Faith Lynn Dickinson - Florida Nomination by Lorraine Dickinson Photography by Baron DaParre (above) & KS Fine Arts (below) Issue 45 of Inspiring Teens Magazine
Nomination: I am nominating Faith Lynn Dickinson for inspiring teen because of the tragedies she has overcome in the last four years. Faith lost her big sister, Katarina, four years ago in a tragic car accident & in the last year several close family pets. Despite everything she’s been through, Faith has persevered and is enrolled in advanced classes at school with a 4.0 GPA, is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, and is a starter on her school's Varsity Volleyball and Basketball Teams. Faith also takes 6 dance classes several days a week. Faith is following in her sister’s footsteps.
How did you get into modeling and acting & what do you love about it? When I was younger, and my sister was alive she was a model and actress. I went on all her castings and the photo shoots and always admired what she did. She got to meet so many people and wear different fashion from so many designers. I love modeling and acting because you get to meet so many different types of people, you get to travel, and you get to wear all kinds of clothing. Keeps you very busy.
What was the scariest moment and acting and how did you get past it? During pre-production in a film called Cat6, I have to crawl on my hands and knees through a small hallway in a motel with strobe lights flashing. I couldn’t see anything and had to pretend someone was chasing me and holding me. I just put myself in the character’s shoes & connected by being really scared in crowds to go super-fast to get this thing over with.
What is your favorite model memory? In the Fashion and Art show Scene to Be Seen, I got to be a living model on a pedestal while hundreds of people walked around and watched me model a wearable art by Turk and Turk called “Play Ball”. It was so much fun. I loved interacting with all the people who came to see us.
What do you love most about school? I go to an all-sports school call Sky Academy, so I would have to say all the sport activities I get to participate in - but I also love my Soar language arts class. I love to write stories from my heart. What do you hope to study if you don’t stay with acting and modeling? As of now only being in 7th grade I hope to accomplish graduating with an associate degree while going to a collegiate high school. Then maybe pursuing a career in the orthodontics field. I love children and the flexibility of being an orthodontist.
What was the hardest thing you ever had to accomplish and how did you go about doing it? Going on and supporting family members after my sister passed in a car accident. I know I want her to be proud of me and she would want me to be happy. So, I get up every day and do my best to accomplish goals I set for myself. I keep my Faith in God knowing I will see her again. Pain never goes away, but you learn to manage it with good friends and family support.
What’s your favorite past time that was not in your nomination? I love to play volleyball, basketball and I take six day of classes a week. I love any sport but I also love being a traveling mermaid.
What are three things on your bucket list? Swimming with the sharks, taking a trip to Paris to see all the sites and fashions, going to Hawaii to learn to surf.
