Emma Briggs - Texas Nomination by Ciara Honeycutt Photography by Brittni Briggs Issue 48 of Inspiring Teens Magazine
Nomination: Emma, the oldest of nine children in her family, has always exuded a level of responsibility and loyalty that would be expected of a Fortune 500 CEO. Emma is a natural born leader who peers are ecstatic to follow due to her love for others, her resilient spirit, and most importantly her unwavering devotion to God and her church. Emma, although boasting a full schedule of extracurriculars, is incessantly finding ways to serve her congregation, friends, and even strangers. She is always the first to step up when there is a task to handle, and the last to demand credit.
What should we know about you? I am the oldest of 9 children. I have 3 biological siblings and 5 adopted. I am very passionate about foster care and would love to be interviewed over it!
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? I have overcome many obstacles in life, such as a house fire during quarantining due to Covid. I then developed severe anxiety and OCD as a result. A year later, I now am a big advocate for mental health awareness and breaking the stigma around it.
If you were to present a topic to a group of your peers, what would it be and why? I would talk about how to overcome anxiety with the help of the Lord. He was my light through the darkest time in my life and the reason I am who I am today. I would love to help others discover Him and use His guidance to direct them through trials in life.
