Lauren Briggs – Kansas Nomination by Melanie Briggs Photography by NKG Imagery Issue 51 of Inspiring Teens Magazine
Nomination: Lauren Briggs is inspiring because she is an honor student taking five AP classes this year and still finds time to serve on the youth leadership team at church. She tried out for a new sport, tennis, and was successful although she had never played it before competitively. She continues to play volleyball on a club team and is active in the school choir. She has also been selected for District and State Choirs multiple times while in high school. With all her activities she also finds time to be a brand ambassador for Altar'd State and have an active social life with friends.
What would you most like to be interviewed about? I would want to be interviewed about my family. Everyone in my family is very supportive of my goals and dreams and have always been there for me. I’m not just talking about my parents. My little sister and grandparents are there for me too. They have all been to countless games, concerts, and other events to cheer me on. Their unconditional love and my faith in God gives me the belief that I can accomplish my dreams.
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? My nomination covered most of the activities I am involved in, but I would like to elaborate more on my passion for singing. I have been involved in Choir since I was in the 4th grade. I have been selected for Honor and District choirs many times and have been selected to State Choir four times. I am on the Choir Leadership Team at my school and sing for the youth group at my church. I also enjoy singing around the house for my family.
If you were to present a topic to a group of your peers, what would it be and why? If I were to present a topic to a group of my peers I would talk about my faith. My belief in God has gotten me through some difficult times. Involvement in the youth group at my church has also given me a good group of friends that I can lean on and have lots of fun with. Being on the youth leadership team has also given me life skills in leadership, responsibility, and helped me grow as a person.
