The Nomination: Chloe is inspiring for many reasons. I will give you a few. First, she has not always been the popular girl, the skinny girl, or the best athlete. Despite this she has remained true to herself and her character. In sports she puts in 110% even though she doesn’t always have the quickest time in swim or the lowest score in golf. She inspired her teammates to play golf because they wanted Chloe to have a team to play on. She pushes herself in swim to become the best swimmer she can be, and her hard work has paid off over time. She’s inspiring because even though she wasn’t the thinnest or most popular are true friends have been her friends through thick and thin. They respect her courage and ability to be ok with not always being the most popular. Finally, she inspires me as her parent because she picked a university and a major which wasn’t the family’s first pick and realized that she did not want to play golf in college. She had the courage to pick her own path and give valid and intelligent reasons why she has picked her path. So very proud of the hard working and strong-minded young lady she is becoming.
How did you become interested in swimming and golf? I did not make the cheerleading squad in my 6th grade year and was devastated. My dad had always golfed, and he was pretty good, so I thought I would give it a try. I ended up being good at it because I put a lot of hard work into playing. I started swimming when I was nine years old on a club team. I decided to get competitive in high school. I work extremely hard during practice and have found a lot of success with my hard work.
Why do you think you are inspiring? My biggest inspiration every day is to present myself in a positive light and to inspire others by my actions. I'm inspiring because I took situations that I was failing in and turned them around by working myself to my fullest advantage.
What are your plans for after school? I plan to attend Kent State University. My major will be in Fashion Merchandising. I originally had intended to go into pharmacy but realized my talents of styling would not be used. I decided to go after my passion, which is fashion.
