Audrey Withrow – Ohio Nomination & Photography by Melanie Malicote Photography Issue 60 of Inspiring Teens Magazine
Nomination: Audrey Withrow is such an inspiring teen! I have taught Audrey dance since she was 4 years old. She is hard working, responsible, compassionate, and most importantly kind! She has been a wonderful role model to the younger students who all look up to her. Audrey is also very involved at school. She is the student body president, an aide for her school counselors and enjoys playing tennis. She also placed 4th in her state BPA competition! Audrey is a beautiful person inside and out and is the definition of an inspiring teen!
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? I'm an inducted member of the National Honor's Society. I work hard for my academics and take many college level classes at my school. I attend a Catholic school where I get to grow and deepen my faith everyday. I have had several jobs teaching tennis to young kids and working on a local, family-owned farm. I value my family and do everything I can to be a person who people can come to. I also enjoy simple things like running, reading and baking.
What would you most like to talk about in your interview? I would most like to talk about my academics and family commitments. I work hard everyday to obtain good grades and knowledge that can be used in real-life scenarios. I try to be a well rounded student, learning more and more about each subject. I also value my family over everything in my life. I believe family is the best support system you can ask for. My family is close-knit and communicative. We rely on each other and do as much as we can for the others.
If you were to present a topic to a group of your peers, what would it be and why? I would talk about mental health. I have witnessed our world suffer from the pandemic and take set-backs we never knew we would face. During that time, I spent a lot of my time finding ways to cope with the anxieties that came my way. I found new loves for running and for reading. I journaled everyday and was able to clear my head and become stronger from all of the things I encountered. The pandemic really brought fear into our world and I saw it happen to me and so many around me that I feel I could talk about it forever.
