What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?
I enjoy woodworking and making projects to sell at my aunt's store in town, as well as donating projects to our local parochial dinner auctions. I am involved in many high school sports, and like helping underclassmen learn the game. This past football season I was honored to receive the Character Award and the Last To Leave award. I have been told I have an "old soul". I Iove spending time with my grandparents and helping them as well as my dad on both our farms with making hay and taking care of our livestock.
What else would you like to talk about?
I enjoy traveling and experiencing new places.
What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I was raised on a cattle farm. We show our registered Charolais cattle at the county fairs in Southeast Missouri. I have been in 4H then FFA for 11 years. I plan to continue raising cattle through my adult life.
How did you find your photographer? What was your experience like? What did you love most?
Cara Hill was my older sisters high school photographer and has also taken our family pictures. She asked what my interest were and then based my photos on my interest. She spent lots of time making the perfect shots.
What is a favorite memory with or thoughts of the person who nominated you?
I have known Mrs. Ponder since she was my preschool teacher. My favorite memory with her was a few years ago when her and her husband were our youth counselors for the National Lutheran Youth Gathering in Houston, Texas.
Why do you want to be in Inspiring Teens Magazine?
Because I want to encourage other to go out and be active leaders in their community. I think that when teenagers see others leading it encourages them to want to be leaders themselves.
If you win a scholarship, what will you do with the money?
I plan to be a traveling lineman and recently was accepted to the Southeast Lineman Training Center. I am going to use the scholarship money towards tuition expenses.
