Julianne Grace Castillo is a beautiful, kind-hearted, and driven young lady from Texas who shines both on and off the field. At just 17 years old, she has balanced academics, athletics, dance, and leadership throughout her high school years while always carrying herself with grace and humility. From track and field to Southern Stars, Julianne has inspired others through her dedication, perseverance, and sweet spirit.
During her senior year at Harlingen High School South, she was honored as Masquerade Princess and Prom Queen—accomplishments that reflected not only her beauty, but also the love and admiration the community has for her. She also earned her Dental Assistant certification after passing all three state exams. Julianne is excited for all that lies ahead in this next chapter and hopes to continue making a positive impact wherever life takes her.
What other inspiring qualities, achievements, or experiences about you, not mentioned in your nomination, would you like readers to know about?
One thing I’m proud of is being able to balance academics, athletics, dance, leadership, and personal growth throughout high school while staying true to myself. I’ve learned that perseverance, humility, and kindness can take you far in life.
Throughout high school, I was involved in band, wrestling, soccer, flag corps, track and field, Southern Stars, Student Council, Hawks for Christ, and I also served as the PTSA Secretary. These experiences helped shape me into the person I am today. One accomplishment I’m especially proud of is ranking in the Top 10 in the Valley for the 300m hurdles during the 2026 season. Through all of these experiences, I’ve made memories and friendships I will cherish, and I hope to inspire others to work hard, stay confident, and never give up on their dreams.
What goals, dreams, or projects are you currently working toward right now?
Right now, I am focused on continuing my education and pursuing a career in the dental field while exploring opportunities that allow me to grow personally and professionally. I hope to continue inspiring others through leadership, positivity, and perseverance, just as so many people have inspired me throughout my journey. My dream is to build a successful future doing something I love while making a positive impact on others wherever life takes me.
What could you talk about for hours, and why does it matter so much to you?
I could talk for hours about dance, track and field, and all of the memories and friendships I’ve made throughout high school. These experiences have taught me discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and confidence while helping me grow into the person I am today. I love how sports and activities bring people together, create lifelong memories, and push you to become the best version of yourself.
What is something you have learned about yourself as a leader or influencer in the past year?
Over the past year, I’ve learned that leadership is not always about being the loudest person in the room. It is about encouraging others, leading by example, and treating people with kindness and respect. I’ve realized that even small acts of positivity and support can make a major difference in someone’s life. Being involved in different activities and organizations has helped me become more confident in myself and has taught me the importance of uplifting others along the way.
What is one of your favorite memories with the person who nominated you, or something about them that means a lot to you?
One thing that means so much to me is having people in my life who have always believed in and supported me throughout my journey. My parents have always encouraged me to work hard, stay humble, and chase my dreams while reminding me to stay true to myself.
I’m also very thankful to my photographer, Mario Molina, for his beautiful photography, for capturing so many special memories throughout my senior year, and for introducing me to this opportunity. Some of my favorite memories are the little moments shared with the people who have supported me every step of the way, and those are memories I will always cherish.
Tell us about the person who took your photo — how did you connect, and what was that experience like?
I connected with my photographer, Mario Molina, through my family. He has captured special memories for my siblings and me throughout the years, including all four years of my high school journey. The experience has always been comfortable, fun, and memorable, and his beautiful photography has helped capture so many important milestones in my life. He always made every photoshoot feel natural and helped bring my vision and personality to life in each photo. I’m very thankful for the memories he has captured over the years and for the kindness, support, and encouragement he has shown throughout the experience.
How did you first hear about Inspiring Teens Magazine? Why does being part of Inspiring Teens Magazine matter to you?
I first heard about Inspiring Teens Magazine through my photographer, Mario Molina, after he tagged one of my senior photos on Instagram. After learning more about the magazine and everything it represents, I loved that it highlights teens not only for their accomplishments, but also for their character, leadership, and perseverance. Being part of Inspiring Teens Magazine means a lot to me because it gives me the opportunity to share my journey, inspire others, and represent the importance of hard work, kindness, and staying true to yourself.
How will earning a scholarship through Inspiring Teens Magazine help you?
Earning a scholarship through Inspiring Teens Magazine would help me continue pursuing my education and future career goals while easing some of the financial stress that can come with college and training programs. It would also motivate me to continue working hard, growing as a leader, and making a positive impact on others. Knowing that my story and experiences could inspire someone else makes this opportunity even more meaningful to me.
