Amaya Walsh – Ohio Nomination by Heidy Walsh Photography by Eyes of Joe Photography Issue 76 of Inspiring Teens Magazine
Nomination: Amaya Walsh is an extremely hard working teenager. She started taking college courses last year in highschool and will be set to complete her first year of college before her senior year of highschool even starts! Amaya carries herself with so much confidence while also pouring her heart out for others in need. Amaya wants to go into psychology in college in an effort to use it for caring for the elderly to ensure they are always shown the love and respect they deserve, while also giving them the best final years of their lives.
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? My tenacity for hard work is unmatched. I have held a job since I was in 8th grade; the advantage of the covid workplace and the ice cream shop willing to hire me. I have always felt it is important to make and save my own money. It has taught me leadership skills that I can carry with me for my entire life. I was promoted to a management position in my sophomore year of high school and plan to carry those values well into my future.
What else would you like to talk about? The support of my family has helped me realize my full potential and I have reached goals far beyond where I thought my limitations lie. I play varsity golf, travel club volleyball, maintain honoroll status with college classes included, and hold down a job at 16 years old. I know I have a very bright future ahead of me and I cannot wait to see what’s in store for me!
What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever? I have a deep passion for painting. It has always helped me cope with the stress of teenage life and high school. My English teacher has walls of my murals in his classroom that I hope brings joy and comfort to all of the students who enter his room. My love for painting is also seen in my own home. My parents are a huge support and display my artwork all over the house. I love being able to share my passion with everyone who enters our home.
How did you find your photographer? What was your experience like? What did you love most about it? My best friend persuaded me to reach out to Eyes of Joe Photography to become a Senior Ambassador. I love a good photo shoot and Joe was exactly the kind of professional I wanted to work with. His photoshoots are natural yet exciting. Our passions for art and creativity just align and we work so well together!
