Photography by Hayly Hext Photography

Tell us about your academic achievements.
If I had to condense my choices to my favorite achievements I would mention that I have been a proud member of NHS since my Junior year. As for my grades and test scores, I scored in the 78th percentile on the Reading and Writing portion of the SAT and scored a 4 on my AP Language and Composition final. I finished with a 4.0 weighted GPA.

Which one are you most proud of and why?
I am definitely most proud of my score on the APLang final. Even though I had worked hard all year and studied endless hours, I still had so much doubt that I would ever be able to pass a test at a collegiate level. Passing the test not only gave me confidence, but it will help me out a lot in college!

What do you like to write about?
I enjoy sharing my opinions about controversial and intimidating rhetoric. I have fun when I write about topics that you have to have a strong opinion on.

How would you describe your writing style?
One thing that is evident in my writing style is the strength of my personal opinion. I enjoy writing argumentative essays because I am able to express my point of view while also delivering facts and evidence to support my case. Kind of like a nerdy diary!

What are your ideal writing conditions?
The best writing environment would definitely be in bed after the sun has set with a candle burning and some music playing.

What are you currently working on?
I am currently working on my college essays! Although it is a little stressful, I am so excited to start polishing up my drafts.

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
Thanks to my parent’s consistency in keeping me accountable along with their constant support, I have been blessed with the perfect environment and tools to excel in school. My education has always been a top priority for my family and I. I am proud to say that I will be going into my final year of highschool with straight A’s and I will be continuing several AP and Dual Credit courses in the Fall. I am hoping to strengthen my foundation this year as I am preparing for college and hopefully higher education after that!

What has been your favorite class so far and what is the most interesting thing you've learned?
AP Language and Composition has been my favorite class throughout the entirety of highschool because it made me learn more about myself than any class has before. For several essays, we were forced to form opinions based off of research only which can greatly affect the way you think about issues in our world today.

What are you most looking forward to in taking Dual Credit courses in the fall?
Taking Dual Credit and AP classes now are going to help me so much in the years to come. Getting the easy classes out of the way now will lift such a burden off of me so I can focus on things I enjoy more.

What are you most excited about for your senior year?
I am looking forward to all of the wonderful memories that my friends and I will make that will last a lifetime.

What else would you like to talk about?
As I grow and begin to lean into adulthood I have started to appreciate the things I have long taken for granted; time being at the top of the list. It is bittersweet that the big dreams I had as a little girl are slowly becoming a reality. I will be applying to Texas Tech this summer (Wreck em’!) and I will begin my journey through the medical field. Medicine, specifically Obstetrics, has secured a special place in my heart. My passion for women’s health keeps me motivated daily.

What are you doing now to work towards your field in Medicine?
I am working on my application to join a program that will allow me to shadow and watch live surgeries.

Why did you choose Medicine?
I love this question. I chose to go into medicine, specifically obstetrics, because I am determined to make a change. I will have the opportunity as a doctor to be apart of the best and worst days of people’s lives, and that’s beautiful.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
My biggest passion in life and number one priority is my biggest support system, friend, and most important, my savior. Jesus Christ died on the cross so you and I could spend eternity in heaven. Many, like myself, claim that they would die for Christ in a heartbeat. However, I find a great struggle in living for him. To live for Christ is dying to the temptations of the flesh. My flesh is very weak, however, I can do all things through Christ. My top priority in life is to choose Him, everyday.

How did you find your photographer, Hayly Hext Photography?
What was your experience like? What did you love most about it?: I got lucky enough to have one of the most talented photographers in Lubbock, Hayly Hext, as my very own mom! I am immensely blessed to not only have her as a wonderful and supportive mother, but a best friend. Her creative ideas and energy truly bring her photos to life. Our bond that is filled with moments of fun and laughter made my senior session so much more special. I will forever cherish getting to experience these moments with my mom.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
You would definitely find me driving all over town and shopping with my friends or my mom. It is for sure my favorite way to relax.

What is up next for you that you are super excited about?
I am trying to take everything day by day because everyone tells me how fast senior year goes by so fast. So honestly just all of the fun activities we have planned for the year!

What is the hardest thing you have ever accomplished, and how did you do it?
The hardest thing I have ever had to accomplish is the journey to self confidence. I have always struggled with my weight which directly affected the way I felt about myself. Growing up always being bigger than the other girls truly took a shot at my self confidence. Thankfully because of the people and my life and self reflection I found beauty in the other parts of myself and I feel more worthy than ever.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be where you are today?
I think it is best to stay humble. You have to realize your worth and not entertain things that will not nurture your body or mind, but at the same time be respectful and expect to learn something from every single person who enters your life.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years/what are your plans?
In 5 years I will be starting medical school! I am very determined to get in and I will do whatever is takes to get accepted. I can’t wait!

What is your favorite activity or pastime that was not in your nomination?
There is something about driving around and blasting your favorite 80’s music with your friends that truly fuels my soul.

Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?
I am a dog whisperer. Seriously. No matter what I’m always the dogs favorite.

3 Things on your bucket list:
1. See George Strait in concert
2. Create my dream home
3. Watch someone give their life to Jesus

Who do you find inspiring?
If inspiration was a person it would be my mother. She is the reason I have ambition and dreams for my future.

What about you inspires others/why do you think you are inspiring?
I think that my testimony is inspiring because of how diving into my Christian faith flipped my life around entirely.

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
I am so beyond excited to be in this magazine and hopefully reach other young girls with the same goals I have.

This past school year she was inducted into the Spanish Honors Society at her high school. Makenna plans to attend college to study business or sports marketing and possibly play soccer.
Photography by Katie Fina Photography
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
When I am not playing soccer or doing my academic studies, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and helping coach little kids' gymnastics.

What else would you like to talk about?
I have a great love for sports and hope to continue playing soccer at the collegiate or club level. I am also interested in majoring in sports marketing or business in college. Coaching soccer is something I am also interested in for the future.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
As a coach and the oldest sibling, I constantly strive to be a good role model and someone for them to look up to. I have had good role models and coaches in my life, and I want to reciprocate that leadership role to them.

How did you find your photographer, Katie Fina Photography? What was your experience like? What did you love most about it?
I found Katie Fina through my good friend Ava. Her mom sent the modeling team to my mom, suggesting I would be a great fit. I reached out to Katie, and both Ava and I got the position. So far, my experience with Katie has been amazing. She is a great photographer, taking wonderful pictures and being sociable and sweet. What I love most about this is meeting new people and strengthening bonds with those I know through this program.

Tell us about your volleyball career.
I started volleyball my freshman year of high school. I tried out in middle school but sadly did not make the team. However, I made a comeback and made my freshman B volleyball team at school. I loved the coach, and we still talk to this day. He has always encouraged me to keep working and to always try my best when it came to volleyball and soccer. I then went on to make JV both my sophomore and junior years. I played club volleyball in-between both of those seasons and created many friendships through school and club. For my senior year, I will just be focusing on soccer and retiring from volleyball.

What is a favorite memory with your volleyball team?
My favorite memory with my high school volleyball team was my sophomore year when we won a tournament at Timothy Christian High School. The final game was very intense, and we pulled through with a great win!

What was your high school soccer team like, and what did you love most about it?
My high school soccer team was full of competitive players who have big hearts and want to win every game. Obviously, that doesn’t happen all the time, which is okay, but you can tell my team continued to always persevere and stay strong when the game wasn’t going our way. What I loved most about my high school soccer season this year was how close this team was. Most of us played at the same club together, which always helps. We all gelled so perfectly together, and I couldn’t have asked for a better varsity squad than them!

What position did you play in soccer, and why did it suit you?
I play center back for both club and high school. I believe this position fits me best because I always have a defensive mindset when it comes to the game. It’s a position that has grown with me over time, and I love it!

How is your club soccer different from high school?
The level of play at club is more competitive than high school, and the speed of play in the game is faster at club as well.

What is your favorite accomplishment with soccer?
My favorite accomplishments with soccer are my club team winning State Premiership and winning the Gold Cup. Another accomplishment I achieved is receiving the Primetime Player of the Week award.

What leadership roles did you have in the Spanish Honor Society?
I was happy to be included and recognized in the induction ceremony.

How would you describe your leadership style?
I would describe my leadership style as competitive but positive while also being very encouraging to my teammates and others.

What will you miss most about high school?
I will miss my friends and my teammates the most!

What are you looking forward to most at college?
Making new friends and hopefully playing soccer at my college!

Why did you choose business or sports marketing?
I took sports marketing as one of my classes my junior year and I loved it! I was so intrigued by how professional sports use marketing to achieve their goals while also encouraging people to attend their sporting events.

What do you hope to do as a career?
A job that involves business or marketing in sports.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
You would find me shopping, working, babysitting, spending time with family and friends, or playing soccer!

What is up next for you that you are super excited about?
My senior year! I am excited to have this last and final chapter of my high school career. It may be a sad year as I am about to leave and attend college, but I am very excited to spend it with the people I love, attend sporting events, and get involved in things like dances and spirit weeks!

Get out of your comfort zone. It’s important for growth and helps you try new things, feel more confident, and also learn new skills. James Vollendorf – Wisconsin
Nomination by Anna Vollendorf
Photography by Soft Light Photography

James has incredible sportsmanship and leadership and always wants the best for everyone around him. He is constantly modeling the value of teamwork and integrity. James has taught his sister specifically that success comes from hard work and a positive mindset. He gives her time each and every day, helping her train and encouraging her to push the limits she has set for herself.

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
I work with the younger kids at the school and take that seriously by trying to be a good role model to them. I try to encourage younger kids at school to try new things. Running is something I try to get some younger kids to try, and they start off thinking running is awful. By the end of the first run a good majority of them don’t think it’s too bad at all.

What else would you like to talk about?
I try to fill in and help wherever I can around school and wherever I’m needed. I haven’t played basketball since freshman year officially. Due to unfortunate circumstances for the basketball team I got asked by the coach to fill in. That has happened both sophomore and junior year for several weeks each time.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
Running, although I am not as good or as passionate as some people, running is something that I find myself talking about a lot. Having a good community and team around me at school makes running that much more enjoyable as well.

How did you find your photographer, Soft Light Photography? What was your experience like? What did you love most about it?
I found my photographer through Instagram. He followed me a couple years ago, and the whole photo shoot was an awesome experience. Taking the sports pictures was a very fun time and that’s what I enjoyed most about taking my senior photos.

Samie Jureller - New York
Nomination by Lori Jureller
Photography by Zula Sonner Photography
Issue 81 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Samantha Jureller is an inspiring teen! She got her first job at the age of 15, and continues to work hard in school to get good grades. She loves being part of the Varsity competition cheer team, and is always kind and supportive to friends and peers. One of Samie’s favorite things to do each year is support her friend Lauren who has CP by running in the Make Lemonade for CP 5k. She is looking forward to going to college and seeing where life after high school takes her!

Photography by Zula Sonner Photography

What was your first job and what did you learn from it?

My First job was working at wegmans. I am still currently working there. Over the past 2 years working there, the biggest thing I have learned was to be patient. There's lots of rude customers, but you just have to be patient with them.

Why is getting good grades important to you?
Getting good grades is important to me because it helps me create a goal for myself. When I'm trying to decide what I want to do with my life when I'm older, my grades from high school have an impact with that. It helps me push myself to be the smartest person I can be.

What is CP and what did you love most about the CP 5K?
CP is cerebral Palsy. What I love most about the 5K to support it is that I get to help donate money to all the charity's for it, while getting my running in!

Tell us about your cheer career.
I Have been doing cheer since 8th grade, and I'm now going into my senior year. Over these 5 years not only have I met some of my best friends through cheer, but also people that are like my family. My position I do is a backspot. My Coach Maya has helped me so much these past few years with cheer and I couldn't be more greatful for her.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
One day that I could talk about forever, is the day my cheer team found out we qualified for the state championship. My 2024 season cheer team's dream was to always make it to states. At our Section 6 competition we were all nervous because that was the competition that decided if we qualified. After we finished our routine, there was a lot of mixed emotions. We didn't know if that was the last time we were preforming together. As we waited patiently for awards, the judges called our team as first place. With tears running down our face we chanted "We're going to states!".

What do you and your friends like to do together?
Me and my friends love to go swimming, shopping , watch movies and make funny tik toks when we are together. I love being with my friends. Whenever I'm sad they always know how to cheer me up!

Where will you be going to college and what will you be studying?
My dream school at the moment is Syracuse University. I loved everything about Syracuse when I went to go visit it a few months ago. I'm still deciding what major I want, but I have cut it down to my top three choices; hospitality, criminology, and media protection.

What are you most looking forward to at college?
I'm looking forward to the college atmosphere the most. Highschool just has so many mean people, and the vibe is just bad. In college I can't wait to meet some of my new friends and explore our new life in college!

What will you miss most about high school?
The one thing I will miss most about high school are the amazing teachers that have helped me throughout my years.

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
I really enjoy helping others, especially those who are less fortunate. Volunteering is important to me because it is a fun to give back and to make new friends. It also reminds me how fortunate I am to have a healthy and happy life where I am surrounded by my family and friends.

What volunteer opportunities have you had?
I have lots of volunteer opportunities in my life. One of them is being a buddy for the miracle league. Being a buddy for that is helping kids who have a disability play softball! All the kids in the program love it, and it makes me so happy to see all the kids being able to do things that they can't normally do.

Which has been your favorite and why?
My favorite place I have volunteered was the project play in Buffalo. My dad works for the sabres so whenever there is a volunteering opportunity that the sabres players attend to, I always go to help out. This one time we went to a not so good part of Buffalo and we played hockey with kids, and played with all these not so fortunate kids. It made my heart so happy to see them having fun.

What else would you like to talk about?
Something I like to talk about is the fact that I am adopted because it has made me who I am today. Growing up, I was left in a state of confusion wondering why my biological mother left. As I have grown older, I have come to understand there is no question about the love of my adoptive parents and know they are my true family. It has made me grateful for the love I have from my family. I often think of all the people who are in my life because I was adopted. They are family and closest friends and I can't imagine my life without them.

How did you find your photographer, Zula Sonner Photography? What was your experience like? What did you love most about it?
I found Zula, my photographer, because she is very popular and talented in the Buffalo area. I've seen her photos before and I knew from the beginning that I wanted her to take my seniors photos. Zula was beyond nice. I'm someone who gets awkward easily but she helped me get out of my shell. I loved how she made me feel so comfortable and made it fun.
Throughout the hours we took to take the pictures, it was an amazing time!

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
You would most definitely find me playing pickle ball! Me and my boyfriend have recently discovered how fun pickle ball is! We love to go to the park everyday and play for an hour or two!

What is up next for you that you are super excited about?
I'm really excited for the senior year of highschool! I can't wait to work myself up to graduation and being out of highschool!!

What is the hardest thing you have ever accomplished, and how did you do it?
The hardest thing I had to accomplish was finding out I had PCOS. I had to find the right kind of doctor, nutritionist, therapist, and a trainer. But all of those people have helped me through it all!

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be where you are today?
One piece of advice is to let go of the people who can't be happy for your success. If you don't let go of them, you will stop being happy for your own success.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years/what are your plans?
In 5 years I see myself in my senior year of college, hopefully trying to find a job somewhere that pays good.

What is your favorite activity or pastime that was not in your nomination?
I love playing pickleball and going on walks!

Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?
One of my hidden talents is that I can wiggle my ears!

3 Things on your bucket list
(1) Go to Greece (2) Go to States again with my cheer team (3) Have my wedding in Italy

Who do you find inspiring?
I find my cousins so inspiring!

What about you inspires others/why do you think you are inspiring?
I think i'm very hardworking and positive! I think that the world needs more positive people and I hope that people think that I am one!

Nomination by Frances Sailer
Photography by Morgan Doyle - Velvet Noir Studios
Issue 81 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Devin Sailer is a 16-year-old from rural upstate New York with 31 anaphylactic allergies. He has been advocating since he was three years old. He has worked with state and federal officials to push for legislation to improve safety and medical access for allergic individuals. He has striven to not allow his condition to prevent him from excelling, and he wants to inspire others to do the same.

What were your first known allergies and what is the story behind how you and your family found out?
I have had allergic reactions since I was an infant to my mothers breast milk. No one knew why I was swelling and breaking out in hives. At 6 months of age I had anaphylaxis to Penicillin. I had my first food anaphylactic reaction at 11 months old to peanut butter. As I was exposed to new foods we found out from trial and error what I was allergic to. Oftentimes we did not know what triggered a reaction, such as when I took a sip of water from someone's water bottle and I ended up in the ER.

Tell us more about your anaphylactic allergies. Do you have allergies that are not anaphylactic as well?
Anaphylaxis is an immune response to what your body believes is a foreign harmful substance. That can cause shock, which is where your blood pressure drops, your airway constricts and you can die. Not every allergic reaction I have is anaphylaxis. Sometimes I just swell and break out in hives, due to a condition I have called idiopathic angioedema. Sometimes I can be exposed to nothing and it causes me to swell.

What are the most common ones vs unexpected ones?
My most common allergies are to some of the top 9 allergens such as; peanuts, tree nuts and shellfish. However I also have an extraordinarily uncommon allergy to local anesthetic, which is numbing medicine. I have had to have fillings performed with no pain medication because of this allergy. The allergy most people think is uncommon is my allergy to cockroaches. However it is actually a very common allergy! It mostly impacts people living in inner cities. I live in rural upstate NY so this is not especially worrisome.

How has having anaphylactic allergies affected your everyday life?
Having life threatening allergies has impacted me in many different ways. I was refused daycare as an infant. I encountered many difficulties throughout my education. Such as being socially ostracized especially during lunch, having participation refused on field trips, not being allowed to participate in classroom parties. Most notably I have been refused medical care at local facilities because the Dr's are not skilled enough to take care of someone as complex as me. So I am forced to travel many hours away to a larger facility where there are more capable Dr's.

What opportunities have you had as a result of having anaphylactic allergies that you might not have gotten otherwise?
I would not say I have had any opportunities presented to me. I have had to figure out how best to function in a world that is reluctant to make any accommodations that may seem like an inconvenience. Such as food labeling, and proper allergy safety in food service. Which is why I began advocating. So that no one has to experience the difficulties that I have. I have been deprived of many opportunities that people take for granted. Such as healthcare and education access.

How did you get started working with state and federal officials to push for legislation to improve safety and medical access for allergic individuals?
I have been advocating since I was 3 years old, starting with doing fundraising for education and research. As I grew older lobbyism was the logical next step, as I began to take an active approach in the betterment of my community through civic activism. I am an advisor on a national committee and I work with two other food allergy projects on a national scale. I have worked with national and state food allergy groups to usher in legislation that can help improve the lives of those impacted by this common but often misunderstood condition.

What are some of the things you've accomplished on this journey?
I have helped our district federal representative see the value of joining the food allergy research caucus in DC. On a state level I have discussed the benefit of statewide legislation for public access to epinephrine and better food labeling, which the state senator voted in favor of. That legislation can help millions of New Yorkers live safer, more equal lives. On a monthly basis I collaborate with other teens my age to help mentor and offer guidance to younger children with food allergies on a national level. I hope with time they also will be inspired to activism.

How has the process of working with officials helped shape you as an individual?
It has taught me the value of communication and representation of underserved communities. Working with government officials has helped me to better understand the legislative process. It has also put into perspective the pace at which progress is made. It has allowed me to better appreciate the hard work of our state and federal legislators.

What do you wish people in general knew about knowing and hanging out with someone with anaphylactic allergies?
Each individual with allergies has their own specific needs. I think it is best to have a sincere conversation with them about their condition. Also knowing that food allergies are different from food intolerances. For example someone who has lactose intolerance who gets an upset stomach when they ingest milk products. Whereas someone with a milk allergy could die if they accidentally ingest a milk product. So if you are a food allergy friend you should abstain from consuming foods that are unsafe in their presence and be aware of potential cross contamination that can easily occur.

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
Throughout my long and arduous journey with food allergies, I have faced many difficulties. Due to others lack of education and awareness. As a result of my allergies, I have even been denied healthcare services. In response, I have joined multiple national committees to help with food allergy education and advocacy. I have petitioned local, state, and federal government officials to improve access, efficacy, and scale of food allergy initiatives and legislation. As well as funding to aid with projects ranging from safe food availability in domestic violence shelters for allergic individuals to general epinephrine access for all people.

What else would you like to talk about?
Food allergies are the least funded chronic condition by the federal government. This often ignored condition affects the lives of 33 million Americans and results in an ER admission approximately every 10 seconds. Meaning that 1 in 10 adults and 1 in 13 children are affected nationwide. The only treatment for life-threatening anaphylaxis is epinephrine. Which is currently being sold at a cost of up to $800, despite the device only costing $8 to manufacture. It is my hope that through this exposure we can bring attention to this issue for families of all walks of life.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I feel very passionate about the state of our country and the effects it has on its citizens as well as the wider world. I am very interested in both international and domestic politics. And the impact of policy on underserved communities. It is my hope to one day directly influence policy and institute change.

How did you find your photographer, Morgan Doyle - Velvet Noir Studios? What was your experience like? What did you love most about it?
My photographer is a well-known local studio manager. She is known for her excellent professionalism and diverse skill set.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
If I had nothing to do all day, you would find me either watching world news or in the woods hiking.

What is up next for you that you are super excited about?
I am very excited about the future prospects of Neffy, which is a breakthrough medication in the world of food allergies. It is a nasally administered epinephrine. While conventional autoinjectors utilize a needle to administer the medication. Neffy is given through the nose with no needle. This medication has the potential to save millions of lives as many people are afraid to administer the epipens because of the needle. Furthermore it will give many bystanders the confidence to save lives by simplifying the mode of administration. This medication is currently approved in Europe but is pending FDA approval currently.

Auriana Smith

Picture

Auriana Smith – Arkansas
Nomination by Amanda Mitchell
Photography by Tims Vision Photography
Issue 81 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Auriana Smith - My daughter has bravely faced significant challenges, finding solace in her faith in Christ. Rejecting the relentless pressure of social media validation, she chose a different path. She put down her phone, embraced nature, and began to truly find herself. Her journey is a testament to the power of inner strength and authenticity. She encourages others to be genuinely good people, often performing acts of service like leaving scriptures and flowers on car windshields to uplift strangers. I'm incredibly proud of her courage to live her truth. Her story inspires us all to see that real beauty comes from within and true self-worth isn't measured by external validation.

What do you wish others knew about depression and anxiety?
That they’re not alone in this battle, and they should never be scared to ask for help.

How has your faith in Christ helped you?
God has been my rock through it all. He’s pulled me out of the darkest times, I couldn’t be more grateful for him.

What do you love most about nature?
I love how peaceful it is. I love being surrounded by Gods creation, it’s when my head is the most clear.

What advice do you have for people going through what you've experienced?
To never give up, because it does get easier no matter how bad the storm is. Trust that God always has something better in store for you.

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
Something inspiring about me that my nomination does not cover is my determination. My mom is the hardest worker I know, I couldn’t name anything she put her mind to and failed to accomplish unless it was God closing a door to lead her to a greater one. She’s shown me that not all things come easy, but that’s no excuse to give up. I tend to be highly eager and persistent when it comes to my goals, thanks to my mom. With this mindset I’ve achieved a lot and will continue to accomplish even more, while learning along the way.

Tell us about your relationship with your mom and what you like to do together?
My mom is like my best friend. We love to go eat, get our nails done together, go shopping, and out for ice cream. I love spending time with her.

What is a goal you've had that she has been an inspiration in obtaining?
Definitely eating healthier. She’s doesn’t have the healthiest diet but she always pushes me to make healthier food choices, and it makes a difference.

What are you working on now?
The main thing I’m working on right now are my skills as a cheerleader. I’m taking tumbling lessons so I can prepare for our season ahead and be a better athlete for my team.

What else would you like to talk about?
I’ve always been told I’m a natural born leader, but I never saw it in myself. Until I was faced with the challenge of climbing Pinnacle Mountain for the first time ever (the hard side). I was with my friends and I noticed some of them dragging behind, so I encouraged them every step no matter how tired I was myself. There were many times where I looked at my path ahead and doubted my capabilities, but each time I’d keep moving.

What is your strongest leadership quality?
I would say my decision making. People often lean on me when there’s a tough dilemma.

What is your leadership style?
I would say leading by example.

Tell us more about your experience climbing Pinnacle Mountain with your friends.
It was the most fun I’ve had all summer! It was extremely challenging, but I loved every bit of it. There were times where I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to make it to the top, but I just kept going and tried not to overthink it.

What else are you most looking forward to this summer?
Getting to make new memories with my friends!

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
The one thing I’m most passionate about is God. He’s brought me through so much and is the only reason my family and I are still standing until this day. I find it shocking that people doubt his existence when he exists all around you. The pretty sunsets and sunrises, your favorite flower, or even your best friend. It’s all his creation. Proof that he exists, and loves you.

How did you find your photographer, Tims Vision Photography? What was your experience like? What did you love most about it?
I found my photographer through social media. My experience was amazing, I felt so confident in not only Tim, but myself as well. He does wonders when he’s behind a camera. I think what I loved most was his sense of humor. I felt great and laughed a lot thanks to Tim. He really knows how to capture the beauty in something.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
In nature on a trail with a beautiful clear stream, skipping rocks.

What is up next for you that you are super excited about?
Senior year, I’m so excited and sad at the same time. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for me!!
