Molly Davidson – Texas
Nomination by Traci Davidson
Photography by Hayly Hext Photography
.
Nomination: Molly Davidson is a proud member of the National Honors Society and was an ambassador for the Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy, where she demonstrated leadership skills and commitment to community service. She possesses a strong moral compass, grounded in her love for God, which guides her interactions with others and influences her decision-making. What truly sets Molly apart is her individuality. She does not follow the crowd but instead embraces her uniqueness with confidence. She has an innate ability to foster friendships and create a sense of belonging among her peers.
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
One of the most inspiring things about me is my passion for working with children through swim lessons; helping them to be safe and confident in the water. It is rewarding to be part of their development; guiding them and witnessing their "aha" moments. I believe every child has the potential to succeed, and am motivated by the opportunity to help them discover their strengths, build their confidence, and reach their goals. Seeing their progress, no matter how big or small, gives me a sense of fulfillment and drives me to continue making a meaningful impact in their lives.
What else would you like to talk about?
After volunteering with the charity Prom Queen for years, me and 3 other girls were chosen to take over . Prom Queen is a charity event where we collect dresses to give to those who can’t afford one. We feel that every girl deserves to feel beautiful at prom so that is why our school started it many years ago. We have been working all year long to get donations so the girls have options to pick from. Last year we gave away 423 dresses and we hope to give even more this year.
What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
One of my biggest passions is working—whether it's in a professional setting or in any kind of meaningful project. This summer I got a job at a event center because I love weddings and I hope to be in the wedding business when I grow up. Being able to be apart of a couples “big day” is so special and I can’t wait to make a couple's dream day come true. Work, to me, isn't just about completing tasks or earning an income; it’s about using my skills, creativity, and energy to make a difference.
How did you find your photographer? What was your experience like? What did you love most?
My mom and I have watched Hayly's photography business flourish since my mom taught her daughter a few years ago. I have loved watching her turn into the "it" photographer of Lubbock, and am so blessed to have been able to work with her. During the photoshoot Hayly always made sure I was comfortable and was hyping me up the whole time. My favorite part of the experience was that even though we were working against the west Texas wind she knew how to stay positive and get some amazing shots.
Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
I would love to be featured in Inspiring Teens Magazine because it would give me the opportunity to share the lessons I've learned with others. I hope to inspire others to pursue their passions and believe in their potential. Since I will be attending Lubbock Christian University to get a business degree next year, the scholarship money would be a huge benefit.
What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
My mom was the person who nominated me and I am forever grateful for her. One of my favorite memories with her is when we were going through prom dresses for our charity event called Prom Queen. Some of these dresses have been there for 15 years and are extremely outdated. We had so much fun looking at all of the dresses and occasionally playing dress up. While we were organizing them were blasting music and dancing and singing our hearts out. She always knows how to make a boring project so much fun.
