Emily Cunningham Interview with Zoe D’Angelo Nomination & Photography by Betsy Snyder of Simply Time Photography New York Issue 15
The Nomination: Emily is an amazing student as well as a talented golfer. She started playing gold when she was four years old and has practiced around 20 hours a week all through high school. She loved playing because it is her escape. She was offered scholarships to play at LeMoyne, Adelphi and Oral Roberts University. She has played at Bethpage, Trump International, West Chester, Myrtle Gold Club, Arcadians Shores, Harbour Town Golf Links, Long Cove Golf Course, Corning Country Club, Elmira Country Club, Penn State White course, Toftrees Golf Resort and won many of the events she entered. She is also pursuing a career in law. She is a gem to be around and you will fall in love with her the minute you meet her! I met her when I was hired to photograph her for her senior portraits.
How did you become interested in golf? My step father introduced me to golf when I was four years old. I started to take the game more seriously in middle school.
Is there a certain time of day/week that you prefer to golf? Sundays are my favorite day of the week to play. I enjoy playing after I attend church.
Where was your favorite place to golf? Harbour Town Golf Links. The course is beautiful and well kept.
Do you plan to continue with golf in the future? Yes, I plan on competing more as an amateur golfer in tournaments. I plan on playing at the collegiate level in the Spring.
Tell me about your career in law? I plan on going into corporate or family law. I’m drawn to corporate law because I am business-minded. I’m drawn to family law because I want to be able to help people who are struggling with divorce and/or custody.
