Nomination: My name is Rilei Hass, an optimistic and motivated senior with a passion for caring for others. This passion has led me to pursue healthcare, with plans to attend nursing school and become a NICU nurse - a goal made meaningful because I was once a NICU baby. At school, I stay involved through the golf team and organizations such as the National Honor Society, where I enjoy volunteering and serving my community. Outside of school, I love spending time with my friends and family. I am grateful to God for guiding my path and providing me with a lifelong purpose!
What inspiring qualities, achievements, or experiences about you were not mentioned in your nomination that you’d like readers to know about?
An achievement I am proud of is making it to the regional golf tournament with my team last season. It taught me a lot about leadership, discipline, and teamwork!
What goals, dreams, or projects are you currently working toward right now?
A goal I am currently working on is graduating high school and starting up college. I am super excited for this new chapter, and I also hope to start nursing school in a couple years!
What is something you feel passionate about or could talk about for hours, and why does it matter so much to you?
I feel very passionate about the phrase, "this too shall pass." It has gotten me through many tough times, and reminds me that no matter how hard a situation may be, it is only temporary. It also helps me remember to be grateful and enjoy every great moment! I believe that this quote could be used in any situation in a positive way.
How did you find your photographer, and what did you enjoy most about your experience working with them?
I found my photographer from social media. I enjoyed how he made every moment uplifting and kept the whole experience a great one, especially for such a special occasion of mine. I never stopped smiling, even off- camera!
What is one of your favorite memories with the person who nominated you, or something about them that means a lot to you?
It means a lot to me that Cameron takes his job seriously, and he really makes the experience one to remember. It's not just another day to him, and he cares about his clients' preferences more than I think other photographers do.
How did you first hear about Inspiring Teens Magazine? Why does being part of Inspiring Teens Magazine matter to you?
I heard about Inspiring Teens Magazine from my photographer and social media. Being apart of this magazine would be a great privilege, especially after seeing what other inspiring teens are featured! Knowing that I could be among them means so much to me!
If you win a scholarship through Inspiring Teens Magazine, how would you plan to use it and what goals would it help support?
I would use a scholarship from Inspiring Teens Magazine to help fund college and nursing school. It would help me reach my goals of becoming a nurse, which is something I have wanted to do since I could remember. It would help me, eventually help other people in my community!
What is something you have learned about yourself as a leader or person in the past year?
I have gone through an experience this past year that has taught me to be much more selfless. My great grandfather has depended on himself throughout his life up until this past January. He now has to be taken care of by my close family members, and it has completely changed our lifestyle. I've sacrificed a great amount of time to help take care of him, and to give my other family members a break from their hospitality. This situation has helped me learn a lot about myself. It deepens my care for others not just mentally, but physically too!
