Liliane Evangelista – Arkansas Nomination & Photography by Dianacphotography.com Issue 59 of Inspiring Teens Magazine
Nomination: Liliane Evangelista, a student in the Rogers Honor Academy, does volunteering through a club at the schools. Her goals are to graduate with honors, so she would have the opportunity to apply to the top 100th universities in the country. She is apart of the swimming team; this will be her second year in this team. She has made a lot improvement in swimming, and she loves being apart of a team. She also does CrossFit twice a week with me (her mom). At the moment, she is not doing any activity at Interact Club/Rotary. During the summer, she'd babysitting a few kids, and she just now got her permit. Recently, she started her first job. Lili has proven that her ADD can't stop her from achieving her goals; she has to do a little more work than others. Even though she learns at different pace than the other kids, Lili will be the first person in her family to go to college! She is an introvert, yet she has a beautiful soul. -Diana Castillo
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? Inspiring things about me that my nomination does not cover is that I try to keep my grades maintained. Likewise, I'd keep a good GPA for college and the Rogers Honor Academy.
What else would you like to talk about? I most like to talk about in my interview is how I'd be the first person in my family to go to college, and the first person in my family to also get a degree. Speaking of, both sides of my family have never had a family member go to college before.
If you were to present a topic to a group of your peers, what would it be and why? If I were to present a topic to a group of my peers, the topic would be Math. Math is the one thing that made sense to me when I struggled so much with reading, writing, and etc. My topic would be about how we all learn different at divergent speeds. In fact, everyone has dissimilar ideas of solving unalike solutions. Such as, one pair of shoe doesn't fit everyone the same way. Overall, I feel like that is an issue that I'm passionate to talk about.
