What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?

I am passionate about football and just realized how much just this year. I had amazing coaches that went above and beyond for not just me but my entire team. It made me rethink what is next after graduation.

Tell us about your football career.
I started young with Pop Warner but didn't play through middle school, I joined again when I was a Junior in high school but wasn't really that good. But when I started back up this year I had improved a lot and had become a big part of my team.

What position do you play and why does it fit you?
I played Receiver and Defensive Back, these positions fit me really well because it gave me the opportunity to go out and make big plays for my team and let me use my speed and athleticism against whoever lined up against me.

What is the hardest thing you have ever accomplished, and how did you do it?
Probably any of my football accomplishments like All U.P Defensive Back or All regional Receiver. These accomplishments came from many hours of work whether it’s on the practice field or in the weight room working out.

What is your favorite memory with your football team?
My favorite memory has to be in my last home game, it was our homecoming and we went out and had fun and out scores the other team by a lot. By far the best part was getting the win and celebrating in the locker room with all my teammates.

What is up next for you that you are super exited about?
I was selected to play in my local all-star football game in the summer so that is definitely something I'm excited about. Knowing that I get another chance on the football field gets me excited and I can't wait to go out and hopefully make a few plays.

Who do you find inspiring?
Philadelphia Receiver A.J. Brown, he has gone through some tough stuff but he keeps going.

How would you describe your leadership style?
I would say that my leadership style was very situational. I would step up and motivate my team when maybe we were not doing the hottest or if someone messed up I would make sure they wouldn't hold on to that mistake and made sure to keep their head up. But also I think I would step up in the game as well, if I seen that moral was down and we were losing I would just go out and try to make a play and give my team some hope.

What do you wish others knew about cancer and navigating through it?
I just wish that people realize how serious it can be and that they should monitor it so that they can catch it early so maybe it's not as bad. Going through something like that is really hard but you just got to think positive and not think about it too much, usually it's not just you going through it but it's your whole family and you just have to try to stay positive and strong for everyone.

What do you and your family like to do together?
Well usually in the summer we all go and stay at our camp on the lake. We like to get out and enjoy nature and we do things like swim and go on boat rides and maybe even fish every once in a while.

What is a family memory you will never forget?
Probably the time we went to a packers game, it was really cold but I got to watch my favorite sports team play with my family.

How did you find your photographer? What was your experience like? What did you love most?
My mom and Jen are friends. She took my brother’s pictures a few years ago. She is wonderful at her job and you can tell she loves every minute of it. She came out to our camp, a place that means a lot to me, and she would have stayed as long as we needed her.

What are your thoughts of the person who nominated you?
My photographer nominated me and my family is lucky to have her and her family in our lives.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I think it’s a honor to be nominated and it’s a wonderful platform.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
You would most likely find me out catching some sun or swimming in the lake. Sometimes playing various outdoor sport with friends too.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be where you are today?
I guess I would just say work on what you want to be good at, it takes lots of work to get there but when you’re there it feels really good.

What is your favorite activity or pastime that was not in your nomination?
I enjoy getting out and hunting. It’s not always that fun but even the drive out to the woods is relaxing.

What about you inspires others/why do you think you are inspiring?
I think that I’m inspiring because of my mentality. Me personally I think that I’m real strong and can handle bad things happening and I just stay normal and positive.

Layla Rash

Layla Rash - North Carolina
Nomination & Photography by Waugh 2 Waugh Photography
Issue 87 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Layla is such an amazing young lady. Her maturity enables her to balance her school work, cheer commitments, work life, ambassadorship and community service events with grace and positivity. She is willing to step up to be the example for others, even if she is attempting something new. As one of our ambassadors, we have come to value her unique insight and leadership. We know we can always count on her and are so proud of all she has and will accomplish.

Photography by Waugh 2 Waugh Photography

What is your secret to balancing it all?
My secret to balancing all my extracurricular activities, work, and being a senior ambassador is having a calendar hanging in my room and on my phone. This is really important to me because I can physically see how my month is and make sure I am doing everything I need to do. Another thing that is important for me to balance my life out is to make sure I'm spending time with my family and friends.

What do you love most about school?
At school my favorite thing is creating friendships with new people but also spending time and talking to my friends.

What is your favorite class this year and what is the most interesting thing you've learned?
My favorite class I have taken this year is Sports Medicine. In this class, the most interesting thing I have learned is to wrap people's ankles and hands. We also got to wrap other people from school too. Another interesting thing we did in this class was we interned our athletic trainer at a football game. While at this game, we got to see everything that our athletic trainer does before the game and during. I also enjoyed it when we got to go with her to check on injured players.

Tell us about your cheer career.
I first started cheering when I was in first grade for the Yellow Jackets, but stopped that year because the moms would start drama and my mom didn't like that. In 5th grade, when all my friends were cheering for the Jaguars, I begged my mom to let me join. At first, she was hesitant, but let me because she knew how much I wanted to. I cheered for the Jaguars till 8th grade and then decided to try out for NWHS cheer. I was on JV my freshman year and all the other years I've been on varsity.

What is your favorite skill to execute in cheer?
My favorite thing in cheer, has always been stunting. In middle school, I was a backspot, but when I came to high school, I got moved to a base. Since being moved to a base, I've worked so hard to accomplish new skills. Some stunts that are my favorite to do are a switch up lib extension, ruby slipper extension and I also enjoy it when my flyer does flips in the air.

What is your cheer team like and what is your favorite memory with them?
My cheer team is like one big family and couldn't ask for better coaches or a cheer team. My favorite memory is when we went to AppSate for a UCA camp. Our coaches put mine and my friend Lileighs's room right beside them because they call us the “crazy L’s”. Which I'm so thankful for because the last night we were there, we went into their room and stayed up late talking and laughing.

What is your work and what have you learned about yourself working there?
I work at Marshalls, which is a retail store. I have been working here since the start of my sophomore year in high school. This job has made me be better at communicating and socializing with new people. Something that I have learned about myself from this job is that I can sometimes let people run over me and that I need to speak up for myself.

What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today?
My dream job is to become a travel ICU nurse, so I can travel around the world while also having a career I love.

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
When I graduate this year, I want to go to college at AppState and get a masters in nursing science and become an ICU nurse after graduating college. I will also be attaining my CNAs this year, so after I pass my exam I will start working as a CNA.

What are you most looking forward to learning about nursing?
I'm looking forward to being able to learn what a patient might have from their symptoms. This also will help me when i'm sick to know what I have.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I'm very passionate about being kind to others, no matter their situation. Something I will never forget is freshman year. My friend and I saw a special needs boy sitting by himself during lunch every day. We started going up and talking to him daily and asked him to sit with us at lunch. I'm very blessed to be able to build this relationship by just going up to someone and being nice.

How did you find your photographer? What was your experience like? What did you love most?
I first became an ambassador for Waugh2Waugh in 2022 for a year and had an amazing time taking pictures with them. For my senior year this year, I decided to apply to be an ambassador again. Misty and Scott have made me build my confidence in myself but also my comfort in front of the camera while capturing memories. My favorite thing they do is include our ideas we have.

What are your roles and responsibilities as an ambassador?
Our responsibility as a Waugh2Waugh ambassador is to show up to as many shoots as we can. My favorite thing we do for them is push out their pictures as much as we can and let others know about them. I like to do this because I feel like I'm helping out a small town business.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I would like to be recognized in the Inspiring Teen Magazine because I haven't grown up with the best life financially and have dealt with very hard situations. I want everyone to know that no matter what you have gone through in life, you can always overcome the obstacles and achieve your dreams.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I win a scholarship, I'm going to save it for when I go off to college for dorm essentials, books, or a laptop for school.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
Misty and I wanted to try a different shot that she hadn't done before, so I decided to lie in the river and when I got up my booby pads fell in the river and started floating away. When that happened, Misty and I started dying laughing.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
I want to thank my mom for helping me get where I am today. My mom inspires me every single day to work hard and so that I can achieve my dreams, because she has been a single parent mostly all my life and has never given up when times get hard.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
You would find me in my bedroom painting while watching netflix or murder documentaries.

Aelena Evans

Picture

Aelena Evans – Arizona
Nomination & Photography by Shari Miller Photography
Issue 87 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Aelena Evans is amazing. She is funny and smart and the ultimate artistic teen. She has a love of photography and a great eye! She is an active member at school and is the secretary of the her school’s PhotoClub. Outside of school she is a member of Visions, an organization part of the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art working with local artists and craftsmen to showcase local talent of all ages.

Photography by Shari Miller Photography

When did you get started with your love for photography and what led to this passion?
My love for photography began in my first year of photography class at school. Before that, I didn’t know much about photography beyond taking simple pictures on my phone. But my teacher, Ms. DeVirgilio, was truly inspiring. She not only taught me the technical skills I needed to master a camera but also encouraged me to experiment and grow as a photographer. Her guidance has played a huge role in developing my passion for the art.

What do you love most about taking pictures?
I love taking pictures because I always strive to look at the world from various perspectives. Through photography, I can connect with the world through the lens of a camera. It’s more than just “taking a picture.” It is capturing raw moments and emotions. This creative form has taught me to never just look at the bigger picture, but to look at the small details that would go unnoticed by most.

What do you enjoy taking pictures of?
I have found that I really enjoy portrait photography as well as working with mixed media with my photographs.

Tell us about a photograph you took that you are especially proud of.
A photograph that I took was a picture of my best friend Ella. I turned the photograph into a black and white picture, and then did an emulsion transfer to put the photograph on a sheet of metal.

What is the hardest thing you've mastered in photography, and what are you working on mastering now?
The hardest thing I’ve mastered in photography is developing my own film in the darkroom and working with a film camera. When I first started, it was challenging because with film, you only get as many shots as there are on the roll, which makes every shot feel more precious. It taught me patience and precision. Right now, I’m focusing on being less critical of my work. I’m learning to embrace the process and give myself the space to grow, without getting too caught up in perfection.

Where are you at with your photography now?
Right now I am currently working on my AP 2-D Art and Design portfolio as well as creating a new final piece to be showcased in my Visions program.

How did you get involved with the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art?
I got involved with the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art through a program called Visions. Ms. DeVirgilio encouraged me to apply for the program, and I got accepted! It is currently my second year in the program, and it has been an amazing experience to be able to connect with other creatives.

What do you do with local artists and craftsmen to showcase your talent?
To showcase my talent, I attend workshops and presentations with local artists. Here, the artists inform us of their background, what motivates them, and walk us through their creative process. Then, they teach a workshop where we can create art inspired by their work. Working with these artists has really helped me grow and experiment with new techniques and processes.

What is your proudest moment in photography?
My proudest moment in photography was when I was able to showcase my first piece in the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
Despite my extracurriculars, I still maintain a part-time job as well as maintaining a high GPA.

What is your part time job and what have you learned about yourself working for someone else?
I work at Beach Bunny Swimwear part time, and I have learned how to work together as a team to maintain a beautiful and efficient work environment.

What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today?
If offered to me today, my dream job would be to work in the fashion industry.

What is your favorite class right now and what is the most interesting thing you've learned?
My favorite class right now is AP French. The most interesting thing I’ve learned is the differences between American and French culture. I’ve also had the opportunity to connect with a pen pal, who has become one of my close friends. French class is especially important to me because it’s rewarding to learn a new language while also gaining insight into the traditions and cultures of francophone countries.

How do you keep yourself organized to stay on top of all your endeavors and do so well?
I keep myself organized by keeping track of all my tasks and activities. I personally find that a schedule by the hour works the best for me.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I feel extremely passionate about health and wellness. It is one of my passions and I strive to help others incorporate better decisions for a healthy and happy mind. Health truly is wealth.

How did you find your photographer? What was your experience like? What did you love most?
My photographer Shari has been working alongside my school for forever. She photographed my brother and then ended up photographing me. My experience with Shari was amazing, as she was so talented yet so kind.

What is a favorite memory with Shari?
My favorite memory with Shari was when she took my senior photos. She was so amazing and the pictures turned out so beautifully.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I would like to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine because I would love for my story to help inspire others. It is always good to be exposed to others and to be able to get inspiration and learn as much as you can.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I were awarded a scholarship, I would use the money to further my education.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
I would like to thank Ms. DeVirgilio for always helping me learn more about photography and always encouraging me to try new processes with my artwork. She truly helped me get to where I am today because with her help I have found my passion for photography which is extremely important to me.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
If I had nothing to do all day, you would find me at the beach!

What is up next for you that you are super excited about?
I am so excited to start University in the fall

Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?
I am very good at playing the piano!

Maddie Zumstein

Maddie Zumstein – Michigan
Nomination by Isabel Davis
Photography by Christine Hill Photography
Issue 87 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Maddie is a very inspiring and ambitious young entrepreneur. A true role model for her generation. I love to see her grit and determination. Starting a podcast, reaching out to brands and business owners for our support, is truly remarkable. Is a pleasure working with her.

Picture
Photography by Christine Hill Photography

Tell us about your ambitions as a young entrepreneur.
As a young entrepreneur, I want to be successful in what I do. My ambitions consist of making people feel confident in themselves and encouraging them to step out of their comfort zones because it’s a rewarding risk. I started sharing my ideas with the world in the beginning of June 2024 and plan to remain consistent throughout 2025.

What is your podcast called and about, and where can we find it?
My podcast is called Jolt Notion and it is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, IHeartRadio, and Pandora. Jolt Notion promotes a wide variety of topics to enjoy such as, self growth/inspiration, sports and entertainment interviews, interviews with successful business owners, and career insight.

What interests you most about the subject of your podcast?
I am absolutely fascinated with meeting new people. For every interview I have, I am always prepared with a full sheet of questions in order to hit every topic I want to discuss. My favorite characteristic to cover is motivators. Motivators tell you a lot about a person and why they succeed at what they do.

What was the hardest part of getting your podcast going, and what was the most rewarding?
The hardest part of getting my podcast going was monetization, because Jolt Notion is relatively new, we are still growing significantly. The most rewarding part of starting a podcast is the opportunities. I have so many new opportunities and connections that would have never been imaginable if I hadn’t taken the risk.

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
Starting a podcast and reaching out to businesses around Metro Detroit has helped me gain traction and make a name for myself in Michigan. Jolt Notion has aided me in expanding across various sub-categories, such as modeling, traveling, and establishing connections.

What have you learned about business reaching out to other businesses?
I’ve learned that reaching out to businesses via email is very difficult. In order to generate the most responses, meeting with business owners in person has a much higher response rate.

What business who you have networked with has been the most interesting and why?
I am so grateful for all of the people and businesses that have supported me so far. Terraces Flower Farm has been the most interesting business I’ve worked with because I never would have expected it. Currently, we are preparing for season two of Jolt Notion which releases spring of 2025.

What else would you like to talk about?
I will always preach the importance of someone's mindset and outlook. These two characteristics have been the core factors that form my personality and drive me toward success. Starting a podcast is intimidating because the first thing that comes to mind is, "What will others think?" If you base your decisions on what others will think, you're living your whole life in regret.

What suggestions would you give others who might want to start a podcast?
I’d give them the same advice I would give my younger self, the sooner you alter your mindset and stop caring what other people think, you’re going to be untouchable in whatever you do.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I am passionate about my aspirations and goals, which would have never become a reality without stepping outside my comfort zone. The benefits and outcomes are endless if you decide to open your mind.

How did you find your photographer? What was your experience like? What did you love most?
I have an amazing photographer who has been present in majority of my shoots, and the relationship was maintained from there. I had fantastic experiences with Christine Hill Photography. Christine is very supportive and has a remarkable eye for creativity. My favorite part of working with her is that I was never afraid to share my ideas, and never felt uncomfortable.

Are you a part of a model team with your photographer, and if so, tell us about it.
Yes, I work with a few different designers and photographers out of Detroit. I have an internship with Jill (Designer of Brand 1837) and join her at photoshoots. I have tons of plans upcoming in 2025 regarding modeling which I look forward to.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I am the best fit for Inspiring Teens Magazine because what I have to provide benefits your target audience. Promoting a new outlook on life is hard to adjust to, but my objective is to have my peers understand why I started my podcast and what I have to offer them
.
If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I win a scholarship, I would put the money towards my education in order to further my knowledge and benefit my future career.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
I admire Isabel unconditionally. I hope to achieve the hard-working lifestyle that she lives every single day. One of my favorite characteristics about her is that she somehow remains at peace despite being overwhelmed at times. My most cherished memory with her is when we first met at her flower farm to discuss sponsorship for my podcast. She then gave me a tour of her farm, and I immediately fell in love with everything about the lifestyle she had built for herself. From then on, a bond was created.

What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today?
I do not have a dream job at the moment because I am not 100% sure what I want to pursue yet. I’ve narrowed it down to either business, fashion, or analytics. Whatever career I have, I want to love what I do, and that’s all that matters to me.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
There are so many people that have helped me along the way. My biggest supporters have been my parents, grandparents, Aunt Deb, Isabel Davis, and Michele Buono. I appreciate them endlessly for all of their help and suggestions throughout my journey.

Rhea Makkuni – Illinois
Nomination & Photography by Ramya Vijay
Issue 87 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Rhea Makkuni founded Safe&Aware, a non-profit dedicated to empowering survivors through self-defense classes and blog posts on safeandaware. blog, after witnessing a domestic violence episode in her extended family. Rhea initiated the Welcome Kit project, a $15,000 initiative sponsored by Amazon and the WASH Foundation. This project provides sustainable hygiene kits containing basic self-care supplies and resources for small business grants and education to over 300 survivors globally, distributed at Sarah's Inn, International Crime and Prevention Foundation, and Mujeres Latinas en Acción. Additionally, Rhea led 15+ self-defense classes and organized 3 community expos with over 1,500 attendees.

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
Safe&Aware has emerged as a powerful force for change, earning national and international recognition through dedicated service and impactful advocacy. With over 500 hours of volunteer work since 2021, the organization has been honored with international awards like the Points of Light and Everyday Young Hero accolades.
I embody the same principle of leadership across multiple platforms—serving as President of my Model United Nations Club, playing Varsity Volleyball, and amplifying important stories through my school newspaper. Through commitment, creativity, and compassion, I demonstrate how youth can drive meaningful social transformation and inspire positive change in their communities.

What else would you like to talk about?
I aim to pursue a career combining medicine, technology, and social justice, driven by my understanding that health is influenced by social, economic, and systemic factors. My research at RUSH Hospital involves co-authoring a paper on how community health fairs can reduce chronic disease rates in Chicago's marginalized communities. This work seeks to merge scientific methods with community needs to address healthcare access barriers. By focusing on public health and social determinants, I hope to contribute to more equitable healthcare delivery. My goal is to use this interdisciplinary approach to improve health outcomes and reduce disparities in underserved populations

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
Music and movement are the heartbeats of my artistic expression. Whether performing in our school pep rallies or cultural showcases, I’m passionate about fusing my vocal renditions with traditional Indian dance choreography. My journey has taken me from singing the national anthem for Chicago's beloved Bulls and Blackhawks, performing for Joffrey Ballet’s Nutcracker, and even being featured on WGN-9 News, highlighting the power of cultural fusion. I love doing what I do because it creates a unique narrative about me that celebrates my identity, heritage, and unbridled creative spirit.

How did you find your photographer? What was your experience like? What did you love most?

Molly Davidson

Picture

Molly Davidson – Texas
Nomination by Traci Davidson
Photography by Hayly Hext Photography
Issue 87 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Molly Davidson is a proud member of the National Honors Society and was an ambassador for the Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy, where she demonstrated leadership skills and commitment to community service. She possesses a strong moral compass, grounded in her love for God, which guides her interactions with others and influences her decision-making. What truly sets Molly apart is her individuality. She does not follow the crowd but instead embraces her uniqueness with confidence. She has an innate ability to foster friendships and create a sense of belonging among her peers.

How did you get involved as an ambassador for the Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy and what do you love most about it?
Last year was my school's first year of being a part of the Chick-fil-a Leadership Academy. Me and nine other students were chosen to be apart of this group. It was lead by our admissions director Deborah Hawley whom I absolutely adore. We would meet once a month to discuss our service projects and watch videos to learn how to be a great leader. My favorite part of this experience was getting to spend time with my friends and making a positive impact for the community.

What is your best leadership quality?
My leadership qualities are rooted in leading by example and being an active listener. I believe that the best way to inspire and motivate others is through my actions rather than just words. Whether it’s showing up prepared, working hard, or maintaining a positive attitude, I strive to set a standard that others can follow. At the same time, I value listening to those I lead, recognizing that everyone has unique perspectives and ideas. Together, leading by example and being an attentive listener allows me to guide others with empathy, authenticity, and respect.

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
One of the most inspiring things about me is my passion for working with children through swim lessons; helping them to be safe and confident in the water. It is rewarding to be part of their development; guiding them and witnessing their "aha" moments. I believe every child has the potential to succeed, and am motivated by the opportunity to help them discover their strengths, build their confidence, and reach their goals. Seeing their progress, no matter how big or small, gives me a sense of fulfillment and drives me to continue making a meaningful impact in their lives.

What would you tell your peers to help them with water confidence if they didn't know how to swim, were uncomfortable in the water, or were thinking of joining a swim team but didn't know actual strokes?
I’d suggest they start by focusing on building water confidence gradually. Begin with getting comfortable in the water—practice floating, controlled breathing, and kicking while holding onto the pool’s edge. Once they’re at ease, they can try basic arm movements and strokes like freestyle, starting slowly and building their technique over time. Joining a class or working with a coach can help, as they’ll provide structure, feedback, and support. Above all, encourage them to be patient with themselves, celebrate small victories, and remember that confidence comes through consistent practice and a positive mindset.

What else would you like to talk about?
After volunteering with the charity Prom Queen for years, me and 3 other girls were chosen to take over . Prom Queen is a charity event where we collect dresses to give to those who can’t afford one. We feel that every girl deserves to feel beautiful at prom so that is why our school started it many years ago. We have been working all year long to get donations so the girls have options to pick from. Last year we gave away 423 dresses and we hope to give even more this year.

Where do you get the dresses for the girls, and where do you give them out? What is the process for each?
We promote Prom Queen by social media and ask people and stores to donate dresses. We have hundreds of dresses in a storage unit and we are in the middle of trying to organize the dresses by size and donating the outdated dresses. We are grateful that Lubbock Christian University has let us use its building to create a “store” for girls to shop in. We ask students to volunteer to make the whole process go smoothly so we can re-rack or be a personal shopper to find the perfect dress for these girls.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
One of my biggest passions is working—whether it's in a professional setting or in any kind of meaningful project. This summer I got a job at an event center because I love weddings and I hope to be in the wedding business when I grow up. Being able to be apart of a couples “big day” is so special and I can’t wait to make a couple's dream day come true. Work, to me, isn't just about completing tasks or earning an income; it’s about using my skills, creativity, and energy to make a difference.

What is your ideal dream job in the wedding business if it were offered to you today?
My ideal dream job would be to become a wedding planner, as I’ve always been passionate about creating memorable, personalized experiences for others. The idea of helping couples bring their vision to life on one of the most important days of their lives is incredibly fulfilling to me. I love the blend of creativity, organization, and problem-solving involved in wedding planning—everything from designing the décor and coordinating vendors to managing timelines and ensuring everything runs smoothly. The joy and satisfaction of seeing everything come together beautifully would make the hard work worthwhile.

How did you find your photographer? What was your experience like? What did you love most?
My mom and I have watched Hayly's photography business flourish since my mom taught her daughter a few years ago. I have loved watching her turn into the "it" photographer of Lubbock, and am so blessed to have been able to work with her. During the photoshoot Hayly always made sure I was comfortable and was hyping me up the whole time. My favorite part of the experience was that even though we were working against the west Texas wind she knew how to stay positive and get some amazing shots.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I would love to be featured in Inspiring Teens Magazine because it would give me the opportunity to share the lessons I've learned with others. I hope to inspire others to pursue their passions and believe in their potential. Since I will be attending Lubbock Christian University to get a business degree next year, the scholarship money would be a huge benefit.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I were to win a scholarship, I would put the money directly toward my college expenses to help alleviate the financial burden of tuition, textbooks, and other essential fees. This would allow me to focus more on my studies and extracurricular activities without worrying about financial stress. Ultimately, this scholarship would be a valuable investment in my education and future career.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
My mom was the person who nominated me and I am forever grateful for her. One of my favorite memories with her is when we were going through prom dresses for our charity event called Prom Queen. Some of these dresses have been there for 15 years and are extremely outdated. We had so much fun looking at all of the dresses and occasionally playing dress up. While we were organizing them were blasting music and dancing and singing our hearts out. She always knows how to make a boring project so much fun.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
I would want to thank my mom and dad for their unwavering support, guidance, and love that has shaped me in ways I can’t fully express. From helping me with my homework to teaching me important life lessons, they have always been there, lifting me up and believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. Their sacrifices, hard work, and encouragement have given me the foundation I need to chase my dreams. I wouldn't be where I am without them, and I carry they’re love and wisdom with me every day.

Picture

Jasmine Gladman - North Carolina
Nomination & Photography by Joanne Frost Photography
Issue 87 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Jasmine’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Jasmine was a quiet, reserved young woman who took a courageous leap of faith by changing schools and education systems. She embraced opportunities to broaden her circle and deepen relationships, blossoming her into a current outgoing and bubbly woman. As Black Student Union President at Salem Academy, she created engaging activities that strengthened bonds within her community. Her leadership extended to Jack and Jill of America, where she thrived in communication and activity creation. Jasmine’s vibrant spirit and genuine nature shine as a Salem Academy ambassador, making her environment better for everyone.

Photography by Joanne Frost Photography

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I'm passionate about intersectionality, social justice, and the unique experiences and challenges of being a Black woman. People don't realize how many of our modern-day practices stem from slavery and how understanding how race, gender, and other factors intersect to shape our lives is so important. This drives my commitment to advocating for fairness and inclusion. I’m passionate about lifting marginalized voices and fighting against systemic inequalities, especially for all the women who look like me. In embracing these factors I will help build a world where everyone can thrive and feel empowered to create positive change.

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
I've been fencing since freshman year. This sport taught me discipline, strategy, and resilience, which I apply in every aspect of my life. As a member of the Athletic Council at Salem Academy, I've used these lessons to foster school spirit and encourage others to face challenges. I’ve held leadership positions throughout all of my four years, learning to inspire others, lead by example, and make important decisions. Whether on the fencing strip or in my school leadership roles, I approach every opportunity as a chance to grow, inspiring those around me to push past their limits as well.

What else would you like to talk about?
I am a trained barista, I took a class at Forsyth Tech and fell in love with making coffee. I love the artistry of brewing the perfect cup and the connections I make from it. My training has taught me attention to detail and the importance of customer service. I'm in love with the process of learning different techniques, and flavor profiles, the feeling of the milk foaming wand, and pulling the perfect shot of espresso. I’m always excited to share what I've learned with others. Being a barista has taught me the importance of quality in everything I do.

What are some of the activities you created as Black Student Union President?
A big one was the Black History Month trip to Atlanta, Georgia! It was fun and exciting for me to plan since we were the first club at Salem to go on an overnight trip! Most of the members, including myself, had never been on a train or got to see the city of Atlanta before so it was cool and inspiring to provide an experience like that for my club. We also worked with Salem College on some events, so it was cool to see the club I’m so passionate about from a college perspective!

She holds leadership positions in choir and dance. Raegan keeps busy giving back to her community through volunteer events through a local philanthropy. This allows Raegan to share her true self with so many others.

Photography by Angie Read Photography

What is your favorite service project with the NHS?
My favorite service project is Texas 10 (Running Race Event). NHS helps to organize and set up/breakdown for the event. It is nice to support other athletes enjoying their passion.
What is Panthers for Christ and why does it mean so much to you?
What better way to start your day than with the Lord in your heart! Every Thursday before school, we meet. I worship, I give thanks, and I study the Bible with my peers. There is so much to learn and share, and I enjoy doing this with others that share my love for Jesus Christ.

Tell us about your advanced choir group. Where do you fit in and where do you stand out?
I have been in choir since I was in fourth grade. I love to sing. I am somewhat of a floater to fill in a needed gap. I almost always sing Soprano, which is my favorite, but I float between Soprano 1 and Soprano 2. At the end of the day, I am still singing!!

What are your roles and responsibilities in the yearbook committee?
I have been on the yearbook staff for 2 years. It was something different that I tried and I love it. I am a general staffer which means I do a variety of tasks. My primary responsibilities are to gather content (pictures, interviews and verbiage) and do layouts for content spreads. I attend a large high school, so our book is really big!

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I am passionate about dance. I started dancing when I was three. I have studied and performed all genres of dance, but lyrical and musical theatre are my favorites. Some of my best dance memories include dancing as a company member for Los Angeles Dance Magic. I got to work with professional choreographers and got to dance, dance, dance! I have made some wonderful friends with dancers from all over the country and looks forward to the season end in Los Angeles, where we all meet up to end the season and DANCE!

What has your career in dance taught you?
My career in dancing has taught me time management. Dancing is a time-consuming activity. I dance 15+ hours a week. That’s like a part time job. I have to juggle a lot of activities, and dance consumes a lot of time, so managing my time to focus on priorities is important.

What is the hardest skill in dance you've learned that you are the most proud of?
I am a tall dancer. Thus, my center of gravity is more difficult than shorter dancer. My biggest challenge has been turns, specifically “a la seconde” turns. I have to manage my core muscles to whip my arms and legs around to complete the turn. I’ve spent a lot of time working on these and I am happy I have mastered them.

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
The Lord Jesus Christ is my center. I love worshipping Him with my youth group and sharing His with others. My favorite Bible verse is Psalm 46:5 “God is within her, she will not fail.” I am moved from within and will continue to spread His love and kindness.

What is your favorite memory with your youth group?
My favorite memories are worshiping through song. I love to sing so giving one of my natural gifts to the Lord is special for me. I love to sing his praise.

What else would you like to talk about?
I have really enjoyed my high school years, but I am looking forward to college. I love meeting and making new friends. I am looking forward to being active in various clubs and sharing common interests with others. More importantly, I am looking forward to continuing my education to pursue a degree in Marketing.

What will you miss most about high school?
The routine of my day with my classmate friends. I know I will meet and make new friends. I think it’s going to be a different experience, but I am excited about it.

What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today?
My dream job would be to dance with the Rockette’s or to dance and sing in a Broadway show.

How did you find your photographer? What was your experience like? What did you love most?
Angie Read has an outstanding reputation in our community. She has worked with family and friends in our dance and high school area. Angie has a creative eye for photo backdrops which makes for beautiful pictures.

What is a favorite memory with Angie Read?
I like the various options and props in her photos. One of my fun memories of Angie Read, is Angie loading up a portable wagon with various props: stool, suitcase, flowers, hats, a bible, in addition to all her camera equipment, and dragging it along for different backdrops.

Are you a part of a model team with your photographer, and if so, tell us about it.
I am a member of Angie Read’s Power Team. It’s not just about pictures. The team meets for other activities such as community service and a self defense class.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine to show that hard work and dedication does pay off. I have a learning disability that is a challenge academically. However, with extra effort, work and support, I have worked to overcome this disability and have done well in high school.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
I would use the money to help pay for college tuition to continue my education. Education is important to my future.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
My parents. They are my biggest supporters. My Mom is my dance shadow and helps me be the best dancer I can be. My Dad is my school shadow. He makes sure I am on top of important school deadlines.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
At the beach. I love the beach. The sand, the smell of the salt water, and the sun, that is my happy place.

What is up next for you that you are super excited about?
I am excited about my next chapter, college. Though a bit scary, I know I will meet lots of new friends and making lasting memories. I also look forward to college football games! My parents love college football!

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be where you are today?
Be confident, pray and trust in the Lord, and have fun. YOLO – you only live once.

What is your favorite activity or pastime that was not in your nomination?
I love spending time with my family at the beach. I love the sun on my face, the sand in my toes and sound of the waves in my ears. I love the beach. I am a total beach bum!

3 Things on your bucket list
New York during Christmas time, Travel abroad, and see the Grand Canyon which I have done! So two to go.

What about you inspires others/why do you think you are inspiring?
Hard work and dedication. Anything you are passionate about requires effort and work. I cannot do everything, so I focus on what I can do best. I try to narrow my involvement to things I can give 100%.

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
While I am nominated for Inspiring Teen Magazine, I am the normal teen age kid. I struggle to get up in the mornings, my parents yell at me about cleaning my room, and I have to motivate myself to go to dance classes. But my life is very blessed. I have supportive parents that keep me on task and friends that support all of my activities. Things in life can be challenging but I know that my support system is there to help, whatever comes up. I am super blessed. Being an Inspiring Teens nomination is an example of how blessed I am!

Nomination: Ava Brock inspires me daily with her positivity, commitment to her personal and professional relationships and her desire to always be the best person she can be. Whether on the sideline cheering on our football teams for the past 6 years, supporting the youth programs as a mentor for young girls starting out with our sideline cheer feeder teams or as a fan, in the bleachers, watching and encouraging her friends while they strive toward winning, Ava has always possessed a strong sense of community, loyalty and love for everyone and everything she cares about.

Tell us about your cheer career.
I first started cheering in sixth grade after being inspired by other girls I knew to try out. Last year, I was a captain during my last ever season as I am graduating this year.

What is a favorite accomplishment with cheer?
My favorite accomplishment during my time cheering would have to be placing in the elite eight at our state Game Day competition. It was our inaugural season and I couldn’t have asked for a better way for it to end.

What is a memory with your cheer team you will never forget?
A memory I will never forget is going to UCA camp during the summer. It was so much fun bonding at night in our dorm rooms as well as during our dance parties we had during the day.

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
Something that inspires me most outside of what was said in my nomination is my parents. Everyday I get to see them go above and beyond for the people around them. I have never watched someone put in as much effort and passion in the ways I have seen them do it. They are my biggest role models in life above all.

What is a project you've worked on with your parents that you are proud of?
One project I worked on with my parents that I’m really proud of is renovating our home. We transformed the interior and now it feels more like home than ever before.

What is your family like? Where do you fit in and where do you stand out?
My family is pretty close-knit! We are all different in our own way which makes things more fun. I fit in as I am the only child and keep them on their toes. But I also stand out because I love to go out of my comfort zone sometimes and try new things.

What is a family tradition you hope never ends?
A family tradition I hope never ends is our annual Christmas Eve get together. Every Christmas, we fly out to New York and on Christmas Eve we get together to play games, eat good food, open gifts, and spend time all together. Recently, we have done it at our house where they fly out to us instead.

What else would you like to talk about?
My dream is to become an Interior designer one day. After I graduate, I will be attending Mississippi State University to further educate myself in this field to then hopefully become successful in it. I have always loved this career and I would love nothing more than to become successful at it one day.

What are you doing now to prepare for your life as an Interior Designer?
To prepare my life as an Interior Designer I have been helping my mom with projects since I was in elementary school. I’ve also done lots of research regarding the career and its pros and cons.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
Something I feel very passionate about is my friends. Me and my friends have been inseparable since middle school, some even elementary. We have faced plenty of ups and downs together, but at the end up the day we’re always there for one another. There are no other people I’d want to surround myself with on a daily basis.

What do you and your friends like to do together?
Me and my friends love to have sleepovers whenever we get the chance to. We’ll go on late night food runs, spend some money, go to dunkin or Starbucks and have the best time.

What is an adventure with them you'll never forget?
I will never forget all of our vacations we have taken. From the beach trips, to the cabin trips, to driving an hour and a half away just to go to buccees. There is never a dull moment around them.

How did you find your photographer? What was your experience like? What did you love most?
Natalia has been a local photographer in my hometown for many years now. I first met her through my cheer pictures as she would come and do photos for the program. My experience with Natalia was nothing short of amazing as she was organized, makes you feel comfortable, and assures you that you’ll have a beautiful outcome no matter the circumstances. The thing I love most about her is her ability to make you feel so comfortable. She is so much more than just a photographer as she is one of my favorite people I have ever met.

Are you a part of a model team with your photographer, and if so, tell us about it.
At the moment I am not, but I wouldn’t be opposed to it!

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I’d like to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine because I’d like to set a role model for other girls that might be in my same position one day.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I win a scholarship I would put it towards tuition or anything to help with college. It would definitely help lighten the financial load!

What are your thoughts of the person who nominated you?
My mom is my best friend and I don’t know where I’d be today without her. She inspires me everyday to become greater and I could never thank her enough for everything she has done for me.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
I’d like to thank my parents, my friends, my extended family even though I don’t get to see them often. I’m very lucky to be surrounded with so much love and support.

Why is it important to you to be ranked at the top of your class?

It is important for me to be ranked at the top of my class because this allows me the best opportunity for scholarships as well as shows my dedication and hard work in school.

What is your favorite class this year and what is the most interesting thing you've learned?
My favorite class is CNA. In this class I am able to learn about being a Certified Nurse Aid as well as get hands on learning through clinical’s. This year the most interesting thing I have learned is how to conduct CPR and how to preform assisted breathing.

How are you balancing regular school work and your CNA certification at the same time?
I am able to balance both of these because I hold myself accountable for what I want to do and know that school work and CNA work come first as these are both things that can decide my future.

What interests you most in medicine?
The diversity and opportunities available for everyone. The medical field is so much more than surgeries and hospitals and I feel like some people do not realize that.

What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today?
An Orthopedic Surgeon that specializes in pediatrics and student athletes.

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
Some inspiring things about me that my nomination does not cover include, for starters, I will be going to state for Congressional Debate early next year. I also have a passion for helping others which is why I want to pursue in the medical route. I often used to go with my Nana to the nursing home she worked at and would play bingo and talk to all of the residents which is where my love for the medical field started.

What was your path to get to states for Congressional Debate?
Getting to state meant a lot of practice, and preparation. For state I had to write 24 different speeches, throughout winter break. Normally this is 2 or so weeks of rest for many students but for me this meant a lot of typing and a lot of research!

What is your all time favorite Debate topic and why?
The Bill to Require Voter ID In All States.

What has being in Debate taught you?
Being in debate has taught me that sometimes you have to work extra hard for things you want. Even if it means working during winter break while your friends enjoyed their free time.

What surprised you most when you first started in Debate?
Many people have many different opinions on certain topics and the competition is not easy so to be a finalist at state this year was a big accomplishment for me!

What else would you like to talk about?
I would also like to talk about the simple yet popular saying, "follow your dreams." Sometimes when an adult tells a teen to follow their dreams, it does not really stick with the teen like anticipated. There are many reasons for this but coming from a teen myself, this idea in general of following your dreams is so much more than a saying. When you break the sentence up and truly think about it word for word, it not only will make more sense but it will also mean so much more to you than just a saying.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I am passionate about many things but deep down I am truly passionate about modeling and fashion. I talk about it all the time with my mom and will find any reason to dress up and take pictures.

How did you find your photographer? What was your experience like? What did you love most?
I found my photographer through a group on social media. She was amazing and did such a good job. I have always aspired to be a model so I love dressing up and taking pictures. So if I am being honest I loved the entire process of it, from getting all dressed up to taking the pictures themselves.

Are you a part of a model team with your photographer, and if so, tell us about it.
I am not! I did use to be with another photographer in my area but I really enjoyed it and felt like it was a great experience for me.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine because as a teen, it can sometimes be hard to feel inspired, but there is something about seeing someone your age do amazing things. It is almost like it just lights a spark in people, especially me. With that, I hope I can be that person for someone in Inspiring Teens Magazine, even if it is just a single person because sometimes something so little as seeing someone in a magazine with a little information about them can truly change someone's life.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
I would apply the scholarship towards my medical school.

What are your favorite thoughts of the person who nominated you?
The thoughts I have about my mom all summarize into how truly amazing she is. She is a hard worker and is always doing her best for herself and others. My mom most definitely has been one of my biggest inspirations growing up and I believe she is a big part of the reason I am the person I am today.

What do you and your mom like to do together?
We enjoy shopping, lunch dates, spa days, and really anything that involves relaxation and good food.

What is a family tradition you hope never ends?
I hope our tradition of going to the lake every summer never ends. This is a key part of my summers.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
I would want to thank my family, teachers, and anyone who has toughened my skin throughout the years because I would not be the person I am today without any of them.

I want my story to show that with hard work, kindness, and a clear vision, we can create a lasting impact and leave a legacy of hope and resilience.

What leadership opportunities have you had within working with these non profits?
During my time volunteering with PALS, I had the privilege of being paired with an elementary student, where I took on the role of a mentor and role model. My responsibilities included providing guidance, support, and assistance tailored to their needs, whether it involved tutoring, offering encouragement, or simply being a compassionate listener.

How would you describe your leadership style?
I would say my leadership skill would be Affiliative: Focusing on building emotional bonds

What else would you like to talk about?
Helping my peers build self-confidence is a mission close to my heart. I know firsthand how challenging these years can be, and I want every girl to see her unique worth and potential. Through mentorship, volunteering, and leading by example, I aim to create safe spaces where girls can feel empowered to embrace who they are. Confidence is the foundation for success, and I believe that encouraging self-belief during these formative years can change lives. My goal is to inspire young women to face challenges with courage and believe they are capable of achieving greatness. I want to always witness to my peers and remind them of the love the Lord has for them.

What advice would you give to a teen who lacks self-confidence but has big dreams to get her started towards them?
I would say, to stay true to yourself, surround yourself with supportive individuals, and prioritize self care. It’s important to recognize that setbacks are a natural part of the life. By maintaining confidence, taking consistent, small steps, and staying focused on your goals, you can steadily progress toward achieving your dreams. Success is within reach, stay determined! You got this!

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?

I have a passion for fashion and beauty because of the confidence it brings. I love helping others feel great about themselves, whether through styling, makeup, or just uplifting words. It’s something I could talk about endlessly because it’s so much more than appearances—it’s about empowerment and self expression.

How did you find your photographer? What was your experience like? What did you love most?
My mom discovered my photographer on social media after we moved to Midland, TX during my sophomore year. She’s taken my photos several times, and her work is always incredible. She has a way of making me feel beautiful and confident with her kind and caring personality. What I admire most about her is her creativity—it truly shines through in every photo she takes.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
To me, Inspiring Teen Magazine is a powerful platform for promoting confidence among teens. Many struggle with self-esteem due to the pressures of social media and negativity from peers. I’m grateful for the opportunity to use my words and photos in this magazine to inspire and uplift others. It’s a chance to remind teens of their worth and encourage them to embrace their unique qualities with confidence.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I win a scholarship, I would use the funds to support my college education. It would ease the financial burden on my family, enabling me to dedicate my time and energy to excelling in my chosen field. Ultimately, this scholarship would be an investment in my future, helping me acquire the knowledge and skills needed to pursue my career aspirations and make a meaningful impact in my community.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
My mom, Amber Heiser, was the one who nominated me, which means so much because she’s one of my biggest inspirations. What I admire most about her is how effortlessly she inspires others through her kindness, strength, and support.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my parents for helping me get to where I am today. Their unwavering support, love, and encouragement have been the foundation of my success. They have always believed in my potential, even when I doubted myself, and their guidance has shaped me into the person I am.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
You’d definitely find me curled up with a good book. Reading is my escape and my favorite way to relax.

Starting college. I look forward the new academic challenges, meeting people from different backgrounds, and gaining the knowledge and skills to pursue my career goals. This next chapter represents an exciting opportunity for personal growth and independence.

What is the hardest thing you have ever accomplished, and how did you do it?
The hardest thing I have ever accomplished is learning to navigate and cope with grief. It was a deeply challenging and personal journey that required great strength and resilience. I found support through loved ones, counseling, and allowing myself to process emotions in my own time.
Overcoming grief taught me the importance of self-care, seeking help when needed, and finding ways to honor the memories of those l've lost while continuing to move forward.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be where you are today?
Focus on your passions, stay resilient, prioritize learning and growth, build strong relationships, be yourself and never give up.

Photography by Michael McDermott Creative

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
Cheer has been a very big part of my life since the age of five and has become my passion. Cheer has taught me to conquer my fears and put in my all. When you learn a new skill, you practice and improve. During one of my cheer seasons, I sprained both my ankles, but I didn't let that stop me. I pushed forward. I focused on learning new skills and trying things I was scared of. My last year of youth cheer was challenging but I pushed through with my team, and we finished the season successfully.

Tell us about your cheer team and what you love most about belonging.
My cheer team is fun, wild, sassy and full of excitement. We work hard and push through the struggles together. What I love most about belonging to the Bishop Broncos is the sense of home and friendship they offer. We support the football team, coaches and the parents all while enjoying the sport and companionship.

What is a favorite memory with your cheer team?
My favorite memory with my cheer team is when we had a team bonding get-together at my coaches’ house which involved us painting Halloween pictures and spending quality time together. During this activity we played loud music and danced a lot. Spending time with the team and practicing our stunting and tumbling leading to a great memory, a lot of fun pictures and more friendships.

What is a favorite accomplishment with cheer?
My favorite cheer accomplishment was when my team and coaches voted me as MVP.

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
I always keep a positive attitude through hardships. I am responsible for my age, and I work hard in school.

What do you love most about school?
What I love most about school is that it challenges my brain and gives me the confidence to go for the harder classes. I also love to see my friends and my favorite teachers.

What is your favorite class this year and what is the most interesting thing you've learned?
My favorite class this year is Physical Science. The most interesting thing I learned was about making sugar candy. Each class was able to pick their measurement of corn syrup that went into our own mixture of candy. Then we were able to taste test all the candies and decide which was best to take home for winter break.

What else would you like to talk about?
I would like to add that I have goals of becoming a preschool teacher. I love children and seeing how they learn through creativity. I know personally how important a great teacher can be. I still have a close relationship with my preschool teacher who went above and beyond while teaching. Living in a small town she has taught many generations of students, paving their way to success and I hope to follow in her shoes one day.

What are you doing now to help prepare you to become a preschool teacher?
To become a preschool teacher in the future I feel spending time with children is the best preparation. I often babysit in the summers and occasional weekends. While doing so I help with Art projects, reading, keeping the children on a schedule and play time. I also must be constantly watching for their safety and well-being. I learn skills of patience, determination and strategy.

Describe your ideal dream job of a preschool teacher if it were offered to you today?
If I were offered a job as a preschool teacher today my days would start in my classroom surrounded by children excited to learn and grow. My classroom would feel safe and comfortable for all who came to visit. I would be at the door to greet each child and family and then we would move to circle time and start our day. Our day would consist of singing, playing, reading, education and relationships. I would be sure to say goodbye to each student as they left.

How did you find your photographer? What was your experience like? What did you love most?
My photographer is a local to Bishop where I live. He has photographed the local sports teams, families and friends. My experience was comfortable and easy going. I loved the location of my photos!

Are you a part of a model team with your photographer, and if so, tell us about it.
I am a photo influencer/model for Mike McDermott and his photo ideas.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I want to inspire other teens to be comfortable with who they are, and I want to earn money for my future.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I win scholarship money I will put it into a bank account for college.

What is a favorite memory with your mom?
My favorite memory of my mom, who nominated me, was when my dad had to work in Texas, and we decided to do an all-girls camping trip. I've grown up spending days, weekends and summers at Millpond. My sisters, mom, grandma and I had a ton of fun. We made smores, listened to music, swam at the pond, played baseball and sat by the fire. We spent the whole weekend together.

What do you like to do with your siblings?
I like to do all sorts of things with my siblings. We play a lot of board games and spend time outside. My favorite thing we do is ride our quads and dirt bikes exploring the valley we live in. We often race each other around and get extremely dirty.

What is one family tradition you hope never ends?
One family tradition I hope never ends is our annual Easter camping trip to Millpond. I never want this to end because I get to spend time with my family. We ride bikes, quads, hangout by the campfire and play hide in seek at night around the campground. When we wake up on Easter morning, we have breakfast and then all the kids go to the park while the adults hide the eggs. When we come back, we all run wild looking for eggs all over the surrounding area of our campsite. Easter camping is the best!

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
I would like to thank my dad for stepping up and choosing to stay by my side. Dating a mother with a daughter while already being a single dad of two is hard enough but you opened your arms to me and never let go. The day you adopted me I felt complete. You love and support me unconditionally. You have taught me many things about life and helped build me into the person I am today.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
You would find me outside with my family riding bikes and my long board.

What is up next for you that you are super excited about?
Highschool and Highschool cheer tryouts!

What is the hardest thing you have ever accomplished, and how did you do it?
Making it into honors classes. I did it by focusing and putting effort into my work.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be where you are today?
Work hard, study hard and be open to opportunities.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years/what are your plans?
In five years I plan to be in college studying to become a preschool teacher.

What is your favorite activity or pastime that was not in your nomination?
I enjoy spending time by myself relaxing.

3 Things on your bucket list.
1. Travel the world.
2. Live somewhere that’s always warm.
3. Go to a SZA concert.

Who do you find inspiring?
I find my mom inspiring because even after she lost her leg in a motorcycle accident she never gave up and kept fighting. She showed me what it is to be brave and keep pushing through the hard stuff.

What about you inspires others/why do you think you are inspiring?
I feel like my dedication to cheer is inspiring because the younger generations look up to me and the hard work I put into my sport.

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
Thank you!

What would you most like to talk about in your interview?
I am comfortable discussing my strengths, goals, weaknesses, and share skills with the readers that will read the magazine.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I am passionate about fashion, and I love talking about makeup, jewlery and clothing. Making women feel special and attractive is something I truly enjoy.

How did you find your photographer? What was your experience like? What did you love most?
It was such a neat experiance meeting Mrs. Maria. Due to me loving photography I post as much as I can snap shots of myself. Mrs. Maria saw some of my photos and reached out to me asking if I would be interesting in taking pictures in a dress she purchased back in 2020. I was thrilled for the opportunity and of course agreed. We travel to St Augustine Florida and we had a wonderful time creating memorable shots. She is so talented and I felt like I had known her forever.

Are you a part of a model team with your photographer, and if so, tell us about it.
I am not part of a modeling team But it would be so neat to be.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I believe that being in the Inspiring Teen Magazine would truly be a dream come true. It would be a great opportunity to share with teens to continue to post and be yourselves because one day the right person may see it and your wounds can be turned in wisdom.

If I win the scholarship money I plan on using it to help with my cosmetology schooling expenses.

What is a favorite memory you have with the person who nominated you?
My mom is who nominated me and she has truly been my biggest supporter. She has had a front row seat to every good and rough day I've had. She has taught me to be the person I am today, You can't control how people treat you but you can control how you treat yourself. My mom is my best friend and I am so thankful God gave her to me.

How would you describe your personal style?
I would say that a great way to describe my personal style is edgy and fun. I am a quiet and reserved person so I use my style to express my wishful personality. I enjoy putting together outfits that pop and stand out. Adding bling is a must as well.

What do you love most about fashion?
What I love about fashion is it is a way to express yourself without saying much. Whether you struggle with self esteem or your shy you can really make a statement showing confidence with your clothing style.

What do you do in your local boutique when working?
I strive to provide great customer service at the boutique I work at. I encourage them to find the best fit for them that fits not only their style but also their budget.

What have you learned as an employee there?
I have learned to communicate at my job. . It is important to hear the needs of your customers with respect and eye contact.

What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today?
The perfect job for me would be traveling the world with a award winning makeup artist, with the a high fashioned designer and model all the greatest style clothing and be photographed daily.

What interests you about photography?
I feel that photography captures who you truly are. It helps bring out the side no one sees. It captures detail and beauty in time.

Tell us about your cheer career. When did you get started and where are you at with it now?
I began cheering when I was 3 years old. I cheered for a local competition cheer team called Suwannee Spirit. Where I first learned the importance of listening to directions, posture, and team work. I continued cheering in middle school and finished as a Varsity Cheerleader. I have always enjoyed encouraging people and whether you're on the competition mat or on the side lines you are there to cheer on your team.

What is a favorite memory with your cheer team?
My favorite memory as a cheerleader is traveling to large cities, getting in my freshly pressed competition uniform, putting on the makeup that I only could wear for competitions and cheering my heart out to hear the crowd scream and cheer us on like we were superstars. I'll forever love and cherish those moments.

What skill was the hardest for you to learn, and that you are the proudest of?
The hardest skill for me to learn was and still is at times is, pleasing people. I strive to make people happy even if that means I am sad in the end. I would smile through the pain and never show my vulnerable side. I have learned to please God and my family first and the rest will all work.

What do you want us to know about the numerous challenges that could have defined you?
A Challenge that could have definitely defined me is, I have always struggled to have friends. Not being invited to different events or not being talked to in a class full of people is hard and made me feel “not enough” but you must love yourself first. Be your own friend. Lift yourself up. People are so busy living through others eyes that they tend to not see themselves through their own eyes. That is one reason I love photography and fashion. Regardless of what I am facing photography allows me to show a confident and fun side while making a connection with everyone that sees the photo.

What are your strengths?
I feel like a strength that I have is patience. I learned from my daddy to wait without becoming frustrated. Everything works in Gods time.

What is your biggest goal right now?
A goal I have right now is after graduation, starting cosmetology and learning more about hair, skin and nails.

How do you share with your peers how to identify and overcome weaknesses?
I share with my peers my experiences and let them know that I am always available to talk or listen without judgement.

What specific skills would you like to share?
I would like to share to always be patient with everyone. We never know what someone is facing or if they are less experienced. Showing compassion and patience can help anyone feel comfortable and excepted.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
If there is one person I would like to thank it would be God. He has been by me every step of the way. He has loved me when I felt unlovable. He blessed me with the ability to work with others, great features that I love complimenting and a heart to love and see people through his eyes.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
Honestly if I had nothing to do all day I would sleep and lay in my bed. That is my favorite place to be.

What is up next for you that you are super excited about?
I am super excited about graduating from High School in May 2025

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be where you are today?
I would tell someone to keep believing in yourself. I still feel like I have a long way to go and definitely don't have it masters but every day is a step closer then the day before.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years/what are your plans?
In 5 years I see my self with a family, owning my own salon and helping make people appearance dreams become a reality.

What is your favorite activity or pastime that was not in your nomination?
I love to hang with my friends, go to the beach and be on the river with my family and friends.

Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?
A talent I have that most don't know is I enjoy learning and doing sign language.

3 Things on your bucket list
1. Going to New York
2. Flying out of the County
3. Swimming with dolphins

Who do you find inspiring?
Someone who inspires you Megan Moroney, I feel like all of her music literally speaks to my soul.

What about you inspires others/why do you think you are inspiring?
Although I don't feel like I inspire others, I have been told that my fashion and photos inspires them to want to shop wear I shop.
