Bailey Briscoe – Georgia Nomination & Photography by Beautiful Memories Photography by Aurora Issue 71 of Inspiring Teens Magazine
Nomination: Bailey is a beautiful, kind, and intelligent young lady. If you are looking for an Inspiring Teen look no further than Bailey. She spends her free time volunteering at Attic Treasures which donates proceeds to families in the community. She has a 4.0 and has been recognized for honors her entire school career. She is also a member of the Beta Club and National Honors Society. She balances her academics and volunteering while also holding down a part-time job and making time for church and her friends. She embodies what an inspiring teen is.
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? I am a people pleaser, although people may say that’s a bad thing, I am quick to help a friend out. If anyone comes to me with a problem, I do my best to help them fix it. I like to motivate people to be the best version of themselves and never give up on a dream!
What else would you like to talk about? Kindness is key. Don’t let people walk all over you and stand your ground but also treat people nicely. You never know what someone is going through so do your best to be kind even when people are rude to you.
What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever? My future. I’ve always wanted to be a good mom. I want to raise kindhearted young children. I want to be the mom my kids can go to whenever they are in doubt or trouble. Many kids nowadays don’t get a proper influence from parents, and I aspire to be a mom who influences my kids in the best way possible.
How did you find your photographer, Beautiful Memories Photography By Aurora? What was your experience like? What did you love most about it? She is my boyfriend's mom. She is easy to talk to and she wanted to do my senior pictures. She recently did my prom pictures as well. She is amazing at her work, and I look up to her in every way. I love how she makes it easy, not awkward. With all her clients she makes it a personal connection.
How did you get involved with Attic Treasures? I needed hours for my clubs at school and I thought it would be a great way to help my local community. It is a store run by volunteers only and my mom loves shopping there because it’s a secondhand shop where everything is donated. They give scholarships to students at our local high school and love giving back to the community.

What specifically do you do with your time while volunteering there? Sort shelves, assist customers, and any small tasks they need me to do. I love how active in the community they are and how I get to meet new people.
What have you learned about yourself in the process? Buying things brand new doesn’t make you better than everyone else. I was scared for a long time thinking about how much I would get judged for wearing secondhand clothes. Honestly, I learned that I am me and I don’t have to listen to people who have negative views on how I live my life. Having expensive things doesn’t make you superior. What matters is the type of person you truly are.
What type of leader are you and what is your strongest leadership quality? I’m an encourager. At my part time job, I am working towards a leadership position, and I have learned that encouraging others keeps the going. Sometimes people need a little push and words such as, “you’re doing great!” It helps them reassure themselves not to give up and their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. My best quality is being positive even when everything seems to go wrong. It creates a better atmosphere.
Why is a high GPA and high honors important to you? I have always loved learning, I wanted to push myself because nothing is handed out in life, it is earned. Earning good grades takes effort, but I know that when I look back, I won’t regret not trying. I’ll go further in life as long as I keep trying.
What is the Beta Club and what do you do in it? Beta club is an organization ran by students who excel academically and volunteer in their community and school. I do different things around my school such as hanging up positive posters and volunteering at attic treasures as my main way to give back. It’s the little things that can make a difference.
What is your favorite accomplishment in Beta Club? Getting recognized as a good student. Beta club is an invite only organization and the fact that I was recognized for the good work I do made me feel good. While the recognition is not why I do it, it does feel good to know that people are watching.
What do you love most about being in the NHS? I love that I’m surrounded by people that are willing to help others. People who put in the effort. I’ve made friends who excel in academics and I feel like I belong in a group who loves both learning and giving back.

What have you learned about the general public while working at your part time job? Not everyone is going to be nice. Some people come in having a bad day and a bad attitude. While it may be difficult, continue smiling and asking “how was your day?” it could change a persons mindset for the rest of the day. You never know what others are going through so choose to be kind.
What do you love most about your church? The people. I’ve met many people at church who have given me advice, made me smile when I felt like crying, and show me that I may not feel okay but God has a plan for me and he will guide me. I find joy in the little kids running around laughing and having the wiser people come up and give me hugs. Church is home for me.
What do you and your friends like to do together? Honestly, we love having late night talks in the car while eating Sonic ice cream. We have mini dance parties jamming to our music one minute and the next we are in a deep sentimental conversation.
How would your friends describe you? Crazy, I have a personality that shines once I get to know people. I love making people laugh and smile. I seem to always be willing to help. Even on my bad days I still choose to make people happy.
What is a favorite family vacation memory you will never forget? The time we went to the beach and I found 172 shark teeth. I love sharks they are my favorite animals and the fact that I found that many in one day made me so happy. My whole family loves shark teeth hunting as a hobby and that day we all got to be together and do what we love.
