What other inspiring qualities, achievements, or experiences about you, not mentioned in your nomination, would you like readers to know about?

I strive to always be the best version of myself in everything I do. I love God, my family, and my country!

How has your faith influenced the person you are becoming?

My trust in Jesus gives me a sense of direction that keeps me focused and balanced.  I have learned to live my life in a way that reflects the love of Christ and what it means to be a Christian.

What values do you hope people recognize when they spend time with you?

I strive to always have fun and hope to always be the funniest person in the room.  I also hope that everyone sees the kindness and love that I have for them.

What goals, dreams, or projects are you currently working toward right now?

I hope to attend Auburn University and study fashion design. Currently I am concentrating on my studies and relationships with God and my family.

What inspired you to pursue fashion design as a future career?

I have always liked fashion and wanted to work for a major designer somewhere like Paris or Milan for quite a while.  The thought of designing clothes that will be worn down the runway at a major fashion week really excites me.

What type of designs or styles are you most interested in creating?

With inspiration from others I would like to design styles and outfits worn at major award shows and runway events.  However I would enjoy designing anything that young women would wear everyday and make them feel beautiful.

What could talk about for hours, and why does it matter so much to you?

Movies, music, fashion, and theater are important to me because all four allow you to express your inner self and for some that is hard to do.

How has participating in theater helped you become more confident?

It makes me come out of my comfort zone by getting in front of large groups of people and expressing myself in ways that I normally would not.

Do you have a favorite performance or theatrical experience that you'll always remember?

We performed Newsies a couple of years ago and between the cast and music it felt like we were closer than any other group I have been a part of.  This experience made me realize that the people are the difference.

What is something you have learned about yourself as a leader or influencer in the past year?

My actions are not determined by anyone other than me. I truly believe in being yourself.

What advice would you give to someone who struggles to stay true to themselves?

One day you will regret not being you.  God made you perfectly and being anything other than what you are is not necessary.

How do you hope to inspire others through your example?

I try to live in a Christ like manner that provides a positive example for everyone that I come across.  By doing so I pray that everyone comes to love Christ.

What is one of your favorite memories with the person who nominated you, or something about them that means a lot to you?

My parents are very important to me. We love all things Disney and I have countless memories of Disney trips with them over the years.  It is somewhere that we all enjoy very much and we all get to be kids together.

What is one lesson your parents have taught you that you'll carry with you throughout your life?

Just be you and do not let others influence you and be something you are not.

Tell us about the person who took your photo — how did you connect, and what was that experience like?

Maia Burchell has taken photos of me before. I am actually in the same class as her son!

Are you part of a model team with your photographer? If so, tell us about it.

I am a part of Mrs. Burchell’s junior modeling team.  We have just started this year and have had two photo shoots so far but have several more planned in the coming months.

How did you first hear about Inspiring Teens Magazine? Why does being part of Inspiring Teens Magazine matter to you?

Social media. I think any way we can put ourselves out there in a positive light should always be embraced and sought after.

What do you hope readers remember most after reading your story?

I want a career in fashion, I am funny, just be yourself, and remember Christ loves you!

How will earning a scholarship through Inspiring Teens Magazine help you?

It would help me achieve my goals and dreams in reaching my future career.

What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today?

I would love to be a runway model or work for Vogue somewhere like Paris, Milan, or New York.

What made you say “yes” to the Inspiring Teens challenge, and how did you feel when you first started?

The opportunity to compete for the scholarship was why I said yes and the process has made me feel curious and motivated at the same time.

What is one moment during the challenge so far that has made you feel proud or realize you were growing - in confidence, mindset, or taking action?

Being in the top three and getting votes from people that I didn’t even know gave me confidence.

If another teen is thinking about joining the Inspiring Teens Magazine Leadership Challenge but feels unsure, what would you tell them?

Go for it, you never know what could happen.

Beyond votes or placements, what are you hoping to gain from this experience—and what would make you feel truly successful at the end?

Exposure and the overall experience itself.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you get where you are today?

My mom and dad!
