What else would you like to talk about?
Being a welder and SkillsUSA Vice President, tend to spend much of my time in a metals shop. I build sculptures, and have taken home many metals for the sculptures I have built. As this is my senior year, I will be creating a moth, which is a symbol for growth and change as I enter my adulthood. This project is very special to me, so it will be a carefully crafted, year long project, that I have intention of displaying at the SkillsUSA state competition.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I am extremely passionate in my faith. My faith is something that has held me up when I felt like I was falling apart. Turning towards my faith has saved my life, and because of that, I could spend several hours talking to anyone about my faith and how to get involved.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
I found my photographer, because he was previously located near my cabin in northern Wisconsin, and my brother, now 20, had his senior pictures taken from the same photographer. I loved how my brother’s pictures turned out, and insisted I had the same photographer to take my senior photos.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
My favorite memory with my photographer was the whole session I had with him. You could just tell how passionate he was for his career. He had such a good attitude and was so kind and fun, his whole personality made the experience fantastic.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I think Inspiring Teens Magazine will provide a great way to become connected to more people and opportunities. Leadership and mentorship are things I am very passionate about, and any chance to improve my skillset is a good opportunity to take.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
I am scheduled to finish my Business Management degree in only a year, and then plan to go back to school for welding. If I were to receive scholarship money, it would go directly to my education, so that I can make myself more eligible to stay a life long learner, and be able to share my education with others.

Your year-long welded moth symbolizes growth and change. What’s your design brief—materials, dimensions, joints—and which welding processes (MIG/TIG/Stick) will you use where, and why?
My project will be created out of 18-gauge steel, which is a generally thin metal type, and will have copper soldering for color and detail. The gauge size will allow me to hand shear the exact shape, without making it look too “perfect” because no moth is perfectly symmetrical; they are unique. The moth will be 8 inches from wing-end to wing-end, and then mounted on a piece of driftwood for a 3D effect. I plan to join the metal utilizing GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) because this process leaves a clean finish.

What sculpture taught you the hardest lesson so far—failure, warping, time overrun—and how did you iterate your technique (heat control, jigs, bracing) to solve it?
My most challenging project was a set of flowers. The flowers were made of 22 gauge steel and TIG filler rod. The flowers on their filler wire stems were welded onto a ½” piece of steel, and bent to have a “wild” look. This project taught me a lot of patience, because on several occasions I had wires melt, break, and metal thin too much from grinding. Due to these setbacks, I was making print changes the week of competition. However with patience and hope, I kept working hard and placed in the top ten of hundreds of state competitors.

You're the co-captain of the trap team. What are your current averages or personal bests, and which mental routine or cue word helps you reset between stations?
My current averages are around 22-23, and my personal best is 25/25. The best advice I have for nervousness on the line; find a song and between stations keep your mind free of stress by singing those lyrics in your head. This is my go to mental routine to stay focused and not get in my head about a good score. If your club allows, I also highly recommend earplugs with bluetooth capabilities. For many, like myself, music is a great way to just breathe and not worry about other things.

Faith is your anchor. How has it guided a tough call in the shop, on the line, or in leadership—and how do you build an inclusive vibe while living your values?
My biggest guide is God. I lean heavy into my faith when I get overwhelmed or feel like I am not successful in something I am doing. When I teach students in the shop, I use the approach of, “You can always improve, never doubt the capabilities you have.” However, sometimes the advice I give is hard to personally follow; that is where my faith picks me up. My faith has helped me approach situations with a level head and acceptance of whatever outcome may come from a situation.

Your free time spans vinyl, hunting, fishing, and thrifting. Pick one and tell us how it shapes your eye for design (e.g., conservation ethics, upcycling finds into art).
My vinyl collection and love for music has inspired me in several ways, especially in the shop. For example, I listen to a lot of music that worships God and glorifies my faith. This inspired me to build a 30 inch tall rebar cross, which I am now able to see everyday as a reminder of my faith and dedication to God.

What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today?
My absolute dream job is to be a wife and mother. Family is very important to me, and I hope that one day I am blessed with my own family.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
I want to thank my mom and dad. They have encouraged me to be involved and always reach for my full potential. Without them I would not be half as successful as I am today. They have always pushed me to keep going, even when things got difficult, they truly always supported me and helped me reach my dreams.

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?
I am an empathetic and reliable friend, daughter, sister, and peer. It is important to me to be a helping hand to my parents and a support system for my siblings. I strive to be a leader in school, specifically when doing projects or performing in school plays. I hold my friendships in high regard and have been extremely blessed to be surrounded by an amazing group of friends!

What else would you like to talk about?
Right now I have dedicated myself to finishing the golf season out as strong as possible, so then I can move into my last drama season. One of the final plays of my senior year is coming up, and I cannot wait to share this experience with my friends, and make the absolute most out of it!

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I could talk about drama, and the theatre forever. I’ve loved watching musicals since I was a child, and I’ve been acting in plays since my freshman year of high school! This is one of the reasons why I wanted to have some of my senior photos done at Playhouse Square. I have so many wonderful memories of going there with my family to watch a musical!

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
I found Stef while searching on Instagram. I thought his pictures were absolutely gorgeous, and I knew that I wanted him to be my photographer! He is so unbelievably kind, and just made the entire experience so comfortable for me. I’m not always the most comfortable in the spotlight, so it was amazing of him to be able to work with me and help me have as much fun as possible!

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
Stef is extremely funny! Our entire session he was cracking jokes, and it all felt extremely natural. I honestly think that he is one of the kindest photographers I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I want people to know more about who I am! I’ve never been nominated for something like this before, so it’s a new experience that I’m so excited to have a shot at. I’ve always enjoyed reading things about what kids my age are doing, and I’m really happy that it’s my turn to possibly share the spotlight!

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I win a scholarship I am planning on using the money to buy myself a laptop for college. I am extremely passionate about my education, and I’m working hard to put as much money as possible towards making sure I receive the schooling I’ve dreamt of forever!

You’re considering Field Biology or Scientific Illustration—what experience or moment first made you think, “I could build a life around protecting wildlife,” and how are you exploring both paths now?
Growing up, my sister and I were both extremely into shows like Wild Kratts, Zaboomafoo, and different documentaries on Animal Planet. Shows like those have always been extremely interesting to me, and the older I got, that fascination never went away. Our natural world is in dire need of protection, and I hope that one day I get to be the person to bring about that change. I’ve also been drawing since the moment I could pick up a pencil, so it only made sense to me to blend the two things I’m most passionate about into a career choice!

Scientific Illustration blends art and accuracy. Walk us through your process for illustrating an animal: research, observation, sketching, and how you decide what details matter most.
It starts simply with observation. I place down basic shapes with minimal detail. Then, I move into research. You can’t truly capture what it is you’re trying to draw without a sense of understanding why things look and move the way they do. Usually my sketches have notes written all around them, so I can make sure that everything is exactly as it needs to be, and so I can look back on them in the future!

Varsity Golf can be a mental game. What mindset or routine helps you reset after a tough hole—and where else in life does that routine help?
In this final year of golf, I’ve had one consistent mindset the entire time: Who cares? Thinking like that has helped my game improve immensely. Why should I ruin my entire season and/or match because of one bad shot? I’m here to have as much fun as possible, and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing. I’ve noticed that as soon as I flipped my mindset to something more positive, my scores have been on an upward trend as well!

As a leader in drama, what’s one time you helped a castmate (or the whole production) through a challenge and what did it teach you about leadership under pressure?
One of my first memories of high school drama was being thrust into a stage hand role that was previously held by two people. During my freshman year of high school, a friend and I were stage hands for a production of Little Women, but right before the show she got sick and had to drop out. I then had to learn everything that she previously had taken care of, and add that on top of my roles. It was hard work getting the hang of it, but I knew I couldn’t let my cast down! In the end, it all came together perfectly, and I was extremely proud of myself. This taught me that no matter how hard something may seem, it’s my responsibility to try and make sure that the people around me aren’t let down.

You’re in AP Art and NHS—describe a piece you’re most proud of this year and the story behind it. How did feedback shape the final result?
The piece I’m most proud of from the start of this year is a portrait I painted of myself. It was the first project I’ve done for an art class that I didn’t use a grid or transfer paper. I simply freehanded the whole thing, and I’ve never been more proud of a project. It also means a lot to me because it’s a photo of me from curtain call during the first show I got a lead role in. Since this was a summer project, there wasn’t anyone I could really get feedback from. However, that just meant that I learned to trust myself to make mistakes and continue to try and try again until I was happy with the final product!

Huddle emphasizes faith and community. How do your values show up in everyday choices with friends, teammates, and castmates?
I try to be as kind as possible to everyone. I know what it feels like to be left out, and so I’ve promised myself to always be the person that people can come to when they need it most. It would be extremely hypocritical to try and teach others how to make good decisions and how to be kind, if I wasn’t practicing those things myself.

You value being an empathetic and reliable sibling and friend. Share a recent moment you’re proud of where you showed up for someone who needed you.
There isn’t one moment I can pinpoint, but I know for sure that I’ve dedicated this year to being my truest, kindest self. If someone needs something from me, I’m going to try my hardest to make sure they get it. I know what it’s like to not have someone that will drop anything for you, so I strive to be that for other people no matter what.

Your senior photos at Playhouse Square celebrate a lifelong love of theatre. What show or role most shaped you as an actor—and why?
The role that shaped me the most was actually multiple roles. During the first ever show I was cast in I was cast in two or three small roles at the same time. I had maybe ten lines all together, but it was the most fun I’ve ever had! This show showed me that continuing theater was possible, and just how wonderful our program truly is. After that show, I’ve never looked back, and have been in two shows a year since.

Imagine designing a small community project that connects kids to local wildlife (a citizen-science count, a native-plants garden, a sketch-and-observe club, etc.). What would you build and how would you measure its impact?
My first step towards making a change in my community would be to simply start a watch club. How can people decide they want to make a change too, if they aren’t familiar with what they’re trying to change. By simply getting out into the outdoors kids can see for themselves the beauty that lies there, and that’s where real change starts. Then, maybe one day there will be a new generation like me who find nature fascinating as a child, and then turn around and make a future out of protecting it!

With golf season wrapping and your final drama season ahead, what does a “perfect” senior finish look like to you—and what habits are you leaning on to make it happen?
I hope that my last week of golf is as fun as possible. I don’t plan on continuing playing for a team at the collegiate level, so this is my last chance to spend time with my friends playing a sport that we all love! As for drama, I’m in the rehearsal process for a show right now, and I can say with full certainty that I’m going to have so much fun. I want my last two shows to be ones to remember. I have so many friends in this department, so my focus for the rest of this year is to make as many memories as possible with my favorite people!

If I was to win a scholarship I would put it up to go towards furthering my education after the Marines.

You’re in AP and dual-enrollment classes while wrestling varsity—what concrete system (study blocks, sleep rules, phone limits) keeps you performing your best in both?
I set limits for myself and have a strict routine in place that allows time for studying and workouts to stay in shape.

Cutting/maintaining weight can be brutal. What’s your approach to nutrition?

Paris Santos – Indiana
Nomination & Photography by
Tawnya English/ Memories by Tawnya Photography
Issue 95 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Paris Santos is an inspiring teen from Eastside High School in Butler, Indiana. As captain of the varsity cheer team, she leads with spirit and positivity, lifting others with her energy and heart. Alongside dual credit courses and community volunteering, Paris balances academics and service with grace. Her dream is to become an ultrasound technician, specializing in prenatal care, fueled by her love for babies and desire to support mothers. Grounded in her faith, Paris finds joy in reading her Bible and helping others. She is a true role model whose kindness, dedication, and drive inspire everyone around her.

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments were not highlighted in your nomination?
One quality not fully highlighted is my ability to lead with positivity. As cheer captain, I’ve learned to encourage my teammates through both wins and challenges, making sure everyone feels supported. I also stay committed to volunteering in my community with different age groups, because I want to make a difference beyond school. My resilience is another strength—no matter what obstacles I face, I stay focused on my goals. These qualities show that I value hard work, kindness, and helping others succeed right alongside me.

What would you most like to talk about?
I’d most like to talk about my dream of becoming an ultrasound technician. I love the idea of being part of such an important moment for families by helping them see their little ones before they are born. I would also talk about how this career ties to my love for babies, my family values, and my desire to help others. It excites me to think about combining compassion with medical technology, and I would love to inspire others to follow careers that bring them true joy.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I feel passionate about cheerleading, because it allows me to express myself, build teamwork, and spread school spirit. As captain, I’ve seen how one person’s energy can motivate a whole group, and that inspires me every day. I’m also passionate about creating—whether it’s designing bows, senior parking spots, or spirit wear, I enjoy turning ideas into something that lifts others up. Beyond cheer, I feel passionate about my future career in healthcare, because helping others is something I could talk about forever and never lose excitement for.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
I actually found my photographer through my mom, who connected me with someone she trusted. From the very beginning, the experience was amazing because my photographer made me feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. She understood my vision and captured my personality in every shot, which made the process fun instead of stressful. What I loved most was how she helped me see myself in a new light, reminding me that my smile and confidence are part of what makes me inspiring.
What is a favorite memory you have with the person who nominated you?
A favorite memory with the person who nominated me is the moment they told me how proud they were of me. They reminded me that my hard work, leadership, and dedication to my future were qualities worth recognizing. That conversation made me feel seen and valued, and it gave me confidence to keep pushing toward my goals. It wasn’t just about the nomination—it was about knowing someone truly believed in me and saw the impact I was making. That encouragement is a memory I’ll always carry.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine because it would allow me to share my story with other teens and show them that big dreams are possible with hard work and determination. I hope to inspire others who might feel unsure about their future, by showing how I’ve stayed focused on my goals while balancing school, cheerleading, volunteering, and planning my career. Being featured would be an honor and a chance to use my platform to motivate others to stay true to themselves.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I win a scholarship, I would use the money to help pay for my education as I pursue my degree in ultrasound technology. I want to focus on my studies and training without adding financial stress to my family. This scholarship would bring me closer to my dream career, where I can help families see the joy of their babies before they are born. It would be more than just money—it would be an investment in my future, my goals, and the lives I hope to impact.

Nimisha Agarwal - New Jersey
Nomination & Photography by Erinn Letts Photos
Issue 95 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Nimisha Agarwal, a standout student at the nationally ranked Bergen County Academies, is an inspiring teen whose leadership, service, and passion for healthcare shine through every endeavor. From volunteering at senior centers and supporting children with special needs, to leading Girl Scouts projects that reduce pediatric anxiety and uplift nurses, Nimisha consistently brings creativity and compassion to her community. She founded Calm for Cooling, partnering with a Tanzanian hospital to ship vital medical supplies, and completed hands-on clinical internships, as well as international service work. With excellence, empathy, and drive, she motivates peers to combine passion with service.

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?
One of my proudest accomplishments is earning the Girl Scouts Silver Award for my “Teddy Bear Clinic” project. Partnering with Valley Hospital, I organized a biannual event that helped children feel less anxious about medical visits by teaching them care through their stuffed animals. I also led a collection of over 1,000 fidget toys for pediatric patients and created calming oils and personalized cards for nurses to support their well-being. This project reflects my commitment to both compassion and innovation, showing how small acts of care can create lasting comfort and impact.

What else would you like to talk about? Current goals and projects your working on are always interesting!
I’d like to share how curiosity and leadership guide my journey. Whether in a hospital, classroom, or community setting, I love taking initiative to solve problems and inspire others. Founding Calm for Cooling showed me how global collaboration can bring relief to patients thousands of miles away, while volunteering locally taught me the value of consistent service. I enjoy connecting people, whether through health advocacy, tutoring, or creating inclusive spaces. Looking ahead, I hope to merge my interests in healthcare, research, and innovation to make a lasting impact on communities worldwide.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I am passionate about healthcare and the power of service to transform lives. I could talk endlessly about how medicine is not only about science but also about compassion, connection, and trust. From volunteering with seniors and children to helping out with healthcare efforts abroad, I’ve seen how small actions can create meaningful change. I love exploring how innovation and empathy can come together to make healthcare more accessible and human-centered. This intersection of science and service continually inspires me and fuels my future goals.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
If I win a scholarship, I will use the money to further my education and expand my community service projects. At Bergen County Academies, I’m pursuing a rigorous path in medical science, and this support would help cover academic resources, research opportunities, and future college expenses. It would also allow me to grow Calm for Cooling by sending more medical supplies to underserved hospitals abroad and funding local health initiatives. Most importantly, it would empower me to continue combining innovation and compassion, ensuring I can impact lives both locally and globally as I work toward a career in healthcare.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
The person who nominated me was my mother's medical school classmate's wife. This photoshoot was our first time meeting, yet I know exactly who she is and her children as I have watched them grow up through yearly holiday cards. It is ironic how even though we had never met before this shoot, and live half-way across the country from each other, there was an immediate sense of familiarity and warmth. It felt less like meeting someone new and more like

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine because it provides a platform to share my passions, leadership, and service with a broader community. From my work in Girl Scouts to research and health initiatives, I strive to create meaningful change and inspire others to take action in their own lives. Being featured would not only recognize my efforts but also allow me to connect with like-minded teens who are making a difference. Most importantly, it would give me the opportunity to encourage younger teens to dream big, stay curious, and use their voices for good.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I win a scholarship, I will use the money to further my education and expand my opportunities to make an impact. It will help cover college expenses, allowing me to focus more on my studies and leadership initiatives rather than financial stress. I plan to continue pursuing research, community service, and projects like my Girl Scout Gold Award and global health initiatives. Ultimately, this scholarship would not only invest in my future but also multiply into the positive change I can create for others.

Kinsley Stevens – North Carolina
Nomination & Photography by Kaitlyn Butler Photography
Issue 95 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Kinsley Stevens is a very dedicated student to her craft of dance. She is very respectful and outgoing. No is never an answer for her, and she is always ready to be creative!

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments were not highlighted in your nomination?
I’m proud of my resilience, creativity, and courage. Through dance, I’ve found a way to share my story, express myself, and grow stronger through challenges. I’ve learned that determination helps me turn hard moments into opportunities, and that kindness can be just as meaningful as big achievements. I’m grateful for the support and encouragement I’ve received, and I hope to inspire others by staying true to who I am. My journey is only beginning, but I’m excited to keep learning, growing, and shining along the way.

What would you most like to talk about?
I’d love to talk about dance and how it’s helped me grow, not just as a performer but as a person. I’m really passionate about mental wellness for dancers because I know how important it is to feel supported and encouraged, especially when things get tough. I also love sharing about my experiences assisting at conventions and the lessons I’ve learned from being around so many inspiring teachers and dancers. Most of all, I’d talk about staying true to yourself, believing in your voice, and using your journey to inspire and uplift others.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I’m really passionate about mental wellness for dancers. Dance is so much fun, but it can also be hard sometimes, and I think it’s really important for dancers to feel supported and encouraged. My passion comes from my own experience overcoming bullying, which taught me how much confidence and kindness matter. I love talking about staying positive and helping dancers and others feel good about themselves. I want to use my voice to remind others that it’s okay to have tough days and that they can still keep going and shine.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
I met Kaitlyn after she DM’d me and invited me to be part of her model squad, and I was so excited! Being part of the squad has been such a fun experience. I love getting to work with her, learning new things, and being part of something creative. It’s also helped me feel more confident. I’m really grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to keep learning and growing with the squad!

What is a favorite memory you have with the person who nominated you?
One of my most memorable moments with Kaitlyn was at a local park for a photoshoot. She spotted an area full of flowers and thought it would make an amazing shot. The only problem? It was full of bees! She asked if I was okay standing right in the middle, and I said yes… and bravely stepped in. It was over 90° that day, but we ended up with some incredible shots. Totally worth it! The day was so hot, but also so much fun. I’ll always remember that shoot!

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I want to be in an inspiring teen magazine because I love sharing positivity and encouraging others. I know how important it is for teens to see someone who is real, passionate, and working hard toward their goals. Being in the magazine would give me a chance to inspire others through my experiences in dance, advocacy for mental wellness, and staying true to myself. I hope my story can motivate other teens to keep going, believe in themselves, and find their own voice.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I received this scholarship, I would donate a portion to the Exhale Dance Convention because I love how they support pediatric mental health. The rest I would save for my dance conservatory training. I plan to attend a conservatory for a year before going to college, and this scholarship would help me focus on growing my skills and learning from amazing teachers. It would mean so much to have support for both giving back to something I care about and investing in my own journey of growth.

Nomination: Abigail Payne is a senior at Armorel High School. She is a member of Cheer, FBLA, BETA, Drug-Free, and Honors. Abby is a part of the Cassidy Sue Photography Senior Rep Team. She has a strong love for God and big plans for her future!

Photography by Cassidy Sue Photography

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?
I am FBLA Vice President for my school and a Business Completer. One of my favorite things to do is make people laugh. In FBLA, I competed in a Job Interview competition that taught me a lot about communication and people-skills.

As FBLA Vice President and a Business Completer, what project or competition taught you the most about leadership—and what did you do differently because of it?
Ever since that FBLA competition, I have been more professional in the way I speak to others and have learned how to read body language.
What else would you like to talk about?
I love to spend time with my boyfriend, my family, and my dog. In my spare time, you can usually find me reading or painting.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I feel very passionate about Jesus! I could talk about how incredible He is for hours. I also feel very passionate about my love for animals. I believe there is nothing sweeter than the south!

You say you could talk about Jesus for hours. How does your faith guide your everyday choices at school and with friends?
My faith guides my choices at school by allowing me to cast any anxieties out that I may receive at school to the Lord. My faith helps me treat others with kindness and respect, because I aim to be more like Jesus everyday. I host bible studies and always remember to be thankful for any moments with my high school friend group. I know that these moments will not last forever and the Bible says to always have thanksgiving.

How have your business classes shaped your “big plans” after graduation—any entrepreneurial ideas already brewing?
My business classes have helped shape my plans after graduation tremendously. I want to go into the business force, and the classes I have taken have introduced me to the business environment and business etiquette. I plan to own my own business after college.

Animals have your heart—if you could launch a small community project to help pets or wildlife in your area, what would it be and why?
If I could launch a small community project to help the animals in my area, I would create a project that built dog houses around my town. I understand that I cannot save every single stray, but my heart breaks for any animal that has to sleep outside at night. I hate seeing animals outside with no shelter during a storm or cold day. If I had the chance to give them a place to sleep with a roof, I would build them frequently throughout my town.

“There’s nothing sweeter than the South.” What Southern tradition, food, or value feels most like home to you—and how do you hope to carry that into your future?
Southern values that feel most like home to me include community gatherings, the sweet tea, and activities when bored. I love our local community gatherings because I get to connect with everyone in my hometown and support any small businesses around me. These gatherings are filled with music and food that make my heart happy. I love sweet tea so much; no matter how up north I travel, the sweet tea is always better in the south. Activities that I personally love that we do in the south include riding ATVs down dirt roads, hunting, and fishing.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
I found my photographer, Cassidy, through Facebook. I saw she was local and I loved her photos, so I immediately booked a session with her. Ever since that first session, I knew she was going to be the one to do my senior photos. I am very blessed to be a member of her Rep team. I love getting closer with the girls and Cassidy every session. If I tell Cassidy a vision for a photo shoot, she makes it come to life! She always hypes me up and has become such a big impact in my life.

You’re on the Cassidy Sue Photography Senior Rep Team—what shoot or concept made you feel most confident, and what did you learn about personal branding from it?
The photoshoot with Cassidy Sue Photography that made me feel the most confident would definitely be my solo session with Cassidy. Any idea or pose I had, Cassidy brought to life. After so many amazing senior sessions, I learned that I like my personal branding to portray me as a warm, bright, feminine, and natural person. I enjoy the photos of myself that tell others how much I love nature and wearing dresses to match the beautiful location of my photoshoot. I try to aim for photos that show off my bold, friendly personality.

Tell us about the Rep Team you belong to at Cassidy Sue Photography.
Our Rep Team is made up of 13 amazing girls who come together to represent Cassidy Sue Photography. It’s all about making new friends, doing fun activities, and creating unforgettable memories with girls your age—all while repping Cassidy’s photography! From group shoots and creative sessions to bonding events and behind-the-scenes fun, this team is about more than just photos—it’s about community, confidence, and connection. My favorite thing about the Rep Group is building friendships with all of the amazing girls.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
A favorite memory with Cassidy would definitely be our first Rep photo shoot. The building was full of laughter and Cassidy let us take so many silly photos.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine for the opportunity for a scholarship and new adventures. I love trying new things and stepping out of my comfort zone!

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I win a scholarship, I will use the money to help pay for the multiple college degrees I am wanting. I take education and my future very seriously, and I know that this scholarship would help out tremendously financially.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
I would like to thank Cassidy Winberry for capturing my senior year for me, my family for always cheering me on, my sister for always giving me the best advice, and my boyfriend, Brayden, for being my number one supporter through everything.

What is up next for you that you are super excited about?
Up next for me that I am super excited about is applying for colleges!

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be where you are today?
Put your faith in Jesus because he will never fail you!

Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?
My hidden talent is that I can sing the entire Hamilton Broadway play.

Who do you find inspiring?
I find my mom and dad inspiring because no matter how many hardships they have faced, they never stopped providing the world for me and my siblings!

What about you inspires others/why do you think you are inspiring?
I believe that my drive for success is inspiring. I say this because no matter what I am facing, I always am determined to do my very best at it. I believe that this mindset has helped me so much with my journey.

Addison Stratton

Picture

Addison Stratton – Texas
Nomination & Photography by Angie Read Photography
Issue 94 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Addison is inspiring because of the joy she exudes from working hard at her many interests. She is President of the mother/daughter charity organization -- Legacy League, co-captain on Varsity cheer, a student athletic trainer, oboe and sax player, National Honor Society member, and competitive and musical theater dancer. Addi has studied dance for 15 years and competed with her team for 10 years. She does all this while maintaining her grades to prepare her to study sports medicine in college. Addi gains strength from youth group studies, relationships with her friends and family, and giving back to her community.

Photography by Angie Read Photography

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?
I have many interests, and I am thankful I go to a school that allows me to spend time doing all of them. I am also thankful to my teachers and coaches for supporting me. I also started attending a youth group with some friends recently, and spending time with them studying my faith has inspired me to look beyond just my family and friends for support. I am so appreciative of meeting this group, pastor, and church.

What else would you like to talk about?
I am also inspired by my dance team and teachers. I have been dancing since I was 3 years old. Being a dancer has taught me discipline and brought me some of my best friends who I know will be my friends my entire life. When I am dancing, I love to express myself in different ways on stage. My favorite style of dance is contemporary.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I could talk forever about athletic training. I hope to work with athletes in training or sports medicine, and what I learn from our coaches and trainers at school motivates me to want to learn more. Athletes have to take care and recover their bodies on every level from little kids to elite professionals. I have learned through my own dancing how important it is to take care of your body and how an injury can set you back forever or for just a little while. I can’t wait to keep learning.

Your schedule spans cheer, dance, music, NHS, and Legacy League—what does a “busy but balanced” week actually look like for you, and how do you decide what gets priority when everything collides?
I have a set schedule each weekday where each activity has its place depending on the day whether it is cheer, football, band practice, game day routines, dance rehearsals, or volunteering. If it doesn’t go as planned, I give priority to where I have leadership responsibilities or receive a grade for attendance or participation. My teachers and coaches expect me to split my time evenly in those situations, and as long as I do that, I have their support.

Which teacher or coach has most shaped the way you see yourself as a leader, and can you share a moment or piece of feedback that changed you?
Alexa Thibodeax, my band director. She is so smart and so funny. She has a dry sense of humor, like me. She’ll call you out when you are slacking, but in a humorous way. A rule of band is we don’t not walk back to our sets during practice. One day I was walking, and she called me out. She said, “Addi, you are walking. I thought you were an athlete?” Everyone got a little laugh at my expense, but the entire band was reminded, we don’t walk. We run. It’s part of our discipline to be better.

You’ve found a wider support system through youth group—what lesson or conversation there has stuck with you, and how has it influenced how you lead or show up for friends?
My youth group has a group chat with the high school girls. It is another support system that is constantly there. If someone needs extra prayers, it’s a way to reach out at any minute. We can find out about people’s family or friends are doing, who are sick, who needs to be uplifted. We can be there for each other instantly.

You’ve danced since age three—tell us about a contemporary piece you loved performing: what story were you telling, and what did you learn from it?
My solo last year. I choreographed it myself to a song called Just Last Week, which was only spoken word. It is about how depression can seep into every part of your life even when you are not expecting it and can be so severe, it can lead to suicide. It taught me to be more aware of myself and my feelings in the moment. My most special award last year was when a judge gave me a personal award for my story telling, which was the entire point of picking that song.

What are a few team rituals or habits your dance team uses to stay grounded—mentally and physically—during competition season?
We pray in a circle before going on stage and sickle our foot (which dancers know can cause injuries when doing it on stage, so it’s just for the circle). My team also has a snack bucket just for us with our favorite snacks.

As a student athletic trainer, what are three simple injury-prevention or recovery habits you wish every teen athlete practiced—and how have you built them into your own routine?
(1) Always stretch. Never exercise with cold muscles. (2) Always have salt when doing cardio, specifically to recover from cramps. I personally like pickle juice. (3) Get enough sleep at night and eat well. Your body needs fuel.

Share a time you faced a setback or injury in dance or cheer. How did you approach recovery, and what did you change in your training afterward?
I dislocated my shoulder doing a stunt for cheer last year during a competition. My doctor and the trainers at school put me on a physical therapy program to recover, and I practiced my exercises every day. Unfortunately, I had to change my position in cheer to not risk permanent injury or surgery in the future. It is strange not being a base any longer for my last cheer season, but my coach supported this and has given me opportunities to try other things.

Looking ahead to sports medicine, which area currently fascinates you most (biomechanics, PT, athletic training, nutrition, etc.), and what steps are you taking now—classes, shadowing, certifications—to explore it?
Athletic training! I am a student trainer at school where I can learn hands on and am taking the athletic training class. I am applying to colleges with that type of major to further my education. I hope to also be a student trainer in college.

You play oboe and sax—how has musicianship (breath control, rhythm, phrasing) influenced your performance in dance and cheer?
It’s actually flip flopped; dance influenced my musicianship. Dance teaches you breath control, especially in lyrical dance when you have to breath at the right times and as part of the movements. Tap and jazz taught me rhythms and phrasing that can be used in playing my music.

As President of Legacy League, what project or event are you most proud of, and what did it teach you about servant leadership and working alongside moms and daughters in your community?
As President of Legacy League, I get to work with my mom to plan the monthly meetings and make sure the organization runs smoothly, but what I love the most is volunteering. My favorite is to call bingo for residents of a retirement community. This simple task means a lot to them. They appreciate us coming and taking time out of our days to spend with them. We volunteer in teams, and our moms are always there with us to make sure it runs smoothly. The residents are so funny. They really love their Bingo!

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
I found Angie because other dancers at my studio have used her for their senior pictures. I’ve known for many years that I wanted to use her because of how creative she is and how she brought out the most amazing features of my friends. I wanted that experience for myself, and I am so happy to have it.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
My senior photographer, Angie, nominated me. My favorite memory so far is our beach photo shoot. My mom and I were looking forward to this photo shoot most, and it was everything we hoped. It did start to rain at the end, but Angie made it work. Angie is creative and always makes me feel at ease when she takes my pictures. I also love talking with her about any subject. She makes it easy to smile when I am with her.

Are you a part of a model team with your photographer, and if so, tell us about it.

I am part of Angie’s model team (Angie Read Photography). She has organized events for us, more than just pictures. We made cards for Meals on Wheels and will take a self-defense class. I joined with a friend from dance, but there are other girls from school who also joined. I have been able to meet more people I didn’t expect and have gained new friends.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine to share how amazing Angie is with others and to have a chance to say to others that if you have interests in and passion about many things like I do, you can do it. It takes focus and an organized calendar, but if you are open and honest with the groups you are involved with, they will support you and work with you. I know I will look back on my time growing up, especially in high school, and feel happy about all of my time, experiences, and friendships.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I win a scholarship, I will put it towards college. I hope to go out of state to school, and I am applying for scholarships to help me do that.

What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today?
Head trainer for the Houston Texans.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
Thanks to God, first, for helping me find perseverance to do the things I enjoy. Also, thanks to my parents for helping me do all the things I want to do. They spend a lot of time and money on me.

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?
I am the oldest of three sisters. We all dance at the same studio, so we spend a lot of time together. This year, for my senior year, we will compete a trio together. We've been waiting for my baby sister to be old enough, and for my last year, she finally is!

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
I would be watching a history documentary while doing a puzzle.

What is up next for you that you are super excited about?
College and rushing a sorority. My mom was in a sorority and made lots of friends when she moved away from home to college. I hope to find a place like that for me, too.

What is the hardest thing you have ever accomplished, and how did you do it?
Figuring out my skin care. I have eczema, and there is no cure, just ways to manage it. It’s a daily struggle. I have a great doctor and am thankful for advancements in medicine.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be where you are today?
Do all the things that interest you, but be ok to take things off the list if you need to. Be open and honest with your teachers and coaches. If you need help, ask for it because no one can read your mind. And keep a planner!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years/what are your plans?
I will have graduated from college and be in my first year of medical school.

What is your favorite activity or pastime that was not in your nomination?
Puzzles and a good binge show.

3 Things on your bucket list
(1) Travel Europe; (2) live in a different county for a while; and (3) really learn another language, not just classes in school.

Who do you find inspiring?
Michelle Obama. She supports children, human rights, and has an accomplished career. She is smart, wholesome, and funny.

What about you inspires others/why do you think you are inspiring?
I appreciate what was said about me in my nomination. I don’t always look at myself that way, but I appreciate that others do. I am a master at managing my schedule, though

Claire Notz - Wisconsin
Nomination by Pattie Notz
Photography by Laura Lynn Rhode Photography
Issue 94 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Claire Notz is an inspiring teen whose drive, kindness, and dedication set her apart from the rest. Whether through academics, athletics, or community involvement, Claire shows resilience and a strong work ethic, balancing responsibilities with grace. She is passionate about making a difference, holding a board of directors position with a local non-profit organization to provide resources and reduce the stigma around mental health struggles. After high school, she plans to pursue a degree in psychology, continuing her passion for helping others and making a meaningful difference in the world. She is admired for leading her life with kindness.
Photography by Laura Lynn Rhode Photography

You serve on the board of a mental-health nonprofit—what motivated you to take on that responsibility, and what’s one decision or project where your voice truly shaped the outcome?
I was motivated to accept this position because I’ve seen firsthand how mental health struggles impact teens, including myself, and I wanted to be part of the solution. It is always powerful to see how my perspective could make resources feel more approachable and less intimidating for others my age.

Tell us about a moment you helped reduce stigma at school or in your community. What did you do, and what changed for the people involved?
At school, I am a member of the Hope Squad- Peer Lead Suicide Prevention Group, where I started open conversations around mental health by sharing resources and encouraging peers to speak up without shame. By normalizing those conversations, I saw people become more willing to ask for help instead of staying silent. It reminded me how small actions—like starting the conversation—can create lasting change.

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?
My energy, compassion, creativity, and empathy. I possess the ability to bring people together and uplift my peers with authenticity. I am not afraid to think outside of the box, take initiative, stand up for what I believe in, and chase my dreams with determination. My curiosity about the people and world around me fuel me and I hope to turn my passion for helping others into a lifelong mission.

What else would you like to talk about?
I would like to talk about the power of resilience and personal growth. Life doesn't always go to plan, but I have learned that challenges can shape you into a stronger and better version of yourself. I strive to use mistakes as lessons, staying motivated and continuing forward. I feel confident that I would not be the person I am today if it weren't for the experiences I've had, even the bad ones. Resilience is what allows us to grow into the best versions of ourselves.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
Anything related to psychology or the human mind. I love understanding why people think, feel, and behave the way they do. I could talk forever about how experiences shape us, how the brain processes things, and how mental health impacts everyday life. I enjoy learning new perspectives and learning how I can help others through compassion, support, and understanding. I view psychology as a way to make sense of the world and a tool to help others.

Share a challenge that didn’t go as planned. What reframing or habit helped you turn it into growth, and what did you learn about yourself?
There have been times when events or moments in my life didn’t turn out the way I imagined. Instead of seeing it as failure or a set back, I reframed it as a learning opportunity. I realized that not everything has to be perfect to make an impact, and that resilience is about adapting and moving forward. That mindset helped me grow more confident in myself.

When a friend opens up about mental-health struggles, how do you support them while keeping healthy boundaries and guiding them toward appropriate resources?
I listen first without judgment, letting them know they are not alone. Then, I encourage them to seek professional help or talk with a trusted adult, because I know I can’t fix everything myself. By being a supportive friend while also pointing them toward the right resources, I can care for them without overstepping my own limits.

You balance academics, athletics, and service with grace—what systems or rituals keep you centered on busy weeks, and how do you reset when things unravel?
I stay centered by keeping a routine, setting priorities, and making sure I carve out time for self-care, even if it’s just a few quiet minutes. When things get overwhelming, I reset by stepping back, taking a breath, reminding myself why I started in the first place, and what I am working towards. That perspective helps me regain balance and keep moving forward.

What’s a common myth about teen mental health you’d like to debunk, and what evidence or experiences have shaped your view?
A common myth is that teens who seem “happy” or “successful” don’t struggle with mental health. In reality, anyone can be going through challenges behind the scenes, no matter how put-together they look. Through my own experiences and those of my peers, I’ve learned that checking in on people, creating safe spaces to talk, and simply being kind is essential, because you never truly know what someone might be going through.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
Laura had done pictures for one of my friends and I loved how natural they looked. Since she is local, it was easy to connect with her and form the beginning of the experience she felt more like a friend than just a photographer. She made the entire experience comfortable and fun, helping me to feel confident and like myself in front of the camera. Her positive energy and genuine personality turned the session into more than just photos.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
My mother is the strongest person I know. She has endured countless setbacks and continues to try and be the best version of herself for her family. He resilience inspires me daily. She has taught me the value of hard work and determination. No matter the challenge she continues pushing forward, while still finding time to support me and my dreams.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine to motivate others by sharing my storing. This opportunity will allow me to inspire teens to overcome hardships, believe in their dreams, and keep pushing forward. More than anything else I want other teens to know that there is always more to their story, never give up. Each person creates their own path, and I want to show others that it is possible to do anything you put your mind to.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I win a scholarship, I will use the money to help pay for my education. College is expensive and this will help reduce financial stress and allow me to focus on my studies. My education is very important to me, and this will only help my dreams become more obtainable.

What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today?
My dream job would be working as a psychologist, specializing in helping teens and young adults navigate mental health challenges. I would love to create safe spaces where people feel supported, understood, and empowered to grow into the best versions of themselves. I would also potentially like to specialize in helping teens and young adults navigate grief after the loss of a loved one.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
I would like to thank my family for always being my biggest supporters. I would also like to thank my best friend, her strength, resilience, and constant encouragement inspire me every day. I’m also grateful to my teachers mentors who have believed in me and pushed me to keep chasing my goals.

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?
I want to remind others that it’s okay to not have everything figured out right away. Life is about learning, growing, and finding your own path. Every challenge is an opportunity to build resilience, and every small step forward matters. Also, it’s okay not to always be okay, you are so loved, and your story is not over. Keep pushing, keep working to become the best version of yourself. I am proud of everyone one of you.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
I would likely be spending time with my family or friends, they make doing nothing feel like the best thing.

What is up next for you that you are super excited about?
I’m excited to finish my senior year strong; enjoy all the special moments, and then prepare for college, where I’ll start my journey toward a psychology degree.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be where you are today?
Stay true to yourself, work hard, and never give up when things get tough—challenges make you stronger. Even when things get rough, it always gets better.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years/what are your plans?
In five years, I see myself in college, pursuing a psychology degree.

What is your favorite activity or pastime that was not in your nomination?
I love fishing, it allows me to relax and spend time with my friends. There is also no better feeling than the feeling of a fish on your line!

3 Things on your bucket list
Travel to both Greece and New York City, go skydiving, and start a nonprofit dedicated to teen mental health.

What about you inspires others/why do you think you are inspiring?
I think others find me inspiring because I stay determined through challenges, and use my voice to make a difference.

Aditi Chhawacharia - Texas
Nomination & Photography by Anisha Keerthi
Issue 93 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Aditi Chhawacharia is a passionate student who uses technology to create positive change. She developed CyberBear, an online safety platform reaching 5K+ students in 45 countries, including 300+ rescued child laborers through school partnerships. She founded McKinney’s first Youth Tech Council, partnering with the local government to build tech for 200,000+ residents. Through her nonprofit Project Ruby, Aditi mentors 100+ girls in leadership and service. As President of her school’s Girls Who Code Club, she inspires younger students to explore STEM. Aditi has won international hackathons, is a DECA ICDC Finalist, and teaches programming to children.
Images by Ajay Chhawacharia

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?
I built a website for 3FTL, a Texas nonprofit supporting firefighters with PTSD, giving them easy access to mental health resources - now with 15K+ views and 4K+ users. As a research intern at University of Texas Human-Centered Cyber-Physical Systems Lab, I developed a posture recognition system that protects privacy by using WiFi signals and visual data instead of invasive wearables to monitor posture and reduce back pain. I’m submitting our paper to conferences this fall. I’m also a UC Berkeley AI Policy Fellow and have conducted independent AI governance research and debated AI risks with graduate students.

What else would you like to talk about?
I’d love to share my passion for blending technology with creativity. To me, coding is like art, you start with a blank canvas and build something that didn’t exist before. Whether it was planning out CyberBear’s interactive internet safety games on a Google Doc at 3AM or working on my latest app, I see tech as a way to bring imaginative ideas to life and help my community. My dream is to keep building tools that not only solve problems, but also inspire and connect people through innovation.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
At 12, I realized most CEOs among tech giants were men and watching movies with women empowerment would excite me. I learned only 10.6% of Fortune 500 leadership roles are held by women, a statistic that deeply bothers me. Many girls have so much to offer but often feel uncomfortable entering certain fields due to their environment. This inspired me to found Project Ruby, a nonprofit addressing the leadership gap by pairing girls with mentors (“big sisters”) guiding them to become confident leaders. We’ve mentored 100+ girls and connected 300+ with opportunities, empowering them to start their own initiatives.

CyberBear reached 5K+ students in 45 countries—how did you localize content and build trust with schools across different cultures, and what rollout tactic worked best?
When I reached out to schools in India focusing on teaching the underprivileged, they were interested but wanted content for children with limited resources. Many poor children don't have regular access to email or computers, but the child psychologist told me that a lot of the kids were on social media and the parents encouraged the behavior, thinking the kids are becoming "famous" but in reality are victims to lack of knowledge and harmful comments. Based on this information, I adapted and added new levels 4 & 5 to CyberBear focused on social media to help best change the lives of these students. To build trust, I had multiple meetings, sent them updates and asked them for advice and shared examples of impact statistics. Through this approach, I was able to partner with 3+ schools in India and teach over 400+ child laborers.

You’ve won hackathons and are a DECA ICDC finalist. Walk us through a project’s journey from problem statement to prototype to “go-to-market”—and one mistake you’d warn future teams to avoid.
When I launched Idore, my site for K-pop merchandise, the problem was clear: fans struggled to access trending items due to shipping and pricing. I built the site on Squarespace, integrated Stripe, and partnered with merchants across continents to make products accessible. It was my first time handling both the tech and business sides, and I learned as much from mistakes as from wins. My advice to teens: don’t wait for perfection. Release a simple version, get feedback, and grow step by step — perfection comes later.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
After winning my DECA Texas competition, my school wanted to honor all state winners with a post. Since I didn’t have a professional headshot, I arrived early one Monday morning, dressed in DECA attire: a blazer, white tank, and slacks. Our school’s Yearbook teacher runs a photography classroom, so I had a professional photoshoot there to get my headshot ready. I loved the experience because I had always wanted a polished photo for my LinkedIn profile, and this opportunity gave me exactly that. It made me feel confident and prepared for Internationals.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
The person who nominated me is Anisha, one of my best friends and a mentee in Project Ruby. What I love most is how she’s like a mini version of me, and how quickly we connected. Even though I’ve only known her for a year, it feels like much longer. We are so close and I love having so much fun in class together, how we laugh at literally everything, and working on goals together. Having her in my life reminds me of the impact mentoring can have and how meaningful those close bonds are.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I want to show to young women in STEM that anything is possible! In my tech journey, be it my CS classes or projects, I faced lots of social rejection and doubt. Many didn’t believe in me and looked down on me, not believing a girl could code projects or do coding competitions. Now, I hold 3 professional certifications, have partnered with schools and governments, and do numerous advocacy work. I would love to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine in the hope that I can inspire at least one girl to pursue STEM.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I win a scholarship, I'll reinvest every dollar into scaling CyberBear's impact globally. While my platform already serves 5,000+ users across 45 countries, millions of children and elderly worldwide remain vulnerable to digital threats. The scholarship money will fund multilingual content creation, partnerships with international NGOs, and development of advanced features like AI-powered phishing detection. I'll also expand our reach to underserved communities who need digital literacy most. Every dollar invested in CyberBear multiplies into thousands of people protected from online predators, scams, and misinformation worldwide.

Wearing both AI policy and builder hats: if you could pass one policy for K-12 districts about AI, what would it be—and how would you implement it so it helps teachers, not just adds rules?
AI is everywhere, and we can’t ignore it. If I could pass one policy, it would be for K–12 districts to vet AI tools and run pilot programs where teachers co-design how they’re used — for lesson planning, adaptive practice, or grading support. That way, AI becomes a real helper to both teachers and students, not just another mandate

Project Ruby pairs girls with “big sisters.” What training or playbook do mentors receive, and how do you track outcomes (confidence, leadership roles, launched projects) over time?
We pair girls with mentors who share their interests or fields, creating stronger connections. Progress is tracked through regular checkpoints, a shared spreadsheet, and mentee reports highlighting accomplishments. This helps us measure growth in confidence, leadership, and launched projects while identifying where extra support is needed. Above all, we are evolving.

What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today?
My dream job would be to found my own Technology company and serve as CEO, where I can constantly lead a team to make technology products that help people.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
You would find me working on my YouTube Studio. I love creating content as hobby.

What is up next for you that you are super excited about?
I’m really excited to be finishing high school and starting the next chapter of learning, building and collaborating. I can’t wait to dive deeper into computer science, work on new projects, and explore ways technology can have a positive impact.

What is the hardest thing you have ever accomplished, and how did you do it?
The hardest thing I’ve accomplished was progressing through DECA. It demanded consistent focus, long hours, and juggling a rigorous workload, but I loved it and stayed committed. I won my district in the first year, advanced to state the next, and became an ICDC finalist in my third year. The experience taught me perseverance and how to chase a passion even when it’s challenging

Elorah Holland

Picture

Elorah Holland – Alabama
Nomination by Cheona Holland
Photography by Yellow Hammer Photography
Issue 94 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Elorah Holland is inspiring because she treats everyone with respect with the authenticity that comes from an old soul. She is vibrant and full of energy with the biggest smile. She is not only beautiful on the outside but she has a deep beauty that glows from the inside out. She sets goals for herself and has the confidence and grit to meet those goals. The only thing that may outshine her caring nature is her passion for her family values.

Photography by Yellow Hammer Photography
People describe you as having an “old soul.” What everyday choices or habits show that in action?
I feel like I have many habits that show this in action, but my top three are how patient and kind I am towards the children I babysit and watch in the nursery at church; my love for cooking and baking, I love to cook up a good homemade meal and surprise my family or even whip up some sweet treats for them after a long day; and lastly how I like to sit in my robe in the morning or evening watching the news with my warm cup of coffee.

What’s a recent goal you set —and what gritty, step-by-step actions did you take to reach it?
I recently set a goal for myself to buy a laptop for my school and future college life. The gritty, step-by-step actions I took for this were taking fifty dollars out of my paycheck and setting it aside to create my total amount that I owe towards the laptop. To achieve this, I told myself that I would need to spend less on my wants and focus solely on my needs.

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
One aspect that my nomination does not capture is my vibrant outlook on life and my animated personality! I approach each day with enthusiasm, eager to embrace new experiences and connect with others, all while letting my natural cheerfulness shine through.

Share a moment when your animated, cheerful energy turned a tough situation around for someone else.
A few years ago, my family and I were going on vacation to the beach, and my mom missed the exit to get there. We started freaking out. My mom did not realize she had missed the exit. I started looking at my photos and realized that I had taken a picture of the exact exit we had to take. I made a joke saying, "I guess mom isn't the only nonobservant one." The whole car broke out into laughter, realizing it was a silly mistake.

What else would you like to talk about?
I am excited to share my aspiration of pursuing a degree in business and marketing, which I believe will be essential in helping me achieve my dream of opening my own coffee shop. This venture is not just about serving coffee; it is about creating a warm, family friendly and inviting space where the community can gather, enjoy high-quality brews, and experience exceptional service. I envision a coffee shop that combines innovative marketing strategies with a personal touch, allowing me to cultivate a loyal customer base and bring my passion for coffee to life.

Which family value will be the cornerstone of your coffee shop’s culture, and how will guests feel it the moment they walk in?
The cornerstone of my coffee shop’s culture will be a strong work ethic, which fosters dedication among staff and pride in their craft. Customers will sense this commitment as our baristas efficiently craft drinks and food. Additionally, we will emphasize honesty and loyalty, ensuring a trustworthy environment where customers’ needs are prioritized. By promoting transparency and dependability, we aim to build lasting relationships with patrons, making each visit feel valued and appreciated.

Paint your opening day: the vibe, playlist, greeting, and one signature drink that tells your brand’s story.
On our opening day, our coffee shop oozes a warm, inviting vibe filled with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and cheerful colors. We greet guests with "Welcome to our shop!" and offer kids fun stickers or cookie samples. Our playlist features light acoustic melodies and nostalgic tunes that everyone can enjoy. Our signature drink, "Mama's Latte,” blends espresso, steamed oat milk, lavender, and vanilla, symbolizing the warmth and connection my mom gave me. Each cup comes with a card sharing its story, inviting families to create their own cherished memories in a space that feels like home.

Menu meets marketing—describe a seasonal “food + coffee” pairing and exactly how you’d promote it in-store and online.
A seasonal food we would offer is our “Monster Mash Pancakes.” This would be a blend of our homemade pancakes, covered in cherry syrup, blackberry syrup, and apple syrup, topped with whipped cream and a set of fake vampire teeth for the Halloween season. The perfect drink to pair with this seasonal food is “Dracula's Blood,” a blend of our Sprite with cherry syrup, topped with vanilla cold foam and red sprinkles. To promote online, we would create social media content and collaborate with big brands. To promote in-store, we would display giant posters featuring our new seasonal items.

Community hub plans: what recurring event (study nights, open mic, entrepreneurship mornings, etc.) would you host and why?
I would host weekly "Entrepreneurship Mornings" at my shop to empower aspiring business owners and stimulate local economic growth. Each session would feature guest speakers sharing their experiences and practical advice, followed by networking opportunities for attendees to connect and collaborate. We could also include workshops on essential skills like marketing and finance management, ensuring participants leave with actionable knowledge. This supportive environment would not only build confidence among entrepreneurs but also foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, benefiting the entire community.

Quality and ethics matter—how will you choose your beans and measure sustainability, freshness, and consistency?
When choosing beans, it’s crucial to prioritize quality and ethics. I would source from reputable farms with certifications, ensuring sustainable practices and fair labor. Freshness is key, so I would look for recent roast dates rather than sell-by dates, as beans are best used shortly after roasting. Consistency can be achieved by partnering with suppliers known for quality control and stable growing conditions. By balancing taste with ethical sourcing and sustainability, I can ensure a superior product while supporting responsible farming practices.

Business brain: which marketing metric would you obsess over in year one (e.g., repeat visits, conversion from socials), and what’s your play if it dips?
In year one, I would focus on conversion rates from social media, as they are crucial for establishing a solid business foundation. If conversions dip, I’d analyze the customer journey to identify drop-off points, refine our audience targeting, and enhance content to better engage users. Running A/B tests on ad elements and implementing vigorous follow-up strategies for engaged non-converters would also be essential. Additionally, seeking feedback from visitors can provide valuable insights to shape our approach. These strategies would help not only address the dip in conversions but also strengthen connections with our audience.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I could talk about food forever. I’m always eager to explore new cuisines and discover the delightful flavors they have to offer. There’s something thrilling about tasting exotic dishes, each one telling a unique story through its ingredients and spices. Whether it's savoring the warmth of a rich curry or indulging in the delicate balance of a well-crafted sushi roll, each experience is a delicious adventure waiting to unfold.

Food adventurer time: what dish from another cuisine taught you a life lesson—and how will that lesson shape you as a leader and future owner?
A dish that taught me a life lesson was crab legs; they once intimidated me with their spiky shells and odd shape. However, after trying them during a family beach trip, I was amazed by their sweet, tender meat and rich garlic butter. This experience taught me to embrace new flavors and adventures beyond my comfort zone.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
Ever since I was a little girl, I would spend hours gazing at my photographer's page, mesmerized by the amazing images he shared. The models he showcased, with their captivating expressions sparked a dream within me to become one of them someday. What I cherish most about this art form is the incredible freedom it offers to express our unique personalities, allowing each person to tell their own story through a single frame. The creativity involved in capturing an individual’s essence is truly magical, and I long to be part of that world.

Are you a part of a model team with your photographer, and if so, tell us about it.
I am a part of the senior modeling crew with Yellowhammer Photography, and it has been a fantastic experience. I was selected during my junior year of high school, which is unique because mostly only seniors are chosen. My experience has been quite amazing because I have had the opportunity to meet different individuals from other schools, which I would not have known otherwise, without the modeling crew. It has been neat getting to know the unique personalities of each model.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
One of my favorite memories with the person who nominated me is the delightful shopping sprees we would embark on together. The air would be filled with our laughter as we explored vibrant boutiques, filled with colorful clothes and sparkling accessories. We’d try on an array of outfits, twirling and striking silly poses in front of mirrors, our giggles echoing through the stores. After our stylish adventures, we would head to scenic locations for fun photoshoots, capturing the joy of the day and creating memories that still bring a smile to my face.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I hope to inspire younger girls, demonstrating to them that with determination and courage, they can achieve anything their hearts desire. I want to show them the limitless possibilities that exist when you believe in yourself and chase your dreams with passion and resilience.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
I plan to save my money and issue it towards furthering my education in marketing and business. This investment will enable me to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in my career and bring my entrepreneurial dreams to life.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
My family has significantly influenced my life. My parents encourage me to pursue my passions in an environment that makes my dreams feel achievable. My siblings act as both friends and motivators, pushing me to improve while reminding me that mistakes are part of growth. Even my extended family provides support and valuable insights during challenging times. Each family member relays essential values like resilience, kindness, and hard work. I'm grateful for their profound impact on my journey and for shaping who I am today.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
You would find me cozied up in my bed with my robe and blankets, watching Gilmore Girls.

What is the hardest thing you have ever accomplished, and how did you do it?
Being selected for the yearbook is very hard because six to twelve are selected out of fifty to eighty applicants. To do this I wrote my answers thoroughly and explained why I would be a great fit for the team.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be where you are today?
No matter what anyone says, set a goal and achieve it, no matter how hard it seems to achieve.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years/what are your plans?
I see myself being a business owner of my small town coffee shop.

What is your favorite activity or pastime that was not in your nomination?
My favorite of all time is shopping, I could shop until I drop.

Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?
My artistic talents such as writing poems and taking pictures.

3 Things on your bucket list
Travel the world, meet Nick Saban, zipline through the Amazon Rainforest

Who do you find inspiring?
All the independent women in my family.

What about you inspires others/why do you think you are inspiring?
I am a very goal oriented person who likes to achieve what is unachievable.

Chloe Meiners

Picture

Chloe Meiners – Washington
Nomination by Angie Meiners
Photography by Sunny Wright Photography
Issue 94 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Chloe Meiners is fearless in pursuing her dreams and creating opportunities to excel in so many different areas. She is an athlete with an incredible academic record, Her leadership ability shines through as she constantly challenges herself and explores new opportunities while encouraging and empowering her friends to pursue new opportunities and try new things. It is her super power. When she fails, it is her stepping stone to do better, be better. She has a great sense of humor and a touch of sarcasm that keeps things real.
Photography by Sunny Wright Photography

Turning Failures into stepping stones is a fantastic thought process. What did you change the next time?
A recent challenge, is when I totally got destroyed at track meet and lost a very important race. I had to reflect on how to improve and get my times up for the next season. It also made me really miss soccer and realign my priorities to improve and train to be better in both sports.

Share a time you nudged someone out of their comfort zone. What happened, and what did you learn as a leader?
I don’t really nudge people out of there comfort zone, I encourage them to take risks or support them to take the next step. An example would be on the soccer field, I always want someone to dribble, shoot, or make the right pass and make the most of their opportunities. I might guide them or cheer them on depending on what they need to just go for it.

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?
One of my most inspiring qualities is that I am always pursuing new opportunities to test my own boundaries. This mindset has led me into some of my most rewarding and entertaining accomplishments. I have performed in my school talent show the last two years, doing a dance routine with friends (we are not dancers). I joined track as a junior and was able to place in several races. I competed in DECA for the first time and was able to compete at state. By not limiting myself, I am able to continually try new things.

Performing a dance with “non-dancers” at the talent show is bold—what pushed you to say yes, and what did it teach you about leadership and vulnerability?
One of my friends really wanted to do the talent show and it sounded fun, so I said, yes! I usually have a hard time saying no, so I didn’t even give it much thought. It was fun to make the routine and I was one of the “lead dancers”. It taught me to take a chance and be vulnerable and it was fun.

DECA rookie to state—what was your event category, and what business or presentation skill did you walk away using in everyday life?
My friend and I did the partner category of buying and merchandising. I loved this because you got to pitch different business ideas. I loved creating and presenting. I think it helped me improve my public speaking and quick responses to questions, and being prepared for anything.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
Soccer! I could talk about soccer forever. I love this sport and all the activity and traveling that comes with it. What makes soccer so important to me, is all the people I get to share it with. I have met so many amazing people through soccer, I am fortunate to call a lot of them my best friends. Not only has soccer blessed me with so many amazing mentors and close friends, it has taught me collaboration and cooperation to achieve a common goal.

How does that help you connect with teammates/classmates when the stakes are high?
When stakes are high, being encouraging to your team is really important. You don’t want them to feel bad or give up if they mess up. I always tell people it’s what you do after the mistake. Recover. This helps builds bonds as a team because we all went through something stressful and difficult together.

Student-athlete + content creator + strong academics—walk us through a typical weekday. Which habits or apps keep you on track?
My normal weekdays are pretty busy and I use my planner a lot. It is the only reason I stay focused and on time with my assignments. I also use a large desk calendar that I write all my events in. During this time of year (Fall) I have high school soccer every day, whether it be a game, or practice, and I usually have some homework or project I need to get done.

What role do you naturally play on and off the field?
I’m always talking and having fun. I do focus, but at times I have to separate from my friends . I can also be serious and competitive, but I just love the team and that’s what makes me love soccer.
How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
You know when you see a picture and you are just drawn to it? When scrolling on Instagram this happened. I was just drawn to Sunny’s style. Her pictures were beautiful, not over edited, and in beautiful locations. When taking my pictures, I loved how she made sure to “capture me” and how confident she made me feel. So many of my pictures have a genuine smile and true laughter.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
My mom nominated me. She is someone I strive to be like. She is compassionate, caring, and one of the best people I know. She lifts me up constantly and never lets me doubt myself. She is always working hard, from starting her day at 5:00am with a walk to 9:00pm helping me fill out college applications. She never stops. My favorite memories with my mom are traveling to Seattle with her, we always go out to eat and shop and listen to podcasts on our drive up to Seattle. I love spending time with her and enjoy her company.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I want to be in teen magazine not only to earn a scholarship but hopefully be “inspirational” to others and show teens that even though we are young we can make an impact in the world. Every day teens impact the world in big and small ways and this magazine allows teens to share the ways they do that. I also think this would be an incredible opportunity and an enlightening new experience.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I won the scholarship, I would use it towards college. I plan on going to a 4-year university and playing sports and this scholarship would help me pursue that dream. I plan to major in biology and then get my graduate degree.

Looking ahead to college: what area of biology are you most excited to explore, and how do athletics shape the way you set your academic and career goals?
I really am not sure yet. I still have a lot of interests around biology and I am having trouble narrowing my focus. I would love marine biology or researching DNA to stop diseases, or learning about forensic biology. Being an athlete helps me be very driven I like to do things well and make sure I give my 100%.

Photography by Amanda Smith Photography

Which branch of engineering are you most drawn to right now?
At the moment, I am most drawn to civil engineering because it provides multiple job opportunities encompassing many specialties.

Walk us through a tough week when you balanced a 4.0, football/baseball, and Student Council—what did your schedule actually look like?
A tough week during my fall semester consists of advanced classes, football practice, working out, studying for tests, Friday night football games, and helping student council with fundraisers. During the spring semester, it’s baseball season, where we can have up to three to four games a week. I balance my school life and personal life by taking it one day at a time, and by not stressing about things out of my control.

Share the defining play or moment from your State Championship run—and the life lesson you took from it.
The most defining moment of our championship run was the last out of the championship game resulting in the entire team running onto the field, and dog piling at the pitcher’s mound. I learned that hard work, dedication, and discipline really do pay off in the end.

How does your faith guide your sportsmanship on the field?
My faith helps guide my sportsmanship on the field as I remember that God can be worshipped and glorified on any sports field. “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-- this is your spiritual act of worship. “ Romans 12:1

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
Another inspiring thing my nomination did not cover is my goals in life. My goals in life are special to me because I know that if I can reach them I know that I am capable of much more. One of my biggest goals is to attend a university after high school for engineering.

What else would you like to talk about?
Another inspiring thing I would like to talk about is my love for being outside. I love being outside because I get to enjoy God’s beautiful creation. Another reason I love being outside is because there is endless things to do like ride four-wheelers and dirt bikes.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
One thing I could talk about forever is my family. My family is one of the most important things in my life because they bring comfort, peace, and joy into my life, which is one thing I couldn’t thank them enough for.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
I know my photographer, Mrs. Amanda Smith, because we are both from the same small town, Seminary, Mississippi. She has taken quite a few pictures of me over the years from little league baseball, family pictures, and these recent casual football pictures. What I liked most about the experience of my last photo-shoot was the setting; it was an old parking garage.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
One of my favorite memories with the person who nominated me is when we would go shopping together and were able to spend quality time with each other.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine because it would be a new and exciting experience.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I win scholarship money I will save it to help with my college education expenses.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
Yes, I would like to thank my mom and dad for always supporting me and molding me into the person I am today.

Nomination: Lilly Kichurchak is a truly inspiring bright light in this world. Her beauty shines from the inside out, seen in every quiet act of kindness and compassion. She is one of the most selfless people I know, always putting others before herself without seeking recognition. Lilly is meant to do incredible things simply because helping others is who she is. Being her mom is the greatest gift of my life, and I’m endlessly proud of the love, strength, and grace she brings to the world.

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?
I have a deep compassion for others, often stepping in to comfort or advocate for someone without being asked. My resilience in facing challenges, both personal and academic, shows a strength that I have grown throughout the years. I lead with kindness and try to model integrity in my actions, and find creative solutions when things don't go as planned

What else would you like to talk about?
I'm excited about my future and looking forward to graduating and starting my next chapter in college.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I'm excited to go to college and earn a degree in psychology because I want to help kids and young adults. I'm passionate about supporting others through challenges and making a positive impact on their lives.
This next chapter is something I'm really looking forward to, and I'm eager to learn and grow in this field.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
My mom reached out to a friend to get the name of our photographer and I'm so glad she did! From the start, the experience was comfortable and fun. The photographer made me feel at ease and really captured genuine moments. I loved how relaxed and natural the whole session felt it truly reflected who I am.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
A favorite memory with the person who nominated me is spending time with my mom watching our favorite shows together and catching up on our day. Those moments mean a lot to me because they’re simple but full of connection and support.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
Even though it might sound cliché, I wanted to be in an issue of Inspiring Teen Magazine to encourage others to chase their dreams and goals. I believe anything is possible with determination and passion.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?

Libby Adams - North Carolina
Nomination by LeAnn Adams
Photography by Waugh 2 Waugh Photography
Issue 94 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Libby Adams is a true inspiration to others. She may be my daughter but she makes me want to be a better person every day. Libby is a Varsity Cheerleader, Advanced Choir member, Beta Club member and Student Council member; she is a competitive dancer, works part time and active with church. She is kind to everyone, has a genuine spirit, she is loyal and determined. Libby has taken enough college courses to graduate with a business certificate as well. Libby plans to attend cosmetology school and open her own hair salon with a focus on special needs children.

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?
Libby maintains a 3.8 GPA.

What else would you like to talk about?
I have always been good with kids and love watching them learn new things. The thing I enjoy most about helping kids is watching them try new things and seeing the pride in their eyes when they realize they accomplished something new.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
Since elementary school I have dreamed of being a hair stylist. Just within the past year I realized that there are little to no kid specific salons in my area. Not just that, but there are no salons at all that cater to kids with special needs. Children with sensory issues have difficulties with some of the most basic needs. Life is hard enough for these families and I believe routine hair care shouldn’t have to be hard. So now my dream is to be someone that parents can bring their kid to and feel safe with.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
At the end of my junior year I applied and was accepted to be a senior ambassador for Waugh2Waugh photography. This particular shot came from my elite solo senior session. I love how both Scott and Misty captured my idea perfectly, and how they always try to make sure you are comfortable and feel welcomed. My favorite part about this particular shoot was having my mom, dad, and boyfriend there to hype me up!

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
My Favorite memory with my mom was our clogging duet to the song “Mom” by Meghan Trainor. We spent about 2 hours a week for about 2 months together practicing and trying to figure out a dance that fit both me and her. Through the whole process it helped strengthen our relationship and made us so close.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I want to inspire others to find their passion and make it connect to their career path.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
The money would be used to help pay for college.

Kinley Hoffman

Kinley Hoffman – Texas
Nomination & Photography by Lafotography - Lindsay Franklin
Issue 94 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Kinley Hoffman is the kind of young woman who inspires everyone around her. As a varsity athlete and high school rodeo competitor, she shows up with grit, heart, and unwavering determination. In the classroom, she’s a top student, proving that excellence doesn’t stop at the arena or court. What truly sets her apart, though, is her incredible character—humble, kind, and steady. Kinley leads by example, lifts others up, and brings a quiet strength to every space she enters. She’s genuine, joyful, and one of those rare people you can’t help but love to be around. She makes everyone better.

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?
I strive to be a leader, not only by my words but also my actions. I love to encourage others, and enjoy watching them succeed! I am confident and live life to the fullest, adding as much laughter and humor to every situation that I can. My friends would say that I am loyal to the core. My most inspiring quality is that I love the Lord and I am not afraid to share my faith with others. I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home, and I shine my “light” so that others can witness God’s love!

What else would you like to talk about?
As a student at Thrall HS, I have played Varsity Volleyball, Basketball, Tennis, Golf and Track the last 3 years and have earned MVP and other district awards. I was chosen as NHS President, Student Body Vice President, and Junior Class President, as well as being a part of Student Council, FFA, and FCA. I represented my school at the 2025 FFA Rodeo in Fort Worth. I also compete in the Texas HS Rodeo Association. I take pride in my school and my community! I think getting involved in as many activities as possible can be so rewarding!

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I am passionate about my family, especially since becoming an aunt. My niece, Phoebe, was born January 10, 2025, and she has brought more joy to my life than I could ever imagine. Since her birth, I have a new perspective on life. I notice little things that I once overlooked. Family time is more precious than ever before, and I don’t take people for granted. I have always enjoyed being around babies, but spending time with Phoebe has ignited my dreams of becoming a NICU nurse. She has changed my life and I am blessed with an amazing family.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
I met my photographer, Lindsay Franklin, through a family friend that had a wonderful experience with her. Lindsay reached out to see if I would be interested in being a “Senior Rep” for her. I was really excited about the opportunity. The best part of being photographed by Lindsay is how comfortable she makes me feel. She is amazing at capturing raw emotion and really makes me feel confident in my photoshoots. Another perk to having Lindsay as my photographer is that I get the chance to get my hair and makeup done by Glam Co. They are extremely talented and super sweet.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
My photo shoots have been extremely fun with Lindsay! One of my first shoots was in Salado, and on my way over, one of my false lashes fell off. Of course, I had not grabbed my lash glue, so I panicked and texted Lindsay. She was not flustered, but calmed me down and reassured me that she would take care of it. She stopped what she was doing and ran to the store to grab some before I arrived. Lindsay is a true professional, and just wanted to make sure that I was feeling confident in the way I looked!

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I would love to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine to motivate girls to be involved, work hard, and give everything you have to others and your community. I believe that this platform would allow me to share my faith and how it has helped me to conquer many hard times in my life. I have found that staying hopeful and surrounding yourself with genuine people can help you overcome challenges. I hope that if I am given this opportunity, others can see what kind of person I am and want to be the same.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I were lucky enough to win a scholarship, I would definitely use it for college tuition. After graduation, my goal is to attend college and study medicine. I want to become a NICU nurse because I love children and I am passionate about helping others. I understand the strain that college tuition may put on my parents financially, so any scholarship I receive will be a huge blessing and very much appreciated!

Jamaira Arroyo

9/3/2025

Picture

Jamaira Arroyo – Georgia
Nomination & Photography by Beautiful Memories By Aurora
Issue 94 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Jamaira is an excellent example of what an inspiring teen is. She’s kind, talented, smart, a good friend and a leader. Her heart is demonstrated in her friendships and her volunteer work. She show cases how talented she is on the soccer field, on her dance competition team and participation in school plays. She displays her leadership skills in her school’s marching band where she doesn’t just play her saxophone but is a member of their leadership team. She does all this while still maintaining good grades and having a great attitude.

What inspiring qualities or accomplishments weren’t highlighted in your nomination?
Other accomplishments include lettering in band and winning the best choreography award in theater. Other inspiring qualities are putting others before myself and being funny.

What else would you like to talk about?
I’m the oldest of 4 siblings and I aspire to be a nurse. I’m also a very crafty person. I love to knit, crochet, and embroider, a lot of which I have taught myself.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
One thing that I could talk about forever is the band twenty one pilots. The band that made “stressed out” and “ride” has such an extensive discography that expands beyond just those two songs. Their music always has a common theme, letting you know that though things seem rough in the moment that it will be okay. From piano based music that makes you feel like a ballerina, spinning in a music box- to drum heavy music that makes you wanna jump around. They have something for everyone.

How did you find your photographer and what did you love most about the experience?
I found Ms. Aurora through a band mom and close friend who said that she has a senior photo program. Ms. Aurora never makes you feel embarrassed to be yourself and always brings a joy and happiness to the session. She bases the poses off of you as a person and really shows that she loves what she does.

What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
My favorite memory with Ms. Aurora is the beach photo shoot. She allowed me to goof around and try different tactics to get that perfect leap shot and allowed me to be myself when trying to figure out how to deal with the wind on the beach.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
When I first got accepted into Ms. Aurora’s program, I saw that one of her girls had been nominated. It let me know what kind of person that Ms. Aurora is and what she was looking for in a candidate. It showed me that she was looking for character and showed me what kind of Photographer she is.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
Winning the scholarship would be such a blessing and would go to educational expenses such as band and dance competition fees.
