Morgan Young Shares Her STYLE
I'm Morgan Young and I'm a junior at Council Rock High School North. When I was deciding about what style I wanted to choose for this photoshoot, I didn’t even need to think about what I wanted to do because I immediately knew this was the style for me! For my style, I chose a 50's themed look. This style has always stood out to me because I have always loved the look. I originally picked this era because I fell in love with rockabilly dresses. I saw pictures of them and I instantly knew this was the style for me! Although this style includes peter pan collared shirts and poodle skirts as well, I loved the idea of a classic and retro 50's look! I knew immediately that this was the style that I wanted to recreate, because I have always loved dressing up.
Wearing this outfit made me feel confident and I feel like it fits my personality perfectly, because I can be outgoing and make a statement if I want to. Sometimes I’m convinced that I was born in the wrong era because I would have loved to dress like this all the time, because the look is so appealing to me. It would be a great experience to spend everyday getting dolled up like this on a daily basis, but sadly this style would take too long to recreate enough outfits. I don't dress like this everyday but if I could, I would, because the style is unique but very cute! I have always loved the style of this era ever since I’ve see it portrayed in movies or even TV shows, and especially from Grease. I know it's not what all of the women wore in this time period but it's special to me because it's my own take on the 50’s. This look is perfect if you like to dress up and be bold!
My Fashion Style - By Brooke Young | Winter 2017 Issue
My name is Brooke Young, and I am in 11th grade at Council Rock High School North. I would describe my style as sporty or even sporty casual. My style wasn't always like this, until the past few years about when I started high school. Growing up I always dressed a little sporty but my style has changed a little through the years. Ever since I started running spring track and field in 9th grade, I started to dress more sporty all the time.
I didn't realize I was dressing more sporty outside of track and at first it was what seemed normal because that’s what I practiced in. Once I noticed and after awhile people had pointed out the way I was dressing, even though I hadn't noticed I found out my style! This is when my style started to stay in one style of clothes. I think my style is unique in the way that most of what I wear is from track and field even though some of my sporty clothes are not track based. I have a ton of shirts from different meets and a few invitationals I’ve ran in, and from the track clothing order so it's what I’m wearing most of the time! Wearing sporty clothes is a more comfortable style and not hard to buy clothes for.
Most of these clothes are inexpensive, and are located in many different stores. Most of these clothes also aren't hard to find so it’s easier for me to add to my collection! Most sporting goods stores carry clothes that fit into this category, as do department stores too. There are times that I do try to wear some other clothing styles, but most of the time you will see me in sporty clothes!
