Tell us about your faith and why it's important to you? To me my faith is important because it is the one thing I have always been able to count on. When everything around me is falling apart and I feel alone, I have always been able to lean on God and know that he is with me through all of it. My faith has helped me get through some of the darkest times in my life.
What have you learned about yourself through Jesus? I have learned a lot about my identity and who I am. I am a child of God and through him I can do anything. I have learned that spreading the gospel and sharing his love with everyone around me is super important. I learned to lean on him and cast all my worries and anxieties on him.
What is your cheer squad like and where do you fit in? How do you stand out? My cheer squad is amazing. We are all close and I share a relationship with everyone on my team. I find that I fit in almost every aspect of our team. I try to be helpful in all areas and make sure that I am keeping a positive attitude for others on the team. I think that I stand out in the aspect that they all see me as the leader on the team. They turn to me for questions and advice, and they look to me for what to do next when we are cheering.
What is a favorite memory from cheer? I don’t know that I have one specific favorite memory from cheer. I have cheered for as long as I can remember. It has been one of my favorite memories as a whole. I have made so many amazing friends through the sport and I’ve dedicated so much of me and my time to it.

Tell us about your volleyball career. I started volleyball in middle school. I joined my elementary school’s team and wanted to continue through high school. The thing I love most about volleyball is the thrill and excitement that comes after scoring.
What is a favorite accomplishment from volleyball? My favorite accomplishment is making it to and participating in the TSSAA state volleyball tournament my freshman year. We didn’t make it as far as we had wanted to but getting the opportunity to play in the environment was amazing.
How long have you been playing basketball and what position do you play? I have been playing basketball for 12 years. I play the 4 position which is a forward/post.
What do you love best about being on the team you play for? I love the family atmosphere we have created. This team has become my second family. They are all like sisters to me. They have seen me during my worst moments and also my best. I know that I can rely on them no matter what. I also love the bond that I have created with my head coach. I’ve known her for a long time and the relationship that I have built with her is something that I will forever be grateful for. She has been a rock and a huge support in my life and is always there to guide me.

How did you find and why did you choose Tosca Lopez for your photographer? Tosca has been a long time family friend and I chose her because she has taken pictures of me throughout all of my life. I love how comfortable it is to take pictures with her and how she always has amazing ideas that she wants to try. Plus, her pictures always look great.
What was your experience like? What did you love most about it? My experience was amazing. I loved how she knew what poses would fit me and how every time she found a spot or pose she liked she would get excited. She also hyped me up the whole time. Even if I felt awkward, she made sure I knew that I looked great and that the photos were amazing.
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? Leadership plays a big role in my life. Not only do I lead on the basketball court, cheer platform, volleyball court, and track. I also lead in several different organizations at my school and in my community. A few organizations that I lead in are SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions), HOSA, Mental Health Team, and FCA. Which organization do you spend the most time in and why? I spend a lot of time with the youth group at my church. I love the atmosphere and the people that I attend youth with. All my youth leaders have had such an impact on me and continue to do so every day. They have played a huge role in my life over the past year. When I lost two grandparents in the span of a week, they all made sure to text me and make sure I was doing okay. They always show the love of Christ through everything that they do, and they inspire me every day. I also spend a lot of time working with SADD. Through SADD, or Students Against Destructive Decisions, I have been able to help kids in my school. We promote mental health and the everyday safety and wellbeing of students.
What is your best leadership quality? I think that my best leadership quality is my ability to look at things objectively and be fair. I am able to see things from both perspectives. I feel like I always take into consideration what the other person might be thinking and feeling as well. This helped me to solve many conflicts and to realize when I am in the wrong in situations.
What else would you like to talk about? Something that is very important to me is my faith and relationship with God. I believe that having God in the center of your life and him being your foundation is very important to leading the life that you want to live. I love attending youth at First Baptist Gatlinburg with my friends on Wednesday nights and then attending Pathways on Sunday with my best friend. Spreading the word and the love of Jesus is so important to me and I have been so blessed to get to watch and lead others to the Lord in my community and on mission trips.
If you were to present a topic to a group of your peers, what would it be and why? The topic I would present would be the importance of mental health, because it's not only something that I have struggled with personally but also something so many people around the world have struggled with as well. In today's society we face many different challenges that can impact our mental health and with the stigma that surrounds it, it can be hard for those struggling to reach out. I think that it is a very important topic that we should not shy away from and one that we should promote the importance of.
