What other inspiring qualities, achievements, or experiences about you, not mentioned in your nomination, would you like readers to know about?
I have had a lifelong struggle with ADHD. Although that can make school quite difficult at times, it has taught me how to work hard and to never give up. I have learned what true grit is over the years as nothing comes easy for me. My teachers have used words like determined, driven, and persistent to describe me. Grades have never come easy for me, but that's okay. Having to work hard has prepared me for life after high school. I will always remain diligent and keep my eye on the prize.
I received the "Most Improved" varsity player for the 2025-2026 season. I was also named All-District Honorable Mention and All-District for Academics in May 2026.
What did receiving the "Most Improved" varsity player award mean to you, and what growth in yourself are you most proud of?
The most improved award was such an honor to receive. My whole life is about showing up, working hard, and being coachable. To be chosen for an award that highlights consistent, noticeable improvements over the last year means everything to me. Hard work definitely pays off!
How has playing center-back shaped the way you approach leadership, pressure, and responsibility both on and off the soccer field?
Playing center back has taught me how to stay calm under intense pressure, how to lead with grace, and how to be someone my team can count on. These experiences, on and off the field, have taught me to be strong, accountable, and how to be a team player. Being a high school athlete comes with a lot of responsibility. As athletes, we commit to represent ourselves, and our school, to the highest level and utmost standard.
What goals, dreams, or projects are you currently working toward right now?
I am currently working on my college admissions applications, which seems to be a full time job right now :-) The fall semester is all about getting the best grades I can, training hard in pre-season, and college applications.
What qualities do you have that you believe will help you succeed in a career where patients may be depending on you during stressful or uncertain moments?
Just a fun fact about people with ADHD, we are highly effective in the most stressful of situations. We know how to lock in and do what is necessary in the moment. I am responsible, reliable, and resilient. I am a problem solver, especially in a chaotic or stressful moment. I even know how to lighten a mood with a word of encouragement or something light hearted to make someone smile or laugh when they need it the most.
What could you talk about for hours, and why does it matter so much to you?
I love FOOD! I am a legitimate foodie and can discuss it endlessly. I enjoy exploring cultural cuisine, experiencing new restaurants, and trying all of the flavors! If you want to discuss all things food, I am your person :-)
If you could travel anywhere in the world specifically to experience its food and culture, where would you go and what would you want to try first?
Greece (Mediterranean food is a-mazing), Hawaii (attend a Luau, of course), and Italy (well, all of it!)
What is something you have learned about yourself as a leader or influencer in the past year?
I have learned determination, persistence, and to never lose heart. If it's important to you, it's worth believing in and fighting for. This year, I have stepped into a mentorship role where I encourage younger soccer players by motivating them and offering supportive, guidance when they need it the most. I have learned about the bigger picture, healthy boundaries, and how to prioritize what matters most. Never let anyone steal your JOY!
What have the younger soccer players you mentor taught you about yourself and the kind of leader you want to be?
They have taught me to actively listen before I speak. They have also taught me to be patient, encouraging, and to always lead by example.
You said, "Never let anyone steal your JOY!" What has helped you protect your joy when things haven't gone the way you hoped?
That's a long story, but protecting your joy is essential. You can't control other people, but you can control your reaction, so keep your mind peaceful and walk away when you can. Not every little thing demands your attention or energy. Maturity is learning that you don't always have to have the last word or always be right. Protect your peace, forgive, and stay JOYFUL!
Of all the community service work you've been involved in, what experience has made the biggest impact on you and why?
Probably the biggest impact is working with disadvantaged youth. It is important to get out of your bubble and see the need that is in the community around you. Playing games with the kids, filling back packs with school supplies, loading up bags of groceries for the Food Bank, feeding families at Thanksgiving - all of that is impactful and reminds me to always be grateful for everything I have. We are blessed to be a blessing to others.
What is one of your favorite memories with the person who nominated you, or something about them that means a lot to you?
I have enjoyed getting to know Angie. Although we have only had a few photo shoots together, so far I enjoyed our Galveston photo shoot the most. Angie is laid back and genuinely kind to everyone she works with. She is patient, thoughtful, creative, and quite an artist when it comes to photography. She is the real deal and I am honored to work with her this year!
The person who took your photo — how did you connect, and what was that experience like?
I first met Angie in a coffee shop. My mom and I learned about her photography business and got to know her on a more personal level. I instantly liked Angie. She is genuine and friendly. She is a lovely person and super easy to work with - I am honored to be on her Senior Rep team this year!
What has Angie helped you see or appreciate about yourself through the photographs she has created of you?
She has helped me to overcome my insecurities and find the joy in photography. Most women struggle from time to time with the camera. Most of us do not feel photogenic, but Angie has a gift for photography and always comes through with the most beautiful shots!
How did you first hear about Inspiring Teens Magazine? Why does being part of Inspiring Teens Magazine matter to you?
I heard of Inspiring Teens Magazine through Angie. This magazine is a great platform to celebrate and empower young teens that are visionaries. They are always searching (and finding) ways to make the world a better place.
How will earning a scholarship through Inspiring Teens Magazine help you?
Earning a scholarship through Inspiring Teens Magazine would mean the world to me. It would eliminate some financial stress and help me to get started on my college journey. It also opens up numerous career and academic possibilities. The relief of the financial strain is a gift in itself, additionally being featured in the magazine is a wonderful way to expand my network and gain access to more opportunities. Plus all of this has been so much FUN! :-)
If another teen is thinking about joining the Inspiring Teens Magazine Leadership Challenge but feels unsure, what would you tell them?
I would say go for it! It's a fun experience and it is the perfect opportunity to talk to people and post on social media about the opportunity to support young people that are doing big things!
Beyond votes or placements, what are you hoping to gain from this experience—and what would make you feel truly successful at the end?
This experience has allowed me to be on a platform with so many other inspiring young people. Hopefully others can see that Gen Z's and Alphas have a lot to offer and will contribute in all the best ways to a hopeful, optimistic future!
Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you get where you are today?
I am thankful to Jesus for all my blessings. I am also thankful for a supportive family, amazing friends, inspiring coaches, and, of course, Angie for introducing me to Inspiring Teens Magazine!
If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
Probably eating and spending the day with friends. Life gets busy. You need to enjoy your friends and family when you can.
What is up next for you that you are super excited about?
My last high school soccer season and college!
What is your favorite activity or pastime that was not in your nomination?
Attending professional and college soccer games AND going to college football games. I love sports!
