Kaitlin Katula – Illinois

Nomination: Kaitlin Katula is a joy to work with. She is currently a senior ambassador for me and graduates high school in May of 2027. For hobbies, Kaitlin loves acting, singing, and dancing. She grew up on a competitive dance team. Kaitlin twice won best in show for her dance competitions. She also is involved in theater, Business Professionals of America, and is on the exec board of Business Professionals of America and Educators Rising. Kaitlin works as a day camp counselor and volunteers in the childcare section at church.
What other inspiring qualities, achievements, or experiences about you, not mentioned in your nomination, would you like readers to know about?
I work as a dance instructor and worked as a lifeguard. I am CPR, first aid, and AED certified.
What goals, dreams, or projects are you currently working toward right now?
Inspiring to go to college at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign or Illinois State University. Becoming an on set Teacher or a 1st/3rd grade teacher. Learning the guitar. Minor in special education.
What could talk about for hours, and why does it matter so much to you?
I could talk for hours about the tv show Full House and Fuller House. This show matters to me because of the actors and Actresses involved in shows. I grew up watching shows and love the idea the shows brings. I like the life learning lessons and it inspires me.
What is something you have learned about yourself as a leader or influencer in the past year?
As being a mentor in gym with special need kids, a teacher in the preschool at my school, and a camp counselor I have learned leaders don’t just lead they take ideas from others and are there to help people to become the best version of themselves. I have learned a lot this year of what being a leader truly means and hope to carry it on.
What is one of your favorite memories with the person who nominated you, or something about them that means a lot to you?
My photographer took pictures of me at a waterfall and inspired me to be my best self during the shoot. He is very hardworking and dedicated which also had a positive impact on me as I look forward to our future shoots.
Tell us about the person who took your photo — how did you connect, and what was that experience like?
He photographed my other family members and we reached out to him for senior photos. The experience was positive with quick responses from him and a great outcome.
How did you first hear about Inspiring Teens Magazine? Why does being part of Inspiring Teens Magazine matter to you?
I heard of inspiring teen magazines when they liked my shoot I just completed and posted on their page. I want to inspire others to become the best versions of themselves.
How will earning a scholarship through Inspiring Teens Magazine help you?
It will help me be able to pay for college and achieve my dreams of helping the future generation By being a teacher to grow students to the best versions of themselves.
