Issue 102 of Inspiring Teens Magazine

Nomination: Briele Carver is an inspiring teen because she brings joy, creativity, and leadership to everything she does. As a dedicated member of the softball team, she shows commitment and teamwork both on and off the field. For the past four years, Briele has shined as Miss Cindy Lou Who at our magical Christmas celebration in Martinsville, Indiana, spreading cheer to everyone she meets. She has a natural gift for making the girls laugh during team sessions, lifting spirits with ease. Behind the scenes, Briele contributes as an influencer on my team, always willing to help and support others in meaningful ways.

What other inspiring qualities, achievements, or experiences about you, not mentioned in your nomination, would you like readers to know about?
Briele has played the Violin for the last 4 years with her school's Orchestra class. Briele has a huge heart and a very bubbly personality. Her softball coach just told her she was glad she picked her for her team as the team could be having the worst day and Briele is able to make them smile. She has a genuine heart and is always looking out for others

How has playing the violin shaped your confidence, creativity, or discipline outside of music?
I think for confidence playing on stage in front of a group of people, as I would have never done that prior to being in Orchestra.

What do you enjoy most about being part of your school’s orchestra, and what has it taught you about teamwork?
I enjoy being able to meet new people and make new friends, they have become a second family to me. We all have to work together and help each other out when one of us may be struggling.

What goals, dreams, or projects are you currently working toward right now?
Currently working on being a better version of myself and becoming a better softball player.

What does becoming a “better version of yourself” look like to you on a daily basis?
Focusing more on God and putting myself first

Who or what motivates you to keep growing, even on the days when it feels challenging?
My friends and my family keep me motivated. Even on the days I struggle I am reminded this to shall pass and we I can push forward.

What could you talk about for hours, and why does it matter so much to you?
Softball, because when I am on the field it brings me so much happiness.

What is your favorite memory from playing softball, and why does it stand out to you?
Filling in as a catcher. I had never caught before so I didn’t have much confidence, but I put myself out there and succeeded. I had the best time doing it and found that I was actually good at that position which helped build my confidence even more.

How do you handle pressure during a game, and what mindset helps you perform your best?
Always remember to give 110% and keep your head up and a positive attitude.

What is something you have learned about yourself as a leader or influencer in the past year?
You attitude affects everything in life and everyone around you.

Can you share a moment when your attitude positively impacted someone else?
When we have new girls join the team I always try to help them get comfortable and laugh because I know how nervous I was when I first started being an influencer.

What kind of leader do you hope to become in the future, and how are you working toward that now?
I am hoping I can be a positive, uplifting leader one day. I try to maintain a positive attitude in any situation that I encounter.

If you could give advice to younger girls who look up to you, what would you want them to know?
Not to worry what others think of you. Love yourself and know God created you to be your unique self.

What is one of your favorite memories with the person who nominated you, or something about them that means a lot to you?
Kim has brought me out of my bubble. She is so uplifting and sees something in me that I do not see in myself. She makes me feel beautiful even on my worst days.

Tell us about the person who took your photo?
Kim is my influencer photographer. My mom found Kim on social media. Being an influencer with Kim has been an amazing experience. The experience has made me grow so much as a person.

How did you first hear about Inspiring Teens Magazine? Why does being part of Inspiring Teens Magazine matter to you?
Kim introduced us to the magazine. I feel like being involved in something like this will show other teens that you can do anything if you put your mind to it. I think it is an excellent opportunity for any teenager to be published.

How will winning a scholarship through Inspiring Teens Magazine help you?
It will help pay for my future schooling.

What made you say “yes” to the Inspiring Teens challenge, and how did you feel when you first started?
Just having the opportunity to us my photos to help grow others confidence by allowing girls to see me published. I was nervous.

Now that you have your interview, which leaderboard level are you most looking forward to and why?
I would love to reach the top leaderboard and have the opportunity to win the scholarship.

If another teen is thinking about joining the Inspiring teens magazine leadership challenge but feels unsure, what would you tell them?
I would tell them to do it not only for the experience but for themselves. You never know where a journey could lead you and this may just open a huge door for your future.

Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you get where you are today?
I would like to Thank Kim for always going out of her way to make each one of our shoots special and for always believing in me. I would also like to Thank my parents and my family for always supporting me.
