Kassidy Harmon - Georgia Nomination and Photography by Robin Chance Photography Issue 49 of Inspiring Teens Magazine
Nomination: Kassidy is an honor student at Haralson County High School where she serves as a leader in many clubs and organizations resulting in an abundance of awards and accomplishments. She has served as a state officer for Georgia CTI, a career and technical student organization, for the past 2 years. While serving as president last year she is very proud to have had a hand in moving the program to a virtual platform so Georgia CTI could continue to serve students with disabilities and get them ready to enter the workforce. While still exploring her career path, she is leaning toward the field of therapeutic medicine as she prepares to attend college after graduation. She loves spending time with family, friends and her dog Stella. Kassidy's heart is as big as her smile which is evident in her many accomplishments and her dedication to serving others. It has been a pleasure getting to know her as she serves as one my Class of 2022 Senior Model Team!
What should we definitely know about you? I am very passionate about mental health and people with “unseen” disabilities getting the accommodations they need without fear of embarrassment or being ashamed.
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? Georgia CTI, the student organization I am a state office of, is an organization for students with learning disabilities to have a place to belong and learn.
If you were to present a topic to a group of your peers, what would it be on and why? That learning disabilities don’t make you less than or stupid.
