​Nomination: Lexi Heiser is an inspiring young leader dedicated to making a difference. A senior at Greenwood High School, Lexi has devoted her high school years to community service, volunteering with organizations like the West Texas Food Bank and the Children’s Grief Counseling Center. Her compassion shines through her work with the Faith, Hope, and Love Foundation and the PALS Program. A former athlete, Lexi exemplifies determination and adaptability, now focusing on gaining real-world business experience. Her dream of owning her own company reflects her ambition and drive to lead with purpose. Lexi’s passion and dedication inspire those around her.

Which is your favorite nonprofit to work with and why?
My favorite nonprofit to work with is the Children’s Grief Counseling Center. Supporting children as they navigate experiences similar to my own is so meaningful. Being able to contribute to their healing process and provide guidance during such a difficult time in their lives is both an honor and a deeply fulfilling responsibility.

What has surprised you the most volunteering in these organizations?
The deep sense of self-fulfillment it brings. While I set out to help others, I’ve discovered how much personal growth and joy I’ve gained in the process.

What real-world business experience are you learning that is helping to shape you as a young adult?
Through volunteering and collaborating with others, I’m learning the importance of communication, teamwork, and time management.

What have you learned about yourself in these endeavors?
I’ve learned that I’m more resilient and capable of making a positive impact than I ever thought possible.

What type of business would you like to own and where would you locate it?
My goal is to establish and lead a successful law firm in New York.

What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today?
My ideal dream job, if offered to me today, would be to work as a lawyer. I am passionate about using the law as a tool to advocate for justice, protect the rights of others, and create meaningful change.

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
I strive to balance academics, service, and personal growth, always aiming to set a positive example for those around me. My genuine care for others motivates me to find innovative solutions to challenges in my community, fostering collaboration and positivity. By embracing leadership opportunities and pursuing my dreams with focus and determination, I hope to inspire others to believe in their potential and make meaningful contributions. I want my story to show that with hard work, kindness, and a clear vision, we can create a lasting impact and leave a legacy of hope and resilience.

What leadership opportunities have you had within working with these non profits?
During my time volunteering with PALS, I had the privilege of being paired with an elementary student, where I took on the role of a mentor and role model. My responsibilities included providing guidance, support, and assistance tailored to their needs, whether it involved tutoring, offering encouragement, or simply being a compassionate listener.

How would you describe your leadership style?
I would say my leadership skill would be Affiliative: Focusing on building emotional bonds 

What else would you like to talk about?
Helping my peers build self-confidence is a mission close to my heart. I know firsthand how challenging these years can be, and I want every girl to see her unique worth and potential. Through mentorship, volunteering, and leading by example, I aim to create safe spaces where girls can feel empowered to embrace who they are. Confidence is the foundation for success, and I believe that encouraging self-belief during these formative years can change lives. My goal is to inspire young women to face challenges with courage and believe they are capable of achieving greatness. I want to always witness to my peers and remind them of the love the Lord has for them.

What advice would you give to a teen who lacks self-confidence but has big dreams to get her started towards them?
I would say, to stay true to yourself, surround yourself with supportive individuals, and prioritize self care. It’s important to recognize that setbacks are a natural part of the life. By maintaining confidence, taking consistent, small steps, and staying focused on your goals, you can steadily progress toward achieving your dreams. Success is within reach, stay determined! You got this!

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?

I have a passion for fashion and beauty because of the confidence it brings. I love helping others feel great about themselves, whether through styling, makeup, or just uplifting words. It’s something I could talk about endlessly because it’s so much more than appearances—it’s about empowerment and self expression.

How did you find your photographer? What was your experience like? What did you love most?
My mom discovered my photographer on social media after we moved to Midland, TX during my sophomore year. She’s taken my photos several times, and her work is always incredible. She has a way of making me feel beautiful and confident with her kind and caring personality. What I admire most about her is her creativity—it truly shines through in every photo she takes.

Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
To me, Inspiring Teen Magazine is a powerful platform for promoting confidence among teens. Many struggle with self-esteem due to the pressures of social media and negativity from peers. I’m grateful for the opportunity to use my words and photos in this magazine to inspire and uplift others. It’s a chance to remind teens of their worth and encourage them to embrace their unique qualities with confidence.

If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
If I win a scholarship, I would use the funds to support my college education. It would ease the financial burden on my family, enabling me to dedicate my time and energy to excelling in my chosen field. Ultimately, this scholarship would be an investment in my future, helping me acquire the knowledge and skills needed to pursue my career aspirations and make a meaningful impact in my community.
 
What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
My mom, Amber Heiser, was the one who nominated me, which means so much because she’s one of my biggest inspirations. What I admire most about her is how effortlessly she inspires others through her kindness, strength, and support.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you to get where you are today?
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my parents for helping me get to where I am today. Their unwavering support, love, and encouragement have been the foundation of my success. They have always believed in my potential, even when I doubted myself, and their guidance has shaped me into the person I am.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
You’d definitely find me curled up with a good book. Reading is my escape and my favorite way to relax.

What is up next for you that you are super excited about?
Starting college. I look forward the new academic challenges, meeting people from different backgrounds, and gaining the knowledge and skills to pursue my career goals. This next chapter represents an exciting opportunity for personal growth and independence.

What is the hardest thing you have ever accomplished, and how did you do it?
The hardest thing I have ever accomplished is learning to navigate and cope with grief. It was a deeply challenging and personal journey that required great strength and resilience. I found support through loved ones, counseling, and allowing myself to process emotions in my own time.
Overcoming grief taught me the importance of self-care, seeking help when needed, and finding ways to honor the memories of those l've lost while continuing to move forward.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be where you are today?
 Focus on your passions, stay resilient, prioritize learning and growth, build strong relationships, be yourself and never give up.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years/what are your plans?
In five years, I see myself attending law school, working hard to achieve my dream of becoming a lawyer.

What is your favorite activity or pastime that was not in your nomination?
A favorite pastime of mine is dancing. It’s an outlet that lets me channel my energy, relieve stress, and embrace creativity. Dancing brings me a sense of freedom and happiness.
