Jackie Johnson - Minnesota Nomination and Photography by Lainie Hiller Photography Issue 48 of Inspiring Teens Magazine
Nomination: Jackie Johnson is kind, giving, humble and fiercely competitive, Jackie is an athlete who is focused on helping her teammates win- giving encouragement, staying positive and never giving up. Jackie always plays basketball with high intensity and is famous for her deep 3-point shot, and for being fearless in her play. For the last two seasons, the varsity team has held a fundraiser- soliciting donations for each charge taken during the season. Jackie had both one of the highest donation rates, as well as being at the top of the list for taking charges. Jackie plans to attend school to study physical therapy.
What should we know about you? I am living in Minnesota, growing up doing things that aren't typical "girly things".
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? I help with the local middle and elementary school kids with basketball camps whenever I can, having an older player there helps keep them inspired and motivated to keep playing and working hard.
If you were to present a topic to a group of your peers, what would it be on and why? I could talk about all the memories I've had with my teammates over the years and how sports have a positive impact on kids.
