Anna Gayler – Georgia Nomination & Photography by Michelle Petteys / Heritage Snapshots Issue 74 of Inspiring Teens Magazine
Nomination: Anna Gayler is involved in multiple extracurricular activities . She has served as the Vice President of her class for three years and is actively involved in band, theatre and HOSA. Anna has done all of this while taking a rigorous AP and Honors course load and maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Her leadership and academic success has been recognized by her memberships to The BETA Club, NHS, NEHS and Mu Alpha Theta. She has also been recognized as a UGA Merit Award recipient. In addition Anna has participated in multiple volunteer clinicals and has job shadowed an occupational therapist.
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? I have several certifications including CPR, First Aid, and many from FEMA. I also enjoy volunteering in my community, such as YMCA Miracle League. I have been rewarded several academic achievement awards for the highest average in my classes, and I completed the Health Occupations Pathway.
What else would you like to talk about? I want to thank everyone that has inspired me to keep going for more. My family, friends, and mentors have given me the strength and motivation to achieve everything I could want. The people I surround myself with truly have the biggest influence on me as a person.
What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever? I am very passionate about the medical field, specifically nursing. Medicine has always interested me, and it’s something I truly enjoy doing. Every opportunity I have had to be around the field of medicine has been truly life changing.
How did you find your photographer, Michelle Petteys / Heritage Snapshots? What was your experience like? What did you love most about it? I found my photographer through my school. She was also one of my teachers, and I have always really liked her. My experience was comfortable and familiar since I already knew her. The part I loved most about my shoot was having my family there, including my dog. It was nice to have them there, and we even got a few pictures with them too.
