What should we know about you? I feel that the magazine should know about how far I want to go to pursue my dreams instead of settling for something less!! From consistent work in high school, doing extra volunteer work that I enjoy, grabbing opportunities when I can! I feel that I have done very well to present myself in a manner of good sorts to colleges ,because of my work I do in high school and how I maintain good standings and work many hours. I am in Honor Societies, played sports, work lots of hours, and I’m also an ambassador as my school so I help create events and do volunteer services. I have done my best to create a nice smooth path for myself!
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? I feel my nomination gives light on my scholar accomplishments, but no so much my outside life. I feel the most inspiring thing about me would be my job and how I go about doing my job. I love my residents and the people I get to take care of on a daily basis! It has been eye opening to me on how all people should be treated and how much of an impact one 17 year old girl can make on peoples lives! It’s taught me patience and how to be caring towards all people and has made me feel purposeful. I couldn’t be more thankful for the way being an aid has taught me! It’s not an easy job either, not at all. I’ve been beat up, screamed at, dealt with deaths, watching people die. It’s been hard, but life changing and it has shown me that I can love something I never would have expected to. I have found a new love, and I never would have expected it to be a love of mine. I had one grandmother pass in the nursing home and then nursing homes scared me from that. But, through my school I have found myself livening the nurse aide life!
If you were to present a topic to a group of your peers, what would it be and why? It would be about the welfare of animals or the elderly population! This is because not only do I work as a licensed aid in a nursing home, but I have a strong feeling towards the well being of the elderly. I have gotten so close with so many residents. They almost become your best friend! So, when I know that not every one does their job they don’t receive the best care they could get. On top of that, I am going to the University Of Findlay for their pre-vet program so animals have a huge spot in my heart and my life, animals have been there through all my struggles and downfalls. I could talk about so many things such as, the wrong authorization of animals and why adopting is better than shopping for dogs. I have rescued all my dogs and the ones who don’t get rescued are the ones who sit in kennels and get euthanized.
