Tell us about your art work. What do you love to create, and what do you use to create it? I make art without an end goal in mind. I always want my pieces to roll with the punches and show the progression of the work and the aesthetics are a bonus. I scored a 4 on my portfolio in the AP art program my senior year. Anything I can glue, cut, or collect will find paint and hit the canvas!
What is your favorite art piece you've created? We'd love to see a picture! I made a piece in my AP art class that was meant to represent twin flames or soul mates. This was my smallest and least time consuming piece but it is honestly my favorite. It was fun to make and has, in my opinion, the best color pallet from my portfolio!
What type of jewelry do you make and what inspires your creativity in this field? I mostly make wire wrapped crystal jewelry. There are no restrictions with what can be made using materials as malleable as wire on a base as freeform as natural stone. My main inspiration to create jewelry is to share my love for rocks with other people with similar passions! I have my trio of pliers to do all the crafting with. Rounded for twists and turns, clippers for…clipping, and flat sided for just about everything else! If I’m working with a softer metal or brittle stone I wrap a bit of fabric around the pincers to prevent scratching.
What do you listen to while creating artwork or/and jewelry? I’ve really been into dark cabaret and folk music genres lately so they have been my theme music for making!
What have you learned about business while selling both your artwork and your jewelry? While selling my art and jewelry I have learned how to manage a side hustle and school at the same time from a early age. I learned I really like money!

What inspired you to go into nursing? I took an Intro to Health Occupations class in 9th grade and my teacher was always enthusiastic about everything he taught. I hadn't been interested in much of anything career-wise but this class opened my eyes to a future I would enjoy and from there I was dead set on the medical field. I really settled into this career path my 11th and 12th grade year by taking as many medical classes as I could…
What are you most looking forward to while attending SLU? I’m looking forward to meeting new people and starting a new chapter of my life!
What will you miss most about your home town? I’m commuting to school instead of living on campus so I still have a few years left in my hometown! There is a flea market near my house that I am a regular customer at that I will miss when I move!
How did you find and why did you choose your photographer, Amy Weathers Photography? My best friend got her senior pictures done by Amy Weathers and the final results were so unique and my friend was glowing with excitement after her photoshoot. From hearing about her experience, I felt confident Ms. Amy would make this fun and have me feeling fabulous! She did not disappoint and brought forward pictures that really felt like me!
What was your planning and photo shoot experience like? What did you love most about it? Amy Weathers made the planning phase of the shoot a breeze! When we were taking pictures Ms Amy was all in with me. I loved her commitment to the shot! I was under a bush at one point and she got under there with me to get the perfect shot!

What else should we definitely know about you? I love learning new things! As of last summer, I picked up roller skating at a skate park. I've taught myself to play the ukulele & bass guitar. It's still a work in progress but I've been learning to speak Russian. And if you need it, you name it, I probably have it in my purse!
What type of music do you like to play? Do you have a go-to song? What is it? On bass I like playing more alternative rock music but on baritone ukulele I am more of a folk person. I do! My go to song on bass is Fluorescent Adolescence by Arctic Monkeys.
What is the most unusual thing you have in your purse right now? I have a dice set in my purse I keep on me for the chance I go play an impromptu dnd session! So maybe it’s a little geeky but it’s the truth and I can live with that!

What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? I think my encouraging attitude and positive outlook are inspiring and I'm often told that I'm very helpful. Recently I realized that acts of service is my love language. I find so much joy in being able to help someone no matter the size of the task. This often makes me the go-getter of the group, which is a role I gladly take on. Something I do for my family and friends as my way of saying "I care about you" is making food for them and I'm quick to give a compliment, even if we've just met.
If you were to present a topic to a group of your peers, what would it be? I have a passion for Refashion! When there's something that I need, instead of buying it brand new, typically I'll just make what I need using things I already have. Taking items that are seemingly useless and giving them new purpose, is something that I practice and enjoy. Giving used items their full potential, outside of their intended purpose, extends their lifetime. For instance, my favorite skirt was bought second hand and as its begun to fall apart, I've kept it alive with patches and my own stitching. To this day it's still part of my wardrobe.
