Kait Tyler – Texas Nomination & Photography by Allen David Photography Issue 59 of Inspiring Teens Magazine
Nomination: Kait Tyler is a sophomore at Flower Mound High School and a second-year team member on the world-renowned Flower Mound High School Color Guard. She balances an intense practice schedule for a sport she has been perfecting since the spring semester of 6th grade. She juggles effortlessly high school, color guard, and this past summer, one of her high school wishes turned into a reality when she was invited to be a Premier Model with Allen David Photography. When she graduates from college, she wants to join the Army and train to become an ER Doctor.
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? My inspiring things may seem small to some, but were big to me, were the educational delays I experienced as a younger child. As I have gotten older, my challenges seem so small compared to those with more significant life challenges. Despite that, I still lived through them. I am grateful every day that I have the most supportive parents and was provided the best educational support to get me the help I needed to be successful.
What else would you most like to talk about? The journey I've taken over the years to find my true self and learn to love myself, even though I'm different from most children.
If you were to present a topic to a group of your peers, what would it be and why? I would speak about "It's okay to not be okay". I have struggled with a few setbacks growing up and I have not always been comfortable with them. It's taken me years to find my true self. My experience through those adversities has only made me stronger.
