What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?
I love getting involved in hobbies that benefit others, hoping my actions inspire others to do the same. By volunteering in other things like local sports teams and contributing to clubs like HOSA or FFA, always aiming for my efforts to be genuinely helpful. Ultimately, I try my best to participate in activities and surround myself with people who I can inspire as much as they inspire me.
Inspiring others often starts with inspiring yourself. By striving to be my best, I aim to be a positive role model, allowing my faith and passions to shine through. I've found that when people witness genuine enthusiasm - whether it's through athletics, volunteering, or prioritizing my education - they naturally connect with that drive. It is also my hope that my love and commitment to animal rescue can inspire others to channel similar dedication into their own aspirations. Ultimately I believe that in striving to be the best version of yourself, this passion will naturally shine a positive influence on others.

Can you share a moment when you realized someone was inspired by your example?
Being positive can really lift people up, especially when things get intense or tough, I've noticed that having an optimistic attitude at athletic events, whether as an athlete or as a volunteer, can make a big difference for everyone around me. That is why I'd hope my positivity inspires others to have this same outlook during any situation.

How has your faith shaped the way you approach leadership and service?
Faith has shaped my leadership and service because it's shaped me as a person, not only in church but everywhere. Having God beside me means everything, and I hope to be a positive role model, allowing my faith to shine through me. I pray for others to find God and follow Him, because with Him, anything is possible. Ultimately, faith has shaped the way I approach leadership and service because it shaped me first.

What have you learned about yourself through your involvement in HOSA, FFA, or athletics?
I've discovered my true passions: animals, people, sports, and community or family. I've also learned that a community of people with passions is incredibly powerful. Plus, I've figured out how to pursue my goals and what I truly value.

Is there a specific volunteer experience that had a lasting impact on you?
While animals are a true passion of mine, I also greatly value my experience as a wrestling volunteer and scorekeeper. I've enjoyed the different athletic environment and the amazing parents, coaches, and athletes. I'll forever value the volunteer experience and its impact on me. Although to most people it might not sound super exciting or enticing, it has allowed me to connect with so many people and build such a strong family.

How do you stay motivated when balancing so many commitments?
While balancing many commitments, I found it vital to build friendships and relationships. Making those connections helps motivate and hold each other accountable, while also enjoying the experience with someone just as passionate as I am.

What originally sparked your dream of working with animals?
Growing up, I've always had so many animals around the house, whether exotic or domestic, and I've always enjoyed their presence. I can't say there's one moment that sparked my dream of working with animals. However, I think you just know what your passion and desire are, and over time, I've found that working with and benefiting animals is my true dream.

What current goals and/or projects are you working on now?
Right now my focus is on starting at Wilkes Community College for a semester or two. After that I aim to transfer to a four-year university to major in biology, keeping my love for animals at the forefront. Whether I end up in a zoology or in a veterinary program, my ultimate goal is to make a real positive impact on animals, which is something I have dreamed about since I was a kid.

What qualities do you believe are most important for someone entering the veterinary or zoology field?
I think dedication, passion, and compassion are the most important traits for someone entering the veterinary or zoology field. With any career involving people, animals, or healthcare, it's vital to have someone who is caring and compassionate, but also dedicated and hardworking.

How are you preparing now for the academic challenges of a biology major?
In all honesty, I don't think there's much you can do to prepare for the academic challenges of a biology major. Regardless of how hard-working you are in high school, college is a new level, and it's always gonna be a bit of a culture shock. However, I believe that with a good support system and so many friends and family looking out for me, the challenges along the way will be easier as I dedicate myself to a new goal that will help me ultimately achieve my dreams and passions.

What kind of impact do you hope to make in the field of animal care long term?
With both exotic and domestic animals, I hope that I can make a difference in their lives. Realistically, I know that I'm unable to help all the animals in the world as much as I would love to. However, I strive to affect and touch as many lives as I possibly can. I think animals are so innocent and capable. I think they deserve  an opportunity for people to give them a life that they were meant to have, that they deserve to have, and ultimately, my goal is to do my best to give as many animals as I possibly can a better life.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I have a really deep connection with animals and could spend forever talking about how much I want to help and protect them. What truly drives me is how unfair it is that so many animals worldwide lack proper homes or are in unfortunate living situations. Thankfully, I can choose to pursue a career that will allow me to work towards giving them better lives, though I do tend to get incredibly passionate and sometimes sidetracked when I talk about it.

If you could change one thing about how animals are treated in the world, what would it be?
I would change the number of unfortunate animals who have bad lives. I would wish for them to be treated with love and respect. I think house pets deserve to have loving owners and homes. Any animal should never face neglect or improper care and ownership. As for animals in nature, they deserve their habitats and homes to be respected and maintained. I would wish for animals to be treated as humans are. Just because they don't have a voice doesn't mean that they don't deserve respect and good lives.

How do you handle the emotional side of working with animals who may have experienced neglect or hardship?
In any career working in healthcare, with animals, or with people, there's always going to be an emotional factor. However, I think knowing that you're doing the right thing for the animal, in whatever way that may mean, helps make that job come easier. Obviously, seeing animals in a neglected or hardship state is super unfortunate, but I think that's when it becomes my job to make their life easier and rescue them. I also believe this emotion shows how compassionate you are to be able to express care for that animal. It not only makes you stronger as a person, but stronger as a worker too.

What would you say to someone who thinks one person cannot make a difference in animal welfare?
If someone thinks that they cannot make a difference in animal welfare, then maybe it's not something they have enough passion or dedication towards. I think with dedication and hard work, anything is possible, especially when you have a strong support system and faith behind you. If you want to make a difference, then make the difference.  All it takes is some time and hard work, but if you want to make changes in animal welfare, then put your mind and life into it.

In what ways do you hope your passion for animals will influence others in your community?
I hope my passion for animals will influence others in my community by enlightening them on what it means to have proper care for their pets and animals. I also hope that my passion for animals will influence others to pursue their dreams and desires. Especially living in a small town, it can be easy to feel limited to only what is local. However, your dreams don't always mean staying in the same place you grew up or currently live. I hope to encourage other people to expand and branch outside the box and see other places if that means pursuing their dreams.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
I discovered my photographer through social media, impressed by their dedication, often seeing them out shooting sports or portraits. What I love most is that from the very beginning, their support and welcoming attitude have been what I value most about working with them. They consistently give me a lot of creative input, and they're excellent at customizing our photoshoots to beautifully combine both my personal style and theirs, always striving for the highest quality photos. I also really value their morals and how they manage to create such a positive and comfortable space.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
My favorite memory with Waugh to Waugh Photography was definitely our first senior ambassador meetup. We all got together, played some icebreakers, and introduced ourselves. It was such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and it was great to really chat with the photographers and meet all the other ambassadors. I also really enjoyed my first individual senior session. Both photographers truly brought my dream to life, even expertly navigating tricky spots like busy traffic and quickly capturing amazing angles in crosswalks with the mountains in the back.

What do you love most about being in their ambassador program?
What I love most about being an ambassador is being able to meet so many other young women and men. Both Scott and Misty, along with all the other ambassadors, have taught me so much about what it means to be a good role model and influence. It's also allowed me to meet so many friends and people who have taught me so much. I also take being an ambassador as such an honor, to be able to promote Waugh 2 Waugh's photography in such a way that allows me to have creative opportunities but to also explore their business and entrepreneurship is such an amazing way.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
Watching Waugh to Waugh's journey, and seeing so many other teenagers, including my own friends, get nominated and featured, always made me feel proud and think, "I'd love to be a part of that too." So, getting this opportunity to even fill out these interview questions feels like a real blessing and an incredible chance I could not possibly pass up.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I am fortunate enough to win this Scholarship, I'd put it towards a four-year university to chase my dream of becoming a zoologist or veterinarian. My goal is to either attend NC State University or Gardner Webb University.

What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today?
If I weren't already dedicated to the well-being of animals, I would absolutely love to be a wildlife photographer. Creating a sustainable life for myself by taking photos of animals in their natural habitat and capturing intimate moments like that would be a dream. However, I am determined to help animals and rescue them from neglectful homes, focusing on their health and well-being.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
With God first in all elements of my life, I thank Him for guiding me on this path. I also couldn't have reached this point without my family and friends, who have created an amazing support system. I'm grateful for their votes, which helped me get her, but especially for their unwavering support, which means the world to me.

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?
I want to express my gratitude to Waugh 2 Waugh photography for their support in nominating me. I'm thankful for my family and friends. Above all, I believe God comes first and he is the answer to everything. With passion, faith, and dedication, anything is possible.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
You'd find me cuddled up with my dog, Avalanche, reading and watching movies all day!

Photography by Kennedy Cowan

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
My favorite memory with my dad is attending father-daughter dances together. Those moments gave us time to hangout and create memories I will always cherish.

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?
Outside of school, I work a part-time job in retail, which has helped me develop important communication and life skills. Balancing work with my academic and extracurricular commitments has taught me how to manage my time effectively and stay organized. Throughout high school, I have learned how to prioritize responsibilities while still remaining fully involved in the activities I care about.

What is your favorite activity or pastime that was not in your nomination?
I am currently studying to take my Patient Care Technician board exam. I hope to become certified this spring so I can continue pursuing my passion for healthcare and gaining hands-on experience in the medical field.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
Inspiring Teens Magazine spreads the message that age does not limit the impact someone can make. I would be honored to represent that message and inspire others by sharing my experiences.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
With this scholarship, I will continue my education at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas! I will be majoring in Pre-Radiologic Technologies in hopes of one day becoming a Radiologist and opening my own medical research center.

What are some of the most valuable lessons you’ve learned while balancing so many responsibilities during your senior year?
Activities such as the Gold Dust Pom Squad, AP Capstone, Patient Care Technician preparation classes, my part-time job, UIL One-Act Play, and serving as a theatre officer have kept me very busy this year. Despite the challenges, I have proven to myself that it is possible to balance these commitments while continuing to grow both academically and personally.

How has being involved in both Pom and theatre shaped who you are as a leader?
Being involved in both Pom and theatre has allowed me to experience different styles of leadership. The discipline and teamwork I developed in Pom have carried over into theatre, helping me meet the expectations of being a theatre officer.

Was there ever a moment when things felt overwhelming, and how did you push through it?
Pom and theatre are the most time-consuming activities I participate in. My days often begin with Pom practice at 7:00 a.m., followed by a full day of school and theatre rehearsal that can last until 8:00 p.m. While this schedule can sometimes feel overwhelming, I remind myself to stay grateful for the opportunities I have to participate in activities that I truly love.

What advice would you give to younger students who want to be involved in multiple activities but feel nervous about managing it all?
You do not have to sacrifice one passion for another. With motivation, organization, and determination, it is possible to pursue multiple interests while still achieving success.

Who has been the most influential mentor or role model in your life, and what have you learned from them?
My theatre director, Mr. Shawn Farrar, has been one of the most influential mentors in my life. From him, I have learned the importance of spreading kindness and support to others. Mr. Farrar encourages his students to uplift one another both on and off the stage. Within our district, he created a “pass program” that allows theatre students to attend productions from other schools for free. This initiative encourages students to support one another’s work and has increased attendance at performances throughout the district. His selfless actions have promoted unity within the theatre community, and I believe more people should strive to put others first the way he does

What current goals and/or projects are you working on now?
I am currently conducting a research project examining the negative effects that the UIL One-Act Play competition can have on students. The Texas University Interscholastic League One-Act Play program blends theatre education with a highly structured competitive format. Historically, theatre has been viewed as a collaborative and expressive art form, yet the UIL structure introduces elements more commonly associated with athletic competition. My research aims to address this issue by surveying students to better understand how this competitive framework influences artistic identity, stress levels, and overall morale among high school theatre participants.

How do you hope your research project will make a difference for future theatre students?
Performance anxiety among theatre students suggests that competition can increase fear of failure and create a hyper-focus on technical perfection. My goal is to raise awareness about this anxiety and encourage conversations about how competitive structures impact students. While existing research shows that competition can shape arts education, direct research on the UIL One-Act Play contest remains limited. Gathering student perspectives will help create a clearer understanding of the emotional and artistic pressures involved. By bringing attention to these issues, I hope to help make theatre programs more supportive and encourage greater participation among future students.

Sophia Ramshaw – Texas
Nomination & Photography by Mara Images Photography
Issue 100 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Sophia Ramshaw is so kind hearted and works hard. She swam for two years and ran for three years on varsity. She is a Sunday school teacher and has facilitated having a Swedish exchange student stay with her family for a year.
Photography by Mara Images Photography

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?

My team and I won the 2025 FBLA Texas State Championships for our Community Service award, which involved fundraising, planning and running events to motivate and engage senior citizens so they feel valued and stimulated. I felt a huge sense of purpose learning not only in learning new business concepts but also the importance of giving back to society and how inspiring that can be on a personal level.

What current goals and/or projects are you working on now?
I am looking to spend my summer traveling to enhance my cultural awareness before joining Baylor University. This summer I am going to Scotland, where I am originally from and taking our exchange student from Sweden. We have many unique Scottish activities planned, like tasting haggis. After that we are going to Sweden so that I can learn about her culture and we can experience both places together.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I am passionate about sports and work out regularly. I believe physical fitness benefits both the mind and the body. I was an active child and spent many years in gymnastics, swimming, and running on the varsity teams during my freshman year. My brother runs for Baylor and my family are passionate about watching sports and it's a big discussion topic in our home. We are looking forward to watching the world cup this year especially since Scotland hasn't qualified for a very long time.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
My photographer is a close family friend; our families moved from Scotland to the US together. During my early years Donna would always photograph special moments and my parents have the photographs all around our house. These memories are so precious, and Donna captures all of them beautifully. Now that I am a senior Donna has captured my special year but in a way that is very personal to me. She always works with me to ensure I feel comfortable and happy with the final results.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
Donna is an amazing individual and very kind. My favorite memory of her is when we tried to find the best spot for a picture in a field I really wanted, inspired by an Instagram photo. Unfortunately, the donkey in the adjacent field was curious and kept trying to see what we were doing. Donna and I laughed so much which really relaxed me and helped me achieve my dream pictures. I love her personality and how much she bonds with the people she photographs.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I would like to showcase Donna's work and highlight the importance of hard work to other teens. Many people in my life have inspired me personally so I understand the importance of sharing stories, perspectives and experiences with others. I am also passionate about photos as they provide permanent memories of important moments in time.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
I am heading to Baylor to study Human Resources because of my passion for people and business. I would spend the money on books because attending Baylor is very expensive. I am appreciative to my parents for the great opportunity to study my desired degree and continue focusing on faith, study and community service.

How did participating in FBLA and winning the state championships shape your confidence as a leader?
Working as part of a team helped me to understand how people are motivated but also how to overcome differences in opinion when they occur. On several occasions, we disagreed and I learned to step back and listen to the opinion of others so that we could move forward. We had to present to a panel of judges which was challenging but also rewarding that we were able to communicate our goals, results and outcomes in such a meaningful way.

What are you most excited to learn about while visiting Scotland and Sweden?
I am excited to see how similar both countries are but also how they differ. For example, the type of foods people enjoy, the buildings and architecture and the individual traditions of both places. My exchange student knows my family very well, but I have not spent any time with her family. I am excited to get to know them given how significant having Sophia in my life has been (she is also named Sophia!). My family has always liked to travel so I have grown up appreciating different cultures and appreciating being in different places.

How has being part of competitive sports helped shape your mindset and discipline in other areas of life?
Sports in general require a great deal of dedication and commitment. Early mornings for both swimming and running are a given, so I learned to plan accordingly to achieve good results like going to bed early. My brothers also ran so many times on vacation we were driving around looking for trails so that we could run while on vacation. It is also important to set goals and work towards achieving them particularly overcoming setbacks, which is a big part of every sport. I no longer play competitive sports, but I am very active making sure I run, go to the gym and keep my body and mind healthy and active.

What have sports taught you about teamwork and encouraging others to succeed?
Sports create joy amongst people when things are good and you are achieving good results. Sports can also be difficult when things are not going well and despite working hard you are not meeting your goals. Cross country is a point-based sport which means you can be successful individually but if your team does not do well, you do not achieve team recognition. This helped me to understand that no matter how well you are doing or how badly every performance matters and it is important to lift the spirits of everyone on the team.

As a Sunday school teacher, what do you enjoy most about working with younger students?
I absolutely love working with children and I enjoy looking after them while their parents attend the church service. Age groups vary so sometimes if they are very young it is about dealing with their immediate needs and ensuring they are well cared for and happy. With the older kids it is more activity based – I enjoy all age ranges and love feeling like my Sunday mornings are productive.

What is something that you have learned from hosting an exchange student that changed your perspective?
I have brothers but have never had a sister, which was a big change for me. I am an urgent person who likes to be active and busy. The other Sophia is more relaxed and therefore I have learned to appreciate that people can be very different to you or your siblings. We meet in the middle and we get on very well, which has been a life-changing experience to have someone living in your home that is not a family member. We have made memories that will last a lifetime.

How do you build strong friendships with people from different backgrounds of cultures?
From my experience you need to be open to listening and embracing things that are different. It is important to appreciate that even if you have always thought about things one way your perspective can change when you listen to someone who grew up differently and in a different part of the world. Every day involves a moment when we chat about something that is different or sometimes things that are essentially the same just sound different at first. This has been very impactful for my whole family.

Who has been one of the most influential mentors or role models in your life so far?
I was lucky to have had two during high school. One was my original coach who inspired me to work hard at running in a way that felt very special to me. He knew just what needed to be said to lift me when I was struggling and also to get me to work harder. I wanted to succeed for him not just for myself. The other was my business teacher who influenced me to join FBLA and to actually generated an interest in business that I did not have before.

What leadership skills do you hope to continue developing as you begin your journey at Baylor University?
I want to take my experiences from high school and use the skills I developed to my advantage at university. I will take my dedication and planning skills from the sports I played, making sure I make the most of each day. I will engage in community service and giving back to society as I know how rewarding and important this is. I will also keep working towards my goal of becoming an impactful business leader.

Looking ahead, how do you hope to use your education and experiences to positively impact others?
I wish to pursue a career in Human Resources which is all about people, leadership and performance. While work is important and I believe will be a big part of my life and identity I also believe that what I do outside of work is equally important. I hope to be part of something meaningful. My family is involved with Communities in Schools of Houston (helps kids stay in school) as an Executive Board member so being involved in this organization or similar will be a very important part of my future.

Are you part of a model team with your photographer? If so tell us about it?
Yes, my two brothers and I have all been part of the spokesmodel team. It is a great opportunity to spend time with people my age and importantly showcase a small local business. We attend photoshoots together throughout the year and use the shots to advertise and inspire others to sign up with Mara Images for their senior photos. It has given me good experiences in marketing, social media management and being part of a diverse team.

What is your ideal job if offered to you today?
I would love to be a television presenter interviewing people for current affairs as I think it would always be interesting and an opportunity to meet many different types of people. It would also give me the opportunity to travel the world and experience many more different cultures!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
I would like to thank my parents who have always been there for me. They have supported me through my school years but also helped me work through the college application process. I am particularly grateful for the opportunities that they have given me to travel and experience different places. We love to be somewhere new, explore and try new things.

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments were not highlighted in your nomination?
I started my own business at 16 years old and continue to run it today. I offer mobile automotive detailing services and market my business on social media. This has helped kickstart my college fund.

What current goals are you working toward with your business or personal life as you prepare for college?
My current goal is to continue growing my business so that one day it may turn into a big company.

What inspired you to start your automotive detailing business at such a young age?
I was tired of asking my parents for money. I also know that college is expensive and it would help pay for some things while I’m in Corpus Christi.

What do you enjoy most about running your own business, and what have you learned from the experience so far?
I like that I can set my own hours. I can work as little or as much as I want depending on my schedule. I have learned that time management is very important.

What challenges have you faced while managing school, business responsibilities, and personal interests, and how have you handled them?
The biggest challenge is not having enough time to do everything I want. During the school year, I can only detail vehicles on the weekends, if I don’t have a golf tournament. This requires me to really plan out my week. I’ve learned to schedule everything on my calendar to make sure I don’t miss anything.

What else would you like to talk about?
My favorite thing to talk about is fishing. I love to enter tournaments and compete with anglers of all ages.

How did you first get interested in fishing, and who helped introduce you to it?
My parents introduced me to fishing when I was two years old.

Do you have a favorite fishing tournament or fishing memory that stands out the most to you?
My favorite memory was winning a really big tournament with my parents and twin brother as teammates. We competed against all ages and won first place!

What skills or lessons has fishing taught you that you think will help you in life or business?
Fishing has taught me about determination and to never give up. You have to be very patient and determined while fishing a tournament. This is the same with my business. I have to be determined to be successful and patient with customers.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I am most passionate about fishing.

What role do outdoor activities like fishing play in helping you relax, recharge, or stay motivated?
I love to be outside. Any activity that allows me to be in the sun helps me relax and helps recharge my body for the upcoming week.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
My parents hired this photographer to shoot senior pictures. My favorite part was being able to do something I love to do and have someone capture the moments.

What is a favorite memory you have with the person who nominated you?
My Mom nominated me and my favorite memory is fishing on the boat with her and my Dad.

How has your family supported your goals, interests, or entrepreneurial ideas over the years?
My parents are very supportive of my goals. My mother helps my business with social media marketing. They have both supported any sport I chose in school and always showed up to practice and games.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I came across the Instagram post, and it seemed like a really cool opportunity to apply for a scholarship. Plus, who wouldn't like their picture in a magazine?

What do you hope readers will learn about you or take away from your story?
I hope they learn that you are never too young to start a business.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I won a scholarship, I would use it at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

Looking ahead to your time at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, what are you most excited about studying or experiencing during your college years?
I am most excited about learning general business information. I’m hoping that will help me grow my business or give me an idea to start a new one.

What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today?
My dream job is to be a corporate CEO of something I started.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
I would like to thank my parents for supporting my dreams and goals no matter how crazy they are.

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments were not highlighted in your nomination?
I think my most inspiring quality is my ability to teach others about horses. I spent several summers volunteering at a horse camp to help teach others about horse care and horseback riding.

What first sparked your love for horses and working with them?
My Grandmother sparked my interest. She is a professional horse trainer and began teaching me about horses as soon as I could walk.

What have horses taught you about responsibility, patience, or leadership?
Horses are a huge responsibility. Not only do you have to feed them and keep their stalls clean, but they also require veterinarian checks, shoeing every six weeks and many other health related responsibilities. Horses don’t understand our language, so it takes a lot of patience to teach them what you want them to do.

What is one lesson you learned while volunteering at the horse camp that has stayed with you?
Always be aware of your surroundings. There were over twenty horses at camp and sometimes they would graze outside of the barn. One time, one of the horses spooked at something and began running towards me. I froze and just stood there while the horse nearly ran over me. I should have been more aware of what was going on so that I could have moved out of danger.

What would you most like to talk about?
My favorite topics are fishing and golf.

What first got you interested in fishing?
Both of my parents love to fish and would often take me and my twin brother out on the boat and teach us to fish.

What is a super memorable fishing experience you’ve had?
My mom and I were wade-fishing side by side one time and we both hooked up to redfish at the same time. It was a challenge to net them one at a time without losing either fish, but it was really fun.

What golf course has been your most challenging and why?
The most challenging golf course for me is Champion Lakes in McAllen, Tx. There are a lot of holes with water hazards nearby and it’s tough to keep my ball in the fairway at all times.

If you could golf anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I would love to play a round of golf at Augusta National Golf Club. The course looks amazing on TV and it would be so cool to play the same course as all the professional golfers.

What does golf and fishing teach you about focus, discipline, or enjoying the moment?
Both sports require discipline to be successful. In golf, practice is the only way to get better. No matter how much talent you have, you can only get better with practice. In fishing, you must be disciplined to research tides and fish patterns before each trip to be successful in fishing tournaments.

How did you find your photographer? What was your favorite part of your senior photo session?
My parents hired this photographer to shoot senior pictures. My favorite part was the whole thing! We took two boats to a special location early in the morning. One boat for my parents and photographer and another boat for me and my twin brother. We spent a couple of hours shooting different pictures standing on the boat, fishing in the water and running the boat around the bay. It was really fun to capture images of something I love to do!

What advice would you give to other teens preparing for their senior photos?
Try to capture photos of something you love to do.

What is a favorite memory you have with the person who nominated you?
My mother nominated me, and my favorite memory with her is snowboarding with her and my Dad. We had a blast!

What do you admire most about your mom - and your dad?
I admire my mother for all the little things she does for me. I admire my dad for teaching me about fishing and golf.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
This is a great opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and try something new.

What are you most excited about as you begin your journey at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi?
I am most excited about meeting new people and beginning a new chapter on my own. I love my family, but I’m ready to move out and be on my own!

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I won a scholarship, I would use it at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today?
I would love to be a fishing guide, but my mother has always told me not to make my hobby into my job. For this reason, I plan to help my father with the family business and keep fishing for fun.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
I would like to thank both of my parents. They have always pushed me out of my comfort zone to try new things.

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?
The nomination doesn’t fully capture my work ethic. I stay constantly busy through clubs and organizations. Since freshman year, I’ve taken veterinary classes and worked my way into a pre-veterinary program where students run a career school and grooming center while earning their CVA. I pursue these opportunities to prepare for majoring in animal sciences and becoming a veterinarian. For five years, I’ve also volunteered with organizations like The Hanger, Ballard House, and Brookwood Community. On top of that, I compete on a national club volleyball team that travels often. I’m busy—but it proves I’m hardworking and focused.

What current goals and/or projects are you working on now?
I’m currently in the middle of a big challenge I set for myself after seeing it trend online. It’s called 75 Hard Challenge, and I’m on day 21. The challenge includes two workouts a day (low or high impact), 20 minutes of reading daily—which helps with my AP class—drinking at least three bottles of water, and eating cleaner. The biggest rule is consistency: you must complete 75 full days, and if you miss a day, you add it to the end. It’s really helping me build discipline and stay accountable.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I’ve always known I wanted to be a veterinarian, it’s been my plan since I was four. Now the wheels are officially in motion: I’m enrolled at Texas Tech for next fall on a pre veterinary track. My passion goes beyond just loving animals; it genuinely excites me and feels right for my future. I plan to earn my associate’s degree and veterinary assistant qualification, then complete my bachelor’s and become a certified veterinary technician. After that, I’ll pursue my DVM and possibly even a PhD one day. For now, I’m focused on reaching that DVM and making my lifelong dream a reality.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
My photographer is super close to me and she makes me very comfortable. She knows what I like to do in my photos and she kind of just lets me pose however I choose. She has some very good tips and I love photo sessions with her because I can just be myself! My photographer is someone in my family that I’ve known all my life. I love her so much. She’s so good!!

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
My favorite photography memory with the person who nominated me was when we took photos in Port Aransas. We were staying in a beautiful house and even took some pictures right on the front porch. The setting was gorgeous, and the photographer captured amazing shots with perfect ambience and lighting behind me. It was such a fun experience, and the photos made me feel confident and pretty. I love how clean and polished they turned out. That’s why this is my favorite memory with my photographer.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I want to be in the aspiring teens magazine because I’ve always wanted to model for something and that’s why I love taking pictures plus the inspiring teen magazines is a cool way to showcase all that you’ve done while also putting yourself in a position to earn money for school and to help out your parents!

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
I’ve always known I wanted to be a veterinarian—it’s been my plan since I was four. Now the wheels are officially in motion: I’m enrolled at Texas Tech for next fall on a pre-veterinary track. My passion goes beyond just loving animals; it genuinely excites me and feels right for my future. I plan to earn my associate’s degree and veterinary assistant qualification, then complete my bachelor’s and become a certified veterinary technician. After that, I’ll pursue my DVM—and possibly even a PhD one day. For now, I’m focused on reaching that DVM and making my lifelong dream a reality.

What is up next for you that you are super excited about?
The next thing that I am super excited about is the next chapter in my life which is college. However, don’t be fooled because excitement also comes with the same amount of nerves, but overall, I am confident I will be happy in college.

What is the hardest thing you have ever accomplished, and how did you do it?
The hardest thing I’ve ever accomplished was getting to the level I am at on volleyball, I started in the volleyball program later than most, starting only in eighth grade when most have been playing since they were in elementary. I had to do a lot of work in a lot of training to catch up and the last three years, I have made one of the top national teams or the top for the clubs I am playing for, including my biggest and newest achievement, getting third place at the LSC (lone star classic) national qualifying tournament, a tournament I have been going to for years with thousands of teams competing from all over the country and we got third in our division. Something that I’ve never gotten even close to in the past.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be where you are today?
In terms of just getting into college and attending Texas Tech, I would say if you are in this season of your life which is a very stressful and overwhelming season, it is completely understandable and you just need to take it one step at a time and focus on a single thing you need to get done, then move on to the next. Pushing through is going to be your only lifeline in this season because no matter what your circumstance is for college, it is going to be hard and stressful, and all you can do is just push through and do the best that you can, focusing on the positive things in your life while going through such an overwhelming chapter.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years/what are your plans?
I have big plans for the next five years of my life, I plan to get my associates degree after two years at Texas Tech which will allow me to be a better assistant, two more years I get my bachelors, which allows me to be a vet tech, and then I plan to apply to a vet school to get my DVM (doctors of veterinary medicine) to become a veterinarian! I see myself being happy and joyful and full of excitement for the next steps I take with my job.

What is your favorite activity or pastime that was not in your nomination?
Being in the national charity league was a busy and time worthy chapter in my life, however I will miss the memories I made along the way, especially my senior sendoff and the closing of my last chapter, senior recognition. It was a time to celebrate the senior class of NCL where we dressed formal, announced our rewards and accomplishments, we had routine dances with our parents, dinner, and had a fun night after with dancing & music to end the night. Such a special memory.

Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?
My hidden talent that is actually pretty hidden because no one really knows that I actually really enjoy it, and none of my friends know that I’m good at it, it’s drawing, I love to draw, and I am actually pretty good at it! Plus I can roll my tongue into threes.

3 Things on your bucket list
I would say the top three things on my bucket list are, a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon, GO TO TOKYO, JAPAN, I want to learn to play a 6 string acoustic guitar.

Who do you find inspiring?
I find inspiration in my mom, she does anything and everything for me and my brothers and I couldn’t thank her enough, along with doing everything for us, she also has her own life, her own work, her own stresses and struggles, but we would never know, and I find that truly inspiring especially when I get so overwhelmed I can’t do anything to hide it.

What about you inspires others/why do you think you are inspiring?
I feel like I am good hearted and that can be something inspiring to others, a lot of the times I choose to be the bigger person in conflict, and my heart is shown in my character and just in who I am and how I treat people. I also think I can inspire people by being a hard worker, even without a job. I am 100% busy 100% of the time due to my extracurriculars and volunteering.

Temperance Caudill

Temperance Caudill - Indiana
Nomination & Photography by  April Moore Creations LLC
Issue 100 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Temperance is the kind of teen who notices the quiet things first, a kid sitting alone at lunch, a teammate being distant, another FFA member struggling in a presentation, even a teacher just needing a drink or snack during conferences, where just a small act of kindness could make all the difference. At seventeen she manages to balance school, family, work, year round softball, and board positions in both FFA and National Honor Society, but still finds time show up for others. Not for praise, but in ways that matter.

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?
During the summer, I also umpire and volunteer with practices and general care at my local youth leagues. I am one of the youngest umpires there and one of the few females in this role. I love giving back and being involved with the youth in the sport I am so passionate about. I am also a 8 year 4-H memeber and I have shown horses for all 8 of those years. I am also a District FFA officer for my state, where I get to connect with different members from all around my district!

What current goals and/or projects are you working on now?
Throughout high school, I have always had the dream of becoming a large animal veterinarian, so I have taken as many Animal Science classes as possible. I am also working on an internship for my senior year to get hands-on experience. Through National Honor Society, we have been focusing on community giveback. We have been doing this through our food pantry held at the local youth league. I am also looking forward to running for the new District 5's first president for FFA!

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I could talk about the importance of making connections and giving back to the youth and the sport I am passionate about.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
I found April through social media and instantly fell in love with her ability to capture individuals in multiple settings and capture their personality. My favorite part of my first experience with April was how funny and witty she was. She made the shots feel natural and not forced. April also hyped me up between every shot, helping my confidence grow, even though I was extremely nervous.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
Although I haven't known April very long, my favorite memory is when we were shooting at the makeup studio. April was cracking jokes and making my first time shooting with her such a comforting experience, especially with how nervous I was. April calmed my nerves immensely with her witty personality.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I would love to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine because I believe that inspiration truly comes from actions you do every day, not just big achievements. I strive to lead and inspire with kindness, empathy, and service. Whether this is through supporting young athletes, serving in FFA, or supporting my community in National Honor Society. Being featured in your magazine would allow me to share the message that showing up for others, staying involved, and pursuing your dreams can truly make a difference.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
With this scholarship money, I will be fulfilling a lifelong goal of becoming a large animal veterinarian and will use this money to accomplish that!

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?
Beyond what was included in my nomination, I am someone who quietly perseveres through challenges while continuing to show up fully for others. I balance my academic responsibilities with work and leadership commitments, demonstrating discipline and time management. I am especially passionate about pursuing psychology to support children who have experienced trauma, and that purpose drives my dedication. My resilience, empathy, and ability to connect deeply with people are qualities that truly define me and shape both my goals and the impact I hope to make.

What challenges have helped shape the resilience and perseverance you mentioned?
Like many people my age, I have experienced moments of uncertainty, stress, and personal challenges that forced me to grow emotionally and mentally. Navigating school, work, and leadership responsibilities has required discipline and perseverance, especially when balancing everything at once. These experiences have taught me how to stay determined even when things feel overwhelming. Instead of giving up, I’ve learned to push forward, manage my time better, and keep my long-term goals in mind. Those challenges have strengthened my resilience and helped shape the work ethic I carry with me today.

Who has been a mentor or role model in your life that has influenced your compassion and integrity?
My family has been one of my greatest influences. They have always emphasized the importance of empathy, hard work, and treating others with kindness and respect. Watching the way they support others and handle challenges with integrity has shaped the way I approach relationships and leadership. Their encouragement has motivated me to pursue goals that not only benefit my future but also allow me to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

How do you stay organized and focused while balancing academics, work, and leadership commitments?
Balancing multiple responsibilities requires strong organization and discipline. I stay focused by prioritizing my tasks, planning my schedule ahead of time, and setting clear goals for what I need to accomplish each week. I also remind myself of the bigger picture my long-term career goals which motivates me to stay consistent even during busy or stressful periods. Learning to manage my time effectively has been an important skill that helps me stay productive while still maintaining balance.

What current goals and/or projects are you working on now?
I am currently focused on excelling academically while preparing for my future career in psychiatry. I am working toward studying psychology in college, with the long-term goal of becoming a psychiatrist who specializes in helping children affected by trauma. Alongside school, I balance work responsibilities, continue building leadership skills, and seek volunteer opportunities that allow me to support others. I am also prioritizing personal growth by strengthening my discipline, time management, and resilience so I can be fully prepared for the demands of medical school and my future career.

What experiences first sparked your interest in psychology and the mental health field?
My interest in psychology developed from a deep curiosity about how people think, feel, and respond to the challenges they face in life. I have always been drawn to understanding emotions and the impact that experiences—especially difficult ones—can have on someone’s mental health. Learning more about trauma and its long-term effects strengthened my desire to pursue a career where I could help others heal and feel understood. This curiosity eventually grew into a clear goal of becoming a psychiatrist who works with children affected by trauma.

What steps are you taking now to prepare for the long journey toward medical school and becoming a psychiatrist?
As a high school senior, I am focused on building a strong academic foundation while preparing for college. I have applied to study psychology because it is the first step toward my long-term goal of becoming a psychiatrist. Right now, I’m working hard in my classes, balancing work and leadership responsibilities, and continuing to learn more about mental health and human behavior. I’m also developing important skills like discipline, time management, and resilience, which will be essential as I move through college, medical school, and eventually into my career helping children who have experienced trauma.

How do you hope to make children who have experienced trauma feel safe and supported?
I hope to create an environment where children feel heard, understood, and respected. Many children who experience trauma feel isolated or misunderstood, so I want to be someone who provides patience, empathy, and stability. By building trust and creating a safe space for them to express their thoughts and emotions, I hope to help them feel less alone in their experiences. My goal is to help them develop healthy coping strategies, rebuild confidence, and realize that their past does not define their future.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I am deeply passionate about mental health, especially when it comes to children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. I could talk forever about how early experiences shape the brain, personality, and future relationships, and how the right support can completely change someone’s life. I’m also passionate about breaking the stigma around therapy and psychiatry, particularly in communities where mental health is often misunderstood. The idea that listening, empathy, and proper treatment can help someone feel seen and safe is something that truly inspires me and motivates my future career path.

Why do you think breaking the stigma around mental health is so important today?
Breaking the stigma around mental health is important because so many people struggle in silence due to fear of judgment or misunderstanding. Mental health is just as important as physical health, yet many individuals feel ashamed to talk about their experiences. When we normalize conversations about mental health, it encourages people to seek help and support without feeling embarrassed. Creating a more open and understanding environment allows individuals to feel seen, heard, and valued, which can make a powerful difference in their healing and well-being.

What are some ways people can support friends or family members who may be struggling with their mental health?
One of the most important ways to support someone who is struggling is simply by being present and listening without judgment. Sometimes people don’t need someone to solve their problems—they just need to feel heard and understood. Showing patience, empathy, and checking in regularly can make someone feel less alone. Encouraging them to seek professional help when needed and reminding them that their feelings are valid can also be incredibly supportive.

What message would you share with other teens who may be struggling but feel afraid to ask for help?
I would tell them that asking for help is not a sign of weakness—it is a sign of strength. Everyone goes through difficult moments, and no one should feel like they have to face those challenges alone. There are people who care deeply and want to support you, even if it may not always feel that way. Speaking up about how you feel can be the first step toward healing and finding the support you deserve.

What impact do you hope to make in the lives of others through your future work in mental health?
Through my future work in mental health, I hope to make people feel understood, supported, and hopeful. I want to help children who have experienced trauma feel safe enough to express their emotions and begin healing. My goal is to provide guidance, compassion, and professional support that helps them rebuild confidence and develop healthy coping strategies. If I can help even one person realize their experiences do not define their future, then I know I will be making a meaningful impact.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
I found my photographer through my high school, which made the process feel comfortable and familiar from the start. Being photographed in an environment connected to so many memories made the experience even more meaningful. What I loved most was how supported and confident I felt throughout the session. My photographer was patient, encouraging, and helped capture moments that felt natural rather than posed. The experience wasn’t just about taking pictures—it was about celebrating this milestone and preserving a special time in my life.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
One of my favorite memories with the person who nominated me is how they have always believed in me, even during moments when I doubted myself. They consistently encourage me to push beyond my comfort zone and remind me of my strengths when I forget them. I truly appreciate the way they listen without judgment and offer guidance with patience and love. Knowing that someone sees my hard work and character enough to nominate me is incredibly meaningful, and it reflects the supportive and inspiring role they play in my life.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine because I hope my story can encourage other young people to believe in themselves and pursue their goals with confidence. Being featured would allow me to represent resilience, hard work, and passion for mental health advocacy. I especially hope to inspire teens who may feel overlooked or unsure of their path to see that their experiences can shape a powerful future. Sharing my journey would not only be an honor, but also an opportunity to uplift others and show that dedication and heart truly matter.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I win a scholarship, I will use the money to help pay for college expenses, including tuition, textbooks, and required materials. As someone planning to study psychology and eventually attend medical school to become a psychiatrist, every financial resource makes a meaningful difference. This scholarship would ease the burden on my family and allow me to focus more fully on my education and career goals. It would be an investment not only in my future, but in the children and families I hope to serve through my work in mental health.

What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today?
My dream job would be becoming a psychiatrist who works with children who have experienced trauma. I want to help young people feel safe, understood, and supported while they work through difficult experiences. Being able to guide children toward healing and healthier coping strategies would be incredibly meaningful to me. If I could spend my career helping young people regain confidence, stability, and hope for their future, I would consider that a truly fulfilling and rewarding path.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
I would like to thank my family for always encouraging me to work hard and pursue my goals. Their support and belief in me have played a major role in shaping my determination and values. I am also grateful for the teachers, mentors, and people in my life who have supported my growth and motivated me to keep striving for my future goals.

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?
Being recognized by Inspiring Teens Magazine is an incredible honor. I hope my story reminds others that your goals are always worth pursuing, even if the path to reach them takes time and dedication. I believe that every experience we go through can shape us into stronger and more compassionate individuals. My goal is to continue growing, learning, and using my future career to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Kenli Jenkins – Florida
Nomination by Kelli Jenkins
Photography by Alyssa Chappell Photography
Issue 100 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Kenli Jenkins is an 18 year old senior at Union County High School in Lake Butler, Florida. She is an active student at her school- playing tennis, participating in the National Beta Club, FFA, FCA and Black Student Union and with a strong passion for community service, she has over 200 community service hours. Kenli has a passion for beautiful smiles and intends to become a dental hygienist.
What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?
I proudly received my CNA license during my junior year of high school. I am also CPR certified. Although I hadn’t planned to pursue a career in the medical field, this certification has been very rewarding and I’ve had the opportunity to work with private clients where I built sweet relationships.

How did earning your CNA license at such a young age challenge you or help you grow?
Obtaining my CNA license challenged me to get out of my comfort zone! By completing this through high school, I worked with my peers on matters that were personal and honestly a little uncomfortable at times. In the end, we all grew and learned so much!

What have you learned about compassion and responsibility through working with private clients?
Compassion comes so easily when help people who are so appreciate and humble. It is the ultimate responsibility to know I am in charge of someone else’s health. Sometimes that means making sure my patient doesn’t fall and other times it may mean getting them a snack and tucked into bed- either way, responsibility is rewarding.

Was there a specific moment while working with a client that confirmed you love helping others?
One of my very first in home CNA jobs was a sweet lady who needed help while her own husband was recovering from a procedure. He is her normal care taker so they just needed a hand while he was down. After a speedy recovery for him, I was only needed for a few weeks. On my final day, we both shed tears as we said goodbye. This touched my heart so deeply and made me realize how much she appreciated me and how quickly I had come to admire her.

What current goals and/or projects are you working on now?
Senior year is full of scholarship applications and time spent making memories doing everything “one last time!” I am currently playing on my school varsity tennis team and enjoying every minute. I am also currently providing child care for a local family that is near and dear to my heart.

How do you balance academics, athletics, work, and community involvement during such a busy season?
Organization!!! I try to keep a monthly calendar as well as a weekly one. I always like to look at my week in advance and see what I am up against. I always strive to hit deadlines early and never procrastinate.

What has tennis taught you about discipline, perseverance, or teamwork?
Coming into tennis as a junior was a challenge. There were other team members who had played since their freshman year, so it was a challenge for me “play catch up.” This really gave me the motivation I needed to push hard and make my way to the top.

In what ways has childcare strengthened your patience and leadership skills?
Similar to working with my CNA, childcare pushed me out of my comfort zone. In a situation where I am in charge, it pushes me to lay down rules, make plans and always be on my toes. Patience is a must with young children, especially when you are with 2-3 siblings, all under the age of 11. Having 3 siblings of my own, I felt very comfortable caring for them.

As you prepare for graduation, what are you most excited about in this next chapter of life?
I am so excited to get going in college! I am looking forward to meeting with counselors on campus and making a plan on how to execute my goals.

What steps are you taking now to prepare for your future career as a dental hygienist?
I have been in contact with friends and family in the dental field. So thankful to have already secured a contact at a dental office to apply for a summer job!

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I could talk about self confidence and the importance of believing in yourself forever! I truly believe that teenage years are fun for some but not everyone. They can be hard! I love to see everyone succeed and everyone be happy. That begins with self confidence and the ability to choose a path that makes YOU happy. Sometimes that means stepping away from the crowd and making your own way.

Where does your confidence come from, and how have you built it over time?
My parents have been a huge part of my confidence! They have always coached me and reminded me how strong I am, how smart I am and how beautiful I am. I may not have realized the importance of their words when I was younger, but I see now that they were helping me mentally and emotionally.

What advice would you give to a teen who is struggling to believe in themselves?
Find a strong group of friends! Surround yourself with people who are like minded and who cheer you on. If your friends can’t be happy for you when you succeed, they aren’t your people! If your friends don’t pick you up when you need a hand, they aren’t your friends.

Have you ever had to step away from the crowd and choose your own path? What did that look like for you?
Absolutely!! Major shifts in friend groups have been necessary more than once in my life. My freshman year, after playing softball for years, I decided to walk away. It was no longer good for my mental health and was beginning to take a toll on my physical health. Although leaving it behind was hard, I gave myself grace and the patience to close that chapter before I moved on to something else. In the end, I have no regrets.

How do you hope to use your career in dental hygiene to impact others beyond just creating beautiful smiles?
A beautiful smile is so much more than just cosmetic. Through a career and dental hygiene, I hope to inspire others to use their smile to make other people happy. Smiles are so underestimated whenever it comes to their power to really change someone’s day.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
My older sister, who graduated two years before me, was photographed by Alyssa Chappell Photography! Watching her step out of her comfort zone and enjoy taking photos made me realize that I wanted to do the same. Building a relationship with Alyssa has been so much more than just the photographs she has taken. It truly becomes a family experience. I cannot imagine choosing anyone besides her to go through this with me. She is a true hype girl!

Are you part of a model team with your photographer? If so, tell us about it.
I am! It has been the absolute best experience that I have shared with two other girls from my high school. We have made the best memories and shared so many laughs. Alyssa has gathered us together for multiple holidays to have fun as well as be photographed. As much as I would like to say that being photographed is the best part, it was really the talks about life, eating good food, and laughing uncontrollably that I will remember forever.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
My mom is always my biggest cheerleader! Whether it’s a tennis court, a homecoming queen nomination or prom dress shopping- she always supports me whole heartedly. We have so many amazing memories but my most recent favorite is prom dress shopping out of state, just her and I. We spent the day together and I probably tried on 40 dresses!

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I have many stories to tell! From having a seizure my freshman year and learning to live life after….to learning to choose friends who choose me back and have similar interests…I feel like high school has taught me SO much. If I can share my stories and help others in similar situations, it would be so rewarding.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
As a second child of four, I would love to put a scholarship directly towards my college education. In middle school and in high school, I always gave 110% so that I would be a good candidate to apply for scholarships when the time came. I would love to be able to take some of the financial burden off of my parents. Independence is a huge goal of mine.

What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today?
A dentist!!

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
My entire immediate family deserves a huge thank you. I have the most supportive parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. They always believe in me and support every crazy idea I come up with. It has never gone unnoticed and I truly hope to be able to repay the favors one day.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
Shopping! TJ Maxx is my favorite store!

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be where you are today?
Make a plan and do your best to stick with it! Be flexible when things don’t go your way, but don’t let that stop you.

3 Things on your bucket list:
- Visiting Hawaii
- Go skydiving
- Go on a mission trip to another country
