Amiah Murry - Alabama Nomination by Chris Murry Photography by Nirvana Gardens Issue 63 of Inspiring Teens Magazine
Nomination: The nomination Amiah Murry is inspiring to young Black women. She has strong features and is tall. In her Senior portraits, she shows off her feet and she takes pictures different from what’s expected of Senior portraits. She inspires her community and others around her through her gowns and pictures which emphasizes Black beauty.
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover?) I am a product of a single mother family with various struggles. Yet, I have managed to be top in my class, obtain many academic roles and awards, all while being an athlete. There is hope for everyone, regardless of where you are at life. Losing both of my grandmothers within less than 4 months between each other hit me hard. Grief is hard, but you have to keep going. God has a plan for everyone, and you can’t reach it without trying or failing.
What else would you like to talk about? Life has a funny way of bringing about opportunities. I met the photographer of my Senior portraits eating out at Prom. She followed me to the bathroom, complimented my dress and offered to take my Senior portraits. Now, I have beautiful pictures all because of perfect timing. Everything will fall into place, regardless of your situation keep praying and pushing on.
If you were to present a topic to a group of your peers, what would it be? I could talk about God and planning for the future. I chose this topic because everyone constantly rushes the future without consulting God. The anxiety and stress of life cannot be coaxed without God. Just praying and relying on him to pave your path is the best way to go about your future and stresses.
