However I would enjoy designing anything that young women would wear everyday and make them feel beautiful. What could talk about for hours, and why does it matter so much to you? Movies, music, fashion, and theater are important to me because all four allow you to express your inner self and for some that is hard to do. - Brynn Connelly: Leading with Kindness, Compassion & Confidence | Inspiring Teens Magazine
Brynn Connelly – Pennsylvania Nomination & Photography by Albright Studio Photography Nomination: A perfect way to describe Brynn Connelly is sunshine in human form. This girl always has a smile on her face and is ready to make sure you do too. Brynn is also what we would call a “go-getter.” She is the historian for her school’s National Honor Society, secretary of Key Club, and president of the Spanish Club. She is also a member of Student Government, Social Studies Honor Society, Math Honor Society, English Honor Society, Science Honor Society, and FBLA! As involved as she is, she still makes time for the track team and the varsity cheer team! Just 2 years ago, their team went to NCA Nationals and placed 6th in the nation! Her dedication and hard work shows in all she does and we believe she truly is an inspiring teen. What other inspiring qualities, achievements, or experiences about you, not mentioned in your nomination, would you like readers to know about? I’ve won 3 Distinguished Service Awards for Key Club, I won the Outstanding Academic Excellence Award from the President’s Education Awards Program, and I won the Role Model Award this past cheerleading season for being an advocate and a positive influence on the younger girls on my team. Which achievement are you most proud of, and what makes it especially meaningful to you? I’m definitely most proud of receiving Role Model Award during this past cheerleading season. It meant the world to me because it wasn’t based on a grade, title, or accomplishment, but on the way I treated the people around me. Knowing that the younger girls on my team saw me as someone they could trust and looked up to me reminded me that the impact we have on others can be more meaningful than any award. How have your leadership experiences helped shape the person you are today? My leadership experiences have shown me that leadership isn’t about having the loudest voice or being the person in charge. My experiences have helped me become more confident, responsible, and patient. Most importantly, they’ve shown me that I can make a difference just by simply being there for someone when they need it. What goals, dreams, or projects are you currently working toward right now? For cheerleading, I’d like to step up as a leader and continue to be a positive influence on my team to lead our squad to a successful cheer season since we had a rough season this past year. Also, my dream in the future is to become a social worker or a psychiatrist in order to advocate and help those who do not have a voice. I’d love to make any sort of positive impact on the world around me, even if it is a small one! What inspired you to pursue a future in social work or psychiatry? My interest in psychology and helping others has become a big part of who I am today. I’ve learned through past experiences that everyone is going through their own struggles, whether they’re visible or not, and I want to understand what everyone is going through and how to help people feel heard rather than being judged. The more I’ve learned about psychology and mental health, the more I’ve grown to realize that I want a career where I can directly make a difference in people’s lives. How do you hope to use your career to make a difference in the lives of others? I hope to use my career to give people a safe place to feel heard, understood, and supported, especially those who may not have someone advocating for them. Whether that is through social work, psychiatry, or another career path in psychology, I want to use my voice to help others understand their worth and know that they don’t have to face difficult situations alone. What could talk about for hours, and why does it matter so much to you? If there’s one thing I could talk about for hours, it’s how important it is to advocate for others and making people feel seen and valued. I believe even the smallest act of kindness can change someone’s day, or even their life. Whether it’s standing up for someone, offering encouragement, or simply listening, I want people to know they matter. This matters so much to me because everyone is fighting battles you can’t see. I believe kindness makes a ripple effect, and if I can make even one person’s life a little better, then I’ve made a difference. Can you share a moment when someone's kindness made a lasting impact on your life? One moment when someone’s kindness made a lasting impact on my life was when my cheerleading coach, Coach J, stepped in to lead our cheer team during one of the hardest times we have ever experienced. Our team had gone through a situation that left us hurt, disappointed, and unsure of what would happen next. Instead of letting us feel defeated, Coach J stepped up, believed in us, and cheered us on when we needed it most. Her kindness and bravery taught me that sometimes the most meaningful thing you can do for someone is show up, believe in them, and help them find their confidence again. I strive to be like her and I will carry her kindness with me as a leader. What advice would you give to someone who feels unseen or unheard? I would tell them that they shouldn’t let feeling unseen or unheard convince them that they don’t matter. There are always going to be people out there who want to know your story and everyone’s voice deserves to be heard. I’d tell them to keep being yourself, find people who will stand by you, and to always remember that your worth isn’t determined by the attention you receive from others!! What is something you have learned about yourself as a leader or influencer in the past year? Something I’ve learned about myself as a leader in the past year is that I don’t lead in the traditional way. Through cheerleading, I thought leadership meant being the loudest or most confident. When those qualities never came naturally, I questioned whether I deserved to be a senior captain. Then, I realized the younger girls came to me for advice, support, and friendship because they trusted me. That showed me that leadership isn’t about giving orders but that it’s about making others feel seen, valued, and equal, and overall being someone they know they can count on. What advice would you give to someone who is stepping into a leadership role for the first time? I’d tell them that they don’t have to completely change who they are to become a leader. Find your own leadership style, lead by example, and always lead with your heart! The best leaders aren’t always the ones in control, they’re the ones who step up and care for others. How do you balance academics, extracurricular activities, and still make time for yourself? It’s honestly hard for me, but I love being busy and I love being involved! Organization is a huge part of it, I use an agenda for everything to stay ahead of my schoolwork and club commitments. I think it’s also important to mention that I LOVE being super involved, which helps me balance it a lot more! My only advice is to submerge yourself in what you love and do it to the best of your ability because you can do anything you truly set your mind to! What is one of your favorite memories with the person who nominated you, or something about them that means a lot to you? Maddy was the person who nominated me, and she is so sweet and funny. In fact, she reminds me of the beach in many ways, which is my favorite place! She has the kind of warmth that feels like sunshine, the kindness of gentle waves, and such a bright personality. She is just so joyful and leaves everyone around her happier than she left them, just like the beach! What is one lesson you've learned from Maddy that you'll always carry with you? In the short time I’ve gotten to know Maddy, she’s taught me the importance of being friendly and making people feel comfortable! She has such a genuine way of making everyone around her feel welcomed, and I hope I can treat others the same! Tell us about the person who took your photo — how did you connect, and what was that experience like? Nick and Maddy, two of the faces behind Albright Studio Photography, have been taking my school and sport pictures since 8th grade, but I got to know them much better after becoming their senior influencer this year. They’ve been so kind, supportive, and willing to bring all of my ideas to life! They’ve even drove 5 hours to the beach to take my dream senior photos! They are so talented and make every session feel so natural and comfortable. I’m so grateful for them and I’d recommend them to anyone! How did you first hear about Inspiring Teens Magazine? Why does being part of Inspiring Teens Magazine matter to you? I actually heard about ITM last year when I saw two of Albright’s photographed seniors published in it on Instagram. Being a part of ITM matters to me because upon further research, the magazine offers many more amazing opportunities than just a magazine appearance. ITM offers chances for leadership growth, scholarship opportunities, and a shot to be recognized for character. I’m so thankful that I am being nominated for such an amazing magazine that encourages others to do good! What do you hope readers remember most after learning about your story? I really hope readers remember that you don’t have to have everything figured out and perfect in order to make a difference. You don’t have to do huge, amazing things to make an impact, most of the time the little things make the biggest difference! How will earning a scholarship through Inspiring Teens Magazine help you? Earning a scholarship through ITM would help ease the financial burden of college while allowing me to focus on furthering my education and helping others. More than the financial support, it would remind me that the work I’ve done to help others has truly made an impact. A scholarship would push me to continue helping people, and hopefully push other people to as well! What made you say “yes” to the Inspiring Teens challenge, and how did you feel when you first started? I love new experiences and it sounded like a great way to grow my leadership skills as well as possibly earn some scholarship money! I felt so excited when I first started and I love the fact that I get to share what I care about with others! What is one moment during the challenge so far that has made you feel proud or realize you were growing - in confidence, mindset, or taking action? Seeing how many people were willing to support me and share my posts made me realize how much my relationships with others matter. Reaching my first major voting goal was exciting, but what made me most proud was seeing people who I hadn’t been as close with in a while reaching out to support me. It reminded me that the connections I make genuinely matter and people remember them! If another teen is thinking about joining the Inspiring Teens Magazine Leadership Challenge but feels unsure, what would you tell them? I would tell them to DO IT! Even if you’re nervous, you’ll never know what you’re capable of until you try! The experience I’ve had so far has pushed me to put myself out there, connect with people, and become more confident and vocal in sharing what I care about. Beyond votes or placements, what are you hoping to gain from this experience—and what would make you feel truly successful at the end? I hope to become more confident in myself as a leader and to continue growing. Regardless of where I place, I’ll feel successful if I encouraged someone else to believe in themselves, get involved, or make a difference in their own lives. Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you get where you are today? I’d love to thank my family, friends, teachers, coaches, peers, and teammates who have supported me all these years. Every person has made an impact on my life and has shaped me into the person I am today. I truly wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for the support from everyone. Is there anything else you’d like to tell us? I’m so incredibly thankful for the opportunity to be a part of Inspiring Teens Magazine. I hope my interview reminds other teens that their voices matter and you never have to wait to make a difference! You can start exactly where you are with the people around you. Look for Brynn in issue 104 of Inspiring Teens Magazine!* Each interview is shared in the teen’s own words, so their authentic voice shines through.
- Riya Gupta: Empowering Teens Through ForFinanceHub & Sustainable Suburbs | Inspiring Teens Magazine
Riya Gupta – Illinois Nomination & Photography by Papiha Gupta Nomination: As the founder of ForFinanceHub, Riya Gupta is bridging the resource gap for high school students worldwide. The platform offers free access to scholarships, extracurricular opportunities, and comprehensive financial guides, already reaching 30,000+ users across more than 90 countries. Building the initiative from the ground up allowed Riya to develop a robust skill set in digital marketing—growing a social media community of 14,000 followers—while balancing the intensive time commitments of scaling a global project. What other inspiring qualities, achievements, or experiences about you, not mentioned in your nomination, would you like readers to know about? I founded Sustainable Suburbs, a youth-led international initiative dedicated to environmental action. What began as a local project has scaled into a global network of over 15 chapters across 5 countries. The organization operates on a dual model: holding local recycling drives (where community members centralize recyclables at chapter hubs for proper sorting)and hosting engaging youth events designed to inspire the next generation of environmental changemakers. We have held over 10 youth events and collected 900lbs of recycling internationally. What goals, dreams, or projects are you currently working toward right now? I am currently working on developing a new grant and scholarship initiative for ForFinanceHub. My vision is to empower other teenagers not just with financial knowledge, but with the funds and the skills needed to build their own impactful projects. To bring this program to life, I am actively researching innovative fundraising opportunities, partnership outreach, and grant-making models to secure the funding necessary to support the next generation of youth leaders What could talk about for hours, and why does it matter so much to you? There are so many things I could go on and on about the impact that simple and daily choices have on reducing waste and saving our environment. Sometimes people tend to underestimate the simple actions that we do in our daily lives, whether that be putting something in the bin instead of recycling or using high-energy digital systems like artificial intelligence to perform small tasks. This particular topic means a lot to me because it is the perfect example of a tragedy of the commons, where people think that their small actions do not make any difference. What is something you have learned about yourself as a leader or influencer in the past year? The most important thing that I have learned over the years is the fact that there are some things that I cannot do by myself. Knowing that I need to collaborate in order to make an impact, I created a team for ForFinanceHub. Apart from making our process more efficient, delegation helped me to free up time to develop new projects. Through teamwork, I have realized that good leadership does not mean doing all the work on your own. What is one of your favorite memories with the person who nominated you, or something about them that means a lot to you? My mother is the most important support system that I have ever had in my life. It is because of her that I hold on to the notion that I can do anything that I put my heart into doing. However, what really touches my heart about her is her silent sacrifice. Despite being very occupied with her own things, whenever I need assistance, she leaves everything behind and comes to support me. The greatest thing in life for me is having someone behind my back believing in me with all their heart. Tell us about the person who took your photo — how did you connect, and what was that experience like? The person behind the camera was my mom. Our connection is as natural as it gets, which made the entire experience incredibly comfortable and fun. We have a very close bond, so instead of a rigid photoshoot, it felt like a fun and relaxed afternoon together. Having her behind the lens allowed me to truly be myself, and the photo captures the genuine comfort and happiness I always feel when I am around her. How did you first hear about Inspiring Teens Magazine? Why does being part of Inspiring Teens Magazine matter to you? I first discovered Inspiring Teens Magazine on Instagram. I believe it is incredibly important for young people to have a strong support system as they pursue their passions, while also being celebrated for their dedication. The way this magazine provides a dedicated platform to recognize youth achievements is truly awe-inspiring. Being part of this community matters to me because it elevates student voices, validates our hard work, and shows other teenagers that their ideas are powerful enough to make a real impact. How will earning a scholarship through Inspiring Teens Magazine help you? This scholarship will be pivotal in helping me grow ForFinanceHub and help other change makers who are young. Currently, my goal is to develop a program whereby grants will be issued to projects developed by students, and this scholarship will be a crucial catalyst in developing this project. Instead of the scholarship being used to support my educational endeavors, it will have an even greater impact when it becomes a means for us to give teens the micro-grants needed to start their ventures. Look for Riya in issue 104 of Inspiring Teens Magazine! * Each interview is shared in the teen’s own words, so their authentic voice shines through.

Through my high school experience, I have had the opportunity to observe many different including special education and preschool. This has taught me patience, empathy, and leadership. I always love helping students out especially the ones who might need a little extra help. What goals, dreams, or projects are you currently working toward right now? I am currently working on working hard through the rest of my senior year to set myself up for success in college and career! What could talk about for hours, and why does it matter so much to you? I could talk about the importance of being able to self regulate your emotions. It is a fundamental part of communication, emotional intelligence, and situational awareness. It is tricky to get the hang of self regulation. However, in my experience, being able to understand yourself definitely helps stressful events go more smoothly. What is something you have learned about yourself as a leader or influencer in the past year? As a leader I have learned that no matter what, it is important to stand up for what you believe is morally correct. It is so easy to go with the popular choice and what everyone else is doing. Especially as a young woman, there are often words like “bossy” and “stubborn” thrown around when different opinions are voiced. Despite this, I think it is important to stand your ground, dig your heels, and take up space. Tell us about the person who took your photo — how did you connect, and what was that experience like? Caitlyn Burson has been my tennis coach, teacher, and photographer. I have great memories with her in class, on the tennis court, and behind the camera as a member of her senior representative team! She is truly so creative and I love how she works so hard to deliver the best photos ever! When I was accepted to her senior representative team I was super excited because I’ve followed her work and watched it grow. She always is very creative, very intentional, and very helpful. How will earning a scholarship through Inspiring Teens Magazine help you? I plan to go to school for my bachelors and masters straight out of high school. Eventually I may even pursue my doctorate. The scholarship money would help me facilitate my higher education and help people professionally. Look for Maggie in issue 104 of Inspiring Teens Magazine! * Each interview is shared in the teen’s own words, so their authentic voice shines through.
- Jazmine Lara: From Micro Preemie to Future Audiologist & Artist | Inspiring Teens Magazine
Jazmine Lara Nomination by Amanda Lara Photography by Emma Earnheart Nomination: Jazmine Lara was a micro premie at birth. At one pound, 24 week gestation life started rough and things didn’t look good. Today she is an aspiring artist having placed at state and national Beta for five years, she has taught herself American Sign Language and is overall academically strong and fierce. She has big dreams and is bound to succeed! What other inspiring qualities, achievements, or experiences about you, not mentioned in your nomination, would you like readers to know about? Im currently ranked second in my graduating class! I’m not our official salutatorian yet- as I haven’t graduated, but I’m trying my best to work toward it! What goals, dreams, or projects are you currently working toward right now? Im working toward being fluent in Spanish and I dream to eventually become an audiologist to help those who have trouble hearing or communicating with their peers. What could talk about for hours, and why does it matter so much to you? I could talk about Sign Language all day, because most people overlook the fact that ASL is only one tidbit under the entire Sign Language umbrella. There are so many different spoken languages and there are corresponding signs all around the world because of the various languages, so I could talk and talk about that all day! There are different variations of grammar, we can see this when it comes to the difference between ASL, SEE, and various others! Everybody just assumes that Sign Language is only ASL, but that’s not the case at all. It is super fascinating and I find it interesting that so many people just assume that there aren’t deeper levels to it. What is something you have learned about yourself as a leader or influencer in the past year? This past year I’ve learned that I have much more patience than what I once thought, I’ve become more aware and confident when signing and trying to become a better version of myself. I’ve been caught in situations that I don’t know how to handle, but when I get there I’ve been able to keep calm and try to give everything the benefit of the doubt and solve things out the right way. What is one of your favorite memories with the person who nominated you, or something about them that means a lot to you? Something about my mom that means a lot to me is her kindness. She has taught me to always be kind and open minded because we truly never know what anybody is going through- why they might have done the things they did, or why they said what they said. She’s helped me to become more understanding and overall more positive as I’ve grown into who I am today. Tell us about the person who took your photo — how did you connect, and what was that experience like? She’s my photographer, Emma and my mom have known each other for years, and she takes my pictures all the time! She’s an amazing person and a very talented photographer. She’s super sweet and such a fun soul to be around. How did you first hear about Inspiring Teens Magazine? Why does being part of Inspiring Teens Magazine matter to you? I was nominated! I have never heard of the “Inspiring Teens Magazine” before, but I am excited to be a part of it because I can show other people, no matter their age, that they can be bigger than what people tell them they are. As somebody who was born at one pound, I’ve never been strong enough, big enough, tall enough- I’ve only recently grown into my body and confidence, so I want to inspire others that no matter what they are born into or what they have to overcome that they are their own person at the end of the day. Your story might begin with where you started, but you determine how your story ends. Nobody else gets to decide that for you- even if they are doctors. How will earning a scholarship through Inspiring Teens Magazine help you? Earning a scholarship through Inspiring Teens Magazine would help me to share my story and help people overcome disabilities that they might have been born with or have started to experience with old age. Not only would the scholarship help me, but I would use it to benefit those around me. As I go to college- which is what I will use the scholarship for, I will pursue audiology and eventually be able to help those who have lost hearing, possibly be an interpreter for those who can’t communicate or afford hearing aids, help infants or elders hear for their very first time, and inspire people to keep pushing even though some things aren’t fair in life. Not everybody is born with abilities that the average human has, so I have every intention of using my scholarship to help people know that they are so much bigger than what they were born from, in, or with. I don’t intend to use the scholarship solely for myself, but for the benefit of others as well. It would make me very happy to be able to help and inspire those who need it!! Look for Jasmine in issue 104 of Inspiring Teens Magazine! * Each interview is shared in the teen’s own words, so their authentic voice shines through.

As Community Service President, a professional lifeguard, and ski instructor, her kindness lights up every space. Through her clinic internship and work coaching children with disabilities at Courage Kenny and Padraig’s Place, her gentle patience and sweet, encouraging spirit empower everyone around her. She leads not just with talent, but with immense grace and joy. What other inspiring qualities, achievements, or experiences about you, not mentioned in your nomination, would you like readers to know about? The role of faith throughout my life has inspired me and led me all my life. My faith has guided me through the harder moments like injuries. But it has also reminded me to stay humble when celebrating exciting moments as well. What inspired you to pursue a career in physical therapy? Dealing with my own sports injuries introduced me to physical therapists who truly cared. They didn't just help me heal, they guided me through a journey of frustration and setbacks with kindness and compassion, allowing me to heal safely and continue doing the sport I love. How have the people you volunteer with helped shape your perspective on life? Being part of these incredible programs is so fulfilling, with many of the children I coach acting as inspirations for me in times of hardship. Supporting young athletes with disabilities has taught me to view life’s obstacles with more clarity, recognizing the miniscule scale of my problems when seen through the lens of someone experiencing greater adversity. What goals, dreams, or projects are you currently working toward right now? Embarking on my journey towards becoming a physical therapist brings me endless joy, and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to learn alongside the skilled, wonderful mentors I shadow and the inspiring people I volunteer with every day. What are you most excited to learn as you continue preparing for your future career? I am so excited to continue my knowledge of anatomy and exercise science and apply those principles in real world settings. Above all, I look forward to using this deeper understanding to create individualised care that helps others to recover from injuries and reach their full potential. Is there a moment during your volunteer work that confirmed you were on the right path? Each moment during volunteering where I get to experience children making both big and small milestones reminds me how rewarding the experience is and how happy I am to be a part of it. One moment in particular was when one of the children I coached had found out and told me he had qualified for a national track meet. Being a part of his training and support team brought me so much happiness and confirmed that I am on the right path. What could talk about for hours, and why does it matter so much to you? I could talk for hours about how much meaningful community service has positively impacted my life. Coaching wonderful kids with disabilities in track and skiing brings me so much joy and inspires everything I do. What have the children you coach taught you about courage and perseverance? The strong mentality of the kids I coach has helped me recognize that I am capable of hard things and their neverending positivity motivates me to continue persisting through hard training to see deserved results. How do you hope your future career will allow you to continue serving others? I hope that my future career as a physical therapist will help me care for others on a deeper, more impactful level and give me opportunities to provide others with the same wonderful care I was given during my own recovery. What is something you have learned about yourself as a leader or influencer in the past year? Leading track and cross country as a varsity captain has shown me that building strong connections is what empowers a great team. Beyond all the training, watching the team truly support and uplift one another has been the most rewarding part of the journey. What advice would you give to someone who is stepping into a leadership role for the first time? I would advise people who are stepping into their first leadership role to find mentors in whatever field they aspire to participate in, and ultimately choose a role that they love and feel passionate about. How do you balance athletics, academics, volunteering, and still make time for yourself? As a teen, it can be so stressful to balance athletics, academics, volunteering, and still have time to spend with the people you love. Tell us about the person who took your photo — how did you connect, and what was that experience like? I had the kindest senior photographer, Hannah Lu. She made the entire experience smooth and completely stress free. We bonded right away over our shared love for animals, music, and outdoor adventures. - Ezinne Yvonne Alu Ogechukwu: Inspiring the Future Through AI, Creativity & Global Leadership
Artwork Credit " Yvonne Ezinne Alu Ogechukwu" Graphite/Pencil drawing Ezinne Yvonne Alu Ogechukwu – Illinois Nomination by Mercy Alu Photography by Kip_focus Winx Club inspired Flora” drawn by IPastelezi Aesthetics (Ezinne) Issue 104 of Inspiring Teens Magazine Nomination: Ezinne Yvonne Alu Ogechukwu is an emerging innovative AI UX engineer, a front-end developer in training and a student-athlete. Traveling extensively across Qatar, the UK, the US, Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Ethiopia from a young age, her intercontinental experience directly shapes her global perspective. As a multi-talented creative artist recruited in Fashion Republic Magazine alongside her model siblings, she brings a dynamic artistic presence to her work as the founder of IPastelezi Productions and a media creator for AluPublishing. Ezinne leverages her technical certifications and 176 WPM typing speed to merge code, design, and performance into a universal language that empowers communities worldwide. What first sparked your interest in combining technology with art and storytelling? My passion began at seven years old, self-teaching drawing out of a pure love for art. By eight, I launched IPastelezi on YouTube to craft visual stories around global rhythms, later winning my township's 5th-grade art competition and exploring 3D animations. I realized digital media and code aren't separate, but tools to express emotion. While self-teaching built my foundation, I am still actively growing and refining my technical and artistic craft. How has living in different countries shaped the way you connect with people through your work? Traveling with my family, thanks to my mother, Dr. Mercy Alu, across Nigeria, Qatar, Armestadan, the US, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Ghana taught me to connect globally and embrace new ideas. This international perspective directly inspires my content. For instance, my TikTok short edit honoring the late Lucky Dube reached over 200,000 views, bringing diverse people together to celebrate his legacy. Experiencing different cultures firsthand taught me that art, music, and digital media are universal languages. I design every web interface and video module to transcend borders, build empathy, and unite global communities. What other inspiring qualities, achievements, or experiences about you, not mentioned in your nomination, would you like readers to know about? Beyond academics, I am deeply dedicated to visual storytelling, modeling, and performance arts. Featured in Fashion Republic Magazine alongside my siblings and inspired by Naomi Campbell’s runway discipline, I bring that same fierce work ethic to my creative pursuits. While winning poetry and art contests shaped my design foundation at IPastelezi Productions, I am still actively growing as a model and creative director. Financial support through this program will directly fund my professional portfolio expansion and resources, empowering me to fully elevate my career and inspire global audiences. What is one of your favorite memories with the person who nominated you, or something about them that means a lot to you? My nominator is my mother, Dr. Mercy Alu. What means most is how our creative journeys mirror each other. Starting her music career as a child, she grew up inspired by Yvonne Chaka Chaka, eventually winning the InterContinental Music Awards. Watching her build an international music career while earning a PhD and managing our home inspired me immensely. She showed me that creative passion is a lifelong calling. Her journey gave me the confidence to launch IPastelezi Productions and model, teaching me to view the world as a global village. What accomplishment are you most proud of so far, and why does it stand out to you? I am most proud of being awarded the WeTech scholarship to pursue and complete the Google IT Support Specialist Certificate program. Earning this sponsorship stands out deeply because working alongside an industry pioneer like Google validated my technical dedication and potential as a young woman in tech. Mastering core IT infrastructure and computational systems expanded my technical foundation beyond front-end design. It proved that I can excel in rigorous technical spaces, giving me the momentum and confidence to engineer complex digital systems and scale my platform, IPastelezi Productions, to serve a global community. What goals, dreams, or projects are you currently working toward right now? My primary focus is split between expanding my platforms, IPastelezi Productions and Aesthetics, as well as building my emerging modeling portfolio. With IPastelezi, I am constructing a digital ecosystem merging computer science with music, poetry, and cultural storytelling. Simultaneously, following my feature in Fashion Republic Magazine, I am working with creative mentors to continue growing my brand. Ultimately, my dream is to operate as a boundary-pushing creative director who bridges high-end aesthetics, advanced artificial intelligence engineering, and digital media to create human-centered connections globally. What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today? My ideal dream job would be serving as a Chief Creative Officer, Content Creator, and AI UX Engineer for a global media and technology house. In this role, I would direct fashion editorial campaigns, oversee interactive AI web platforms, and design accessible, human-centered digital interfaces. By then, I want IPastelezi Productions fully established as a powerhouse, mirroring the empowering influence of creators I look up to, like Tam Kaur. This role would synthesize my modeling direction, front-end software skills, and computer science background into one unified vision to inspire young women and elevate youth globally. If you could collaborate with any artist, designer, or technology leader, who would it be and why? I would love to collaborate with Dr. Michael Crawley. Meeting him at a local community college conference while I was still in high school deeply inspired my approach to leadership and interdisciplinary innovation. His insights on mentorship, education, and community engagement strongly resonate with my mission at IPastelezi Productions. A collaboration between us would bridge his academic leadership and guidance with my technical, creative, and front-end engineering frameworks. Together, we could design empowering digital initiatives and interactive educational tools that inspire young people to step boldly into leadership, cultivate their unique talents, and transform their communities. How do you stay inspired when balancing so many different creative and technical pursuits? I stay inspired through a commitment to continuous learning and a relentless drive to be better than I was yesterday. Rather than competing with others, my primary goal is pushing my own boundaries, whether that means learning a new coding framework or refining a video edit. Every skill I acquire feeds into another; computational logic deepens my artistic structure, while my creative storytelling breathes life into my code. Viewing every day as an opportunity to elevate my mind keeps my energy high, ensuring my passion across technology and the arts never runs dry. What is something you have learned about yourself as a leader or influencer in the past year? This past year, I learned that true leadership comes from matching raw belief with relentless resilience. While launching IPastelezi Productions, I briefly doubted whether a young creative coder could build a global space. I discovered that leadership isn't the absence of fear, but the courage to proceed anyway. Relying on athletic mental toughness and family discipline, I pushed past self-doubt to build a platform merging aesthetics with front-end code. An influencer’s greatest asset isn't perfection, but authentic determination that inspires others to trust their hands and own their stories. What impact do you hope IPastelezi Productions will have on future generations of creators? I hope IPastelezi Productions can inspire future creators to step up as bold leaders, embrace what makes them unique, and never fear being different. My vision is for the brand to show young innovators that they don't have to fit into a single box, they can freely bridge technology, fashion, and the arts. By weaving diverse stories, music, and interactive digital design together, I want IPastelezi to bring our global cultures closer. Ultimately, I hope to empower the next generation to use their authentic voices to build a more connected world filled with new hope, unity, and joy. What advice would you give to another young person who dreams of pursuing both technology and the arts? My biggest advice is to treat your multi-passionate nature as your greatest superpower, not a split focus. Never let anyone force you into a single box or tell you that code and artistic expression can’t co-exist. Use your technical skills as the scaffolding to bring your creative vision to life. Protect your curiosity, embrace the discipline of both fields, and remember, innovation doesn’t happen by following the crowd, it happens when you have the courage to merge different worlds, step boldly past self-doubt, and create something entirely your own. What legacy do you hope to leave through your work as a creator, innovator, and leader? Through my work, I want to leave a legacy that reminds people, no matter how difficult life gets, you already possess everything within you to succeed. I want IPastelezi Productions and my journey across tech, modeling, and performance to serve as living proof that your identity is unlimited. I hope to inspire future generations, especially young women and global creators, never to let anyone shut down the gifts, passions, or unique lights inside them. Your voice matters, your ideas are valid, and you hold the power to build your own future. How did you first hear about Inspiring Teens Magazine? Why does being part of Inspiring Teens Magazine matter to you? I discovered Inspiring Teens Magazine through an online search for progressive platforms celebrating youth who blur the lines between fields. Being part of it matters profoundly because it amplifies youth voices and validates my dual path as an upcoming model, emerging software engineer, and a growing media producer. It allows me to show young dreamers that they never have to choose between technical execution and artistic expression. How will earning a scholarship through Inspiring Teens Magazine help you? Earning this scholarship acts as a catalytic investment in my path as a software innovator and creative director. Academically, it directly supports my university tuition for a B.S. in Computer Science, helping me learn high-performance front-end developments and AI. Entrepreneurially, it provides leverage to scale IPastelezi Productions and expand my modeling portfolio. It bridges the gap between creative concepts and real-world deployment, enabling me to continue the journey of transforming code into accessible digital spaces worldwide. Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you get where you are today? I owe my deepest gratitude to my mother, Dr. Mercy Alu, who generously sponsored and promoted me throughout this entire program. Beyond this milestone, she has been my greatest pillar of support throughout my childhood, constantly nurturing my dreams and guiding my steps. I inherited my creative spark, relentless ambition, and drive to push boundaries directly from her example. Watching her navigate her own path with grace, wisdom, and excellence taught me to own my voice. I am forever grateful for her endless sacrifices, belief in my vision, and unconditional love that made all of this possible. Is there anything else you’d like to tell us? I want to thank Inspiring Teens Magazine for creating a platform where young innovators are encouraged to shine across all dimensions. I am excited to continue growing in technology, design, and performance to break barriers, uplift global communities, and prove that the future belongs to those who dare to integrate their full creative purpose. Tanmay Donti – Georgia Nomination by Nagaraj Donti Photography by Ankita Jaikumar Issue 104 of Inspiring Teens Magazine Nomination: Tanmay is a passionate student driven by a mission to create meaningful change. Through founding the nonprofit FutureLead, he has helped students develop business and leadership skills through engaging, hands-on experiences while reaching 150K+ Instagram impressions. He has advocated for expanded entrepreneurship education in Georgia by meeting with state representatives and visiting the Georgia State Capitol. Beyond entrepreneurship, Tanmay serves as a Team Lead for Meals By Grace, supporting efforts to address food insecurity while coordinating with 200+ volunteers weekly. Through his work, he continues to empower others and spark positive change. What other inspiring qualities, achievements, or experiences about you, not mentioned in your nomination, would you like readers to know about? I am a passionate student leader dedicated to empowering others through entrepreneurship, leadership, and public speaking. I was featured in the June 2026 edition of Innovation Insider Magazine and have grown FutureLead, my nonprofit focused on business and leadership education, to 10+ branches across the United States and India. I lead my school’s Model U.N. and UNICEF clubs and serve as Student Outreach Coordinator for a school board campaign to involve students in policymaking. Through public speaking, I hope to inspire others to believe in themselves and find their voice. Looking back, what moment made you realize you wanted to dedicate your time to helping other students succeed? I wouldn’t call it a moment; I would call it a period of time. I have always wished that schools would teach more business and leadership skills and, overall, make the learning process more fun. Over time, that feeling stayed until I decided to address it myself and create FutureLead. What has been the most rewarding moment you've experienced since founding FutureLead? The most rewarding moment I have experienced since founding FutureLead is seeing workshops pay off. I remember during our 3rd workshop, for business management, during our activity, I looked around, and every single kid was engaged, smiling, talking, and having fun, all while they were actually learning. That moment was surreal as it truly showed that I was able to help students learn the way I always wished I could. How has working with students from different communities and countries changed your perspective on leadership?Working with students from different places has helped me as a leader be more aware of the similarities that the youth have. Almost every student who has joined FutureLead wants to do big things in life, regardless of where their background may originate from. So as a leader, it has taught me not to view anyone as less, but to view everyone as aspiring. Aspiring to make a change, make an impact, and overall make a difference in the world. What goals, dreams, or projects are you currently working toward right now? I dream of creating lasting change through policy by helping pass legislation that gives future students the resources they need to pursue careers in entrepreneurship, leadership, and innovation. I am also working to expand FutureLead’s impact by making business and leadership education accessible to students worldwide. Ultimately, my goal is to help create a future where every student has the opportunity, confidence, and resources to chase their dreams and turn their ideas into reality. What is one milestone you hope FutureLead reaches in the next five years? I hope FutureLead can reach students in every country while helping create lasting, systemic change in education. My goal is for every student to have access to business and leadership education, whether through FutureLead or as part of their school curriculum. I believe the best way to achieve this is by working with educators and policymakers to expand access to these essential skills, ensuring every student has the opportunity to develop the confidence and knowledge to pursue their dreams. If you could solve one challenge facing today's students, what would it be and why? If I could solve one challenge facing today's students, it would be unequal access to opportunities and resources. So many students have incredible ideas and dreams but lack the tools, support, or experiences needed to pursue them. I believe every student should have the chance to succeed based on their determination and potential, not the circumstances they can't control. Creating more equitable access would empower countless young people to reach their goals and make a meaningful impact on the world. What could we talk about for hours, and why does it matter so much to you? I could talk for hours about the importance of youth leadership. Too often, young people are told to wait until they're older to make a difference, but I've learned that age doesn't determine your ability to create change. Through founding FutureLead, leading my school's Model U.N. and UNICEF clubs, and advocating for entrepreneurship education, I've seen firsthand the impact students can have when they're allowed to lead. I'm passionate about helping other young people realize that their ideas, voices, and actions can shape the future, and I'll always advocate for giving students the opportunities and support they need to lead with confidence. What advice would you give to a student who has a great idea but is afraid to take the first step? Don't wait until you feel ready, because you probably never will. The first step is always the hardest, but every successful idea started with someone willing to take a chance, learn along the way, and believe in themselves. Who has influenced your leadership style the most, and what lessons have you learned from them? During one FutureLead workshop, we brought on a young guest speaker to mentor and speak to the students. While I was the one running the event, I ended up learning just as much. She had built a huge network of people involved in policy, business, and legislation before she had even graduated, and the biggest lesson she shared was how she used her youth as an advantage. I had always felt that being young only held me back. However, her talk made me realize that my age was actually a superpower. What is something you have learned about yourself as a leader or influencer in the past year? Over the past year, I have learned that leadership is not about having a title or being the person in charge; rather, it is about empowering others to reach their potential. Through growing FutureLead, leading student organizations, and advocating for change, I have learned the importance of communication, teamwork, and perseverance. I realized that the greatest impact comes from creating opportunities for others and building a community where everyone feels valued. Leadership is not about standing above others, but standing alongside them and helping them achieve things they may not have thought were possible. What challenge has tested your leadership the most, and how did you grow because of it? As FutureLead continued to grow, we faced a challenge where fewer students attended each event. This was a huge problem because part of what made our workshops so fun was having many different students participate. As attendance dropped, the events became less engaging, which led to even fewer students coming to the next workshop, creating a cycle. This challenge, however, helped me grow because it taught me the importance of truly listening to others' input. By taking feedback seriously, we were able to break the cycle and create even better events. When you think about the legacy you want to leave, what do you hope people remember most about you? I want to leave a legacy of impact. I want people to remember me as someone who made a true difference in the world around them. This can range from creating change to help everyone have a better experience on this earth, to getting legislation passed that makes the lives of others much easier. What does success mean to you beyond awards, recognition, or accomplishments? To me, success is creating opportunities that continue to impact others long after I'm gone. Awards and recognition are meaningful, but knowing I helped someone discover their potential, pursue their dreams, or make a difference in their own community is what I consider true success. What is one of your favorite memories with the person who nominated you, or something about them that means a lot to you? One of my favorite ongoing memories with my dad is that we share the same birthday, February 5. Celebrating each new year of life together has created countless special memories and made every birthday feel even more meaningful. It's a tradition that reminds me how fortunate I am to share such a unique bond with him, and it's something I'll always cherish. Tell us about the person who took your photo — how did you connect, and what was that experience like? Ankita is a student leader who, like me, dreamed of creating change and becoming an advocate for her community. I connected with her when I had the opportunity to visit the Georgia State Capitol through her organization, Students4Civics. From the moment I met her, I was inspired by her dedication, work ethic, and ability to maintain such a positive personality while pursuing meaningful change. Meeting Ankita showed me the impact young people can have when they use their voices to engage with leaders and advocate for a better future. How did you first hear about Inspiring Teens Magazine? Why does being part of Inspiring Teens Magazine matter to you? I heard about Inspiring Teens Magazine through social media. Being part of Inspiring Teens Magazine matters to me because it represents the power of young people to create meaningful change. I hope my story can encourage other students to believe in themselves, take initiative, and pursue their own ideas, regardless of their age. This opportunity allows me to share my journey with a larger audience and highlight the importance of leadership, service, and using your voice to make an impact. More than recognition, it is a chance to inspire others to realize they have the ability to create change in their own communities. How will earning a scholarship through Inspiring Teens Magazine help you? Earning a scholarship through Inspiring Teens Magazine would help me continue pursuing my goals of creating opportunities for students through entrepreneurship, leadership, and civic engagement. It would support my educational journey while allowing me to invest more time and resources into growing FutureLead and expanding access to business and leadership education. Beyond the financial support, this scholarship would serve as encouragement that young people can make a meaningful impact and would inspire me to continue using my voice to create positive change in my community and beyond. This money will also be used to help pay for my tuition once I get into college, which is one of my biggest goals. What is your ideal dream job if it were offered to you today? I would love to become the CEO of a company or an advocate for change. I want to make a true difference and be a leader, and both would be amazing areas where I can do that. What made you say “yes” to the Inspiring Teens contest, and how did you feel when you first started? I said yes because I saw it as an opportunity to share my mission of making business and leadership education more accessible. At first, I was excited but also nervous to put myself and my story out there. What is one moment during the contest so far that has made you feel proud or realize you were growing - in confidence, mindset, or taking action? The biggest moment for me was realizing that my story could inspire others, not just represent my own journey. That shifted my mindset from focusing on myself to focusing on the impact I could have. Now that you have your interview, which leaderboard level are you most looking forward to and why? Icon Distinction. I want to go as far as possible in this competition! If another teen is thinking about joining the Inspiring Teens Magazine Contest but feels unsure, what would you tell them? There are only positives from joining this contest. This was an awesome experience, and I have zero regrets doing this. Is there anyone you'd like to thank for helping you get where you are today? My parents; they have been my biggest supporters, and I would never be where I am today if it wasn’t for the guidance and support they have given me. Is there anything else you’d like to tell us? If students are ever interested in getting involved with any of the work I do, feel free to send me a DM through my social media! @tanmaydonti.public
