Ashtyn Knowles – Texas Nomination by Julie Kusian Photography by Reflections By Rachel Van Chau Issue 53 of Inspiring Teens Magazine
Nomination: Ashtyn is an inspiring young woman on a multitude of levels. Ashtyn is an exceptional student, she pushes herself and excels in higher level courses and dual credit at Clear Springs High School, maintaining a 5.2 GPA. Ashtyn is a wonderful role model to her peers within her community as a past member of Assisted Teens and former assistant club volleyball coach. Ashtyn is a class representative for the junior class, is a current member of National Honors Society and participates in the schools chapter of FFA. Ashtyn is what any parent would hope for in a daughter.
What would you most like to be interviewed about? I would like to be interviewed on my shift from playing sports to completely shifting my hobbies around and joining FFA. I am now very involved in many different aspects of FFA as I am on multiple teams and raise many animals.
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? Early on in my childhood when I was only 7 years old my dad got deployed to war for 14 months. My mom had a full time job as an eye doctor and just had a new born baby so I had to take on a lot of responsibility. This included being independent in my school work and taking care of myself and my mom at a young age. This experience is what makes me as self sufficient and independent as I am today.
If you were to present a topic to a group of your peers, what would it be and why? I would talk about fishing because its one of my favorite hobbies to do in my free time with my dad. I could talk about different season, lures, rods, and may other things know and love about it.
