Jaycee Osina – Texas Nomination & Photography by Angie Read Photography Issue 57 of Inspiring Teens Magazine
Nomination: Jaycee Osina is the type of girl that is every mom’s dream. Don’t let her small stature deceive you, she is a fighter through and through. She works hard to perfect everything she puts her mind to. Jaycee juggles school, FFA, Drill Team, and her friends unlike any other kid I have known. She maintains straight “A”s and well over a GPA of 6.6 to ensure she is ready for her college applications. She sets such high goals for herself and makes sure she has the right tools to accomplish them. She is an inspiration to all.
What would you most like to be interviewed about? Something extremely important to me that I would like to be interviewed about is my involvement in my high school drill team. I am currently serving as Spirit Leader on the Bridgeland Belles. Having the incredible opportunity to be a light for my team is something that I will forever hold dear to my heart.
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? I believe the most inspiring thing about me is my ability to find the good in every person I meet. I know a lot of people are fighting battles that we aren’t aware of, so being a positive light in other’s lives is a big part of my personality. Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and compassion, no matter what.
If you were to present a topic to a group of your peers, what would it be? If I were to present a topic to my group of peers, it would most definitely be about the importance of mental health awareness. As someone who has seen the people close to me struggle, it is crucial that mental health is talked about more, and that resources are available to everyone.
