Makenzi Sampey – Louisiana
Nomination by Angele Cunningham
Photography by Corey Naquin
Issue 101 of Inspiring Teens Magazine
Nomination: I nominate Makenzi Sampey for teen magazine. She is an all around deserving individual. She strives her best to succeed in anything she does. She is class president, captain of her varsity cheer squad, beta vice-president, and was a member of homecoming court. She has a 4.0 currently and plans to attend LCU and further her cheer career. She is the most outgoing bubbly person you will meet. She is a genuine one of the kind person who makes me proud daily. I couldn’t asks for a better person to be my daughter.
What inspiring qualities, achievements, or experiences about you were not mentioned in your nomination that you’d like readers to know about?
I would say many inspiring teens have all the amazing qualities, but I would say I’m strong in leader ship. I have always loved to be a leader. I have also attended girls state and I am a college cheer recruit!
What goals, dreams, or projects are you currently working toward right now?
I am working towards many goals and dreams but my main is my career. I have always wanted to be an anesthesiologist. It is my main priority and goal to achieve that.
What is something you feel passionate about or could talk about for hours, and why does it matter so much to you?
Something I am very passionate about is Cheer I have done cheer since I was seven years old and I have coached Cheer for a few years and I could talk to anyone and everyone about how life-changing Cheer is.
What is something you have learned about yourself as a leader or person in the past year?
In the past years of me being a leader, I have learned I am a patient leader. I’m not quick to get aggravated. I am a very good listener and know how to make accommodations for others.
What is one of your favorite memories with the person who nominated you, or something about them that means a lot to you?
I honestly couldn’t name a favorite memory with my mom. There’s too many to choose from but something about her, that means a lot to me is what she sees in me. She’s always been my biggest cheerleader and has always helped me achieve my best self.
Tell us about the photographer or person who took your photo — how did you connect, and what was that experience like?
I’ve known my photographer since the beginning of my senior year when he took my senior cheer photos and he was so much fun. He made it easy to be in front of the camera and always full of laughs.
How did you first hear about Inspiring Teens Magazine? Why does being part of Inspiring Teens Magazine matter to you?
I heard about inspiring tease magazines through Facebook and it matters a lot to me because being an inspiring teen is not something to take lightly and I am deeply appreciative of this opportunity. To me inspiring teens means a way to show leadership and put ur best foot forward.
If you win a scholarship through Inspiring Teens Magazine, how would you plan to use it and what goals would it help support?
If I won a scholarship through inspiring teens magazines, I would plan to use it with my college funds to help me succeed my goal of wanting to be an anesthesiologist because that goal does not come easily. It has a lot of bumps along the way that I can take on with every ounce of help I can get.
