Karianne Whitney - Utah Nomination & Photography by Christine Lan Photography Issue 55 of Inspiring Teens Magazine
Nomination: Karianne is a Senior at Cedar Valley High School. In tandem with school, she attended a certification program to become a Certified Dental Assistant. She volunteers her time at church ministering to those in need. She also helped care for her great grandfather who lived with her family for 4 months until his passing by making meals, hygiene care, and spending time with him. She currently helps care for her 4-year-old niece after school and has been doing so since she was an infant. To know Karianne is to love her! She is a mature, loving, and compassionate young lady.
What would you most like to be interviewed about? I would want to be interviewed about the kind of person I want to become. And something you should know about me is that I'm a compassionate person who always strives to be a better version of who I already am.
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? I am a very hard worker and when I set my mind to something, I get it done in the best way I can. I don't settle for anything less than I know I can do. I'm a loving person and care about everyone. I always try my best to make sure no one feels left out. I love to serve others and make sure everyone gets the help they need.
If you were to present a topic to a group of your peers, what would it be? I would talk about how everyone should chase after their own dreams and not let others influence them in a negative way. Because I feel like too many people share their dreams to friends and family, but then either get talked out of it or they aren't supportive. If there is something you're passionate about then you should chase after it and always believe in yourself and do your best.
