How would you describe your leadership style?

I would describe my leadership style as one that emphasizes empowerment through positive encouragement and respect. I believe in leading by example, demonstrating integrity, empathy, and humility in all actions and interactions. My approach is to inspire and support others to reach their full potential, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and motivated to contribute their best.

What is your best leadership quality?
My greatest leadership quality lies in my ability to mentor and uplift others, especially during times of discouragement. I firmly believe in the power of encouragement and support to inspire individuals to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. I lead by example, demonstrating perseverance and determination, and encourage others to do the same. I believe that by staying focused on our goals and working hard, we can overcome any obstacle and achieve success.

Why are academics so important to you?
Academics hold great importance to me due to their role in shaping a mindset primed for success, both in college and in any subsequent career. They provide a foundational knowledge base and critical thinking skills that are essential for navigating the challenges of higher education and the professional world. Strong academic performance opens doors to opportunities, equipping individuals with the tools needed to excel in their chosen paths and make meaningful contributions to society.

What is your favorite class this year and what is the most interesting thing you've learned?
My favorite class this year is Criminal Justice. It has been an enriching experience that has not only expanded my knowledge of the legal system but has also instilled in me valuable qualities such as leadership, empathy, integrity, and resilience in the face of challenges. Through this course, I have gained a deeper understanding of the complexities of the criminal justice system and have been inspired to approach issues with a more thoughtful and empathetic perspective. This class has not only broadened my academic horizons but has also shaped me into a more well-rounded and compassionate individual.

How do you help your local community foster children with motivation words?
From a young age, I have been involved in supporting foster children in my local community, inspired by my mother's dedication to providing them with a safe and nurturing environment. One of the ways I have contributed is by volunteering to perform a Christmas dance at the annual event she coordinated for them. In addition to this, I also shared positive words of encouragement, aiming to uplift and motivate these children who may be facing difficult circumstances. These experiences have taught me the importance of empathy, kindness, and the impact that small gestures of support can have on the lives of others.

What is the criminal justice team at your school and how do you take part in it?
The criminal justice team at my school is more than just a club; it serves as a gateway to various opportunities, including volunteering with our local police department, engaging in community service, and participating in fundraising events. My involvement in this team has been instrumental in developing a strong mindset, enhancing my communication skills, and fostering bravery. Through this experience, I have gained a deeper understanding of the criminal justice system and its impact on society. Additionally, the team has provided me with valuable hands-on experience and networking opportunities that will be beneficial as I pursue a career in this field.

What is your favorite achievement from being a part of this team?
My favorite achievement from being a part of the criminal justice team is my success at the state level competitions. In my first year of high school, I competed at the state level, which was a remarkable accomplishment. This year, I am proud to have won both the building search and S.W.A.T. competitions, earning the opportunity to represent my school at the state level once again. These achievements are a testament to my dedication, hard work, and the skills I have developed through my involvement in the team. They have not only bolstered my confidence but also reaffirmed my passion for pursuing a career in criminal justice.

What do you hope to do in the FBI?
In the FBI, my aspiration is to become a member of the Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.) team. I am deeply motivated to make a difference by serving on the front lines, protecting both my community and country from threats. This role requires a high level of physical and mental readiness, as well as exceptional teamwork and problem-solving skills, all of which I am committed to cultivating. By joining the S.W.A.T. team, I aim to contribute meaningfully to public safety and uphold the values of integrity, bravery, and service that are central to the FBI's mission.

Tell us about your modeling career.
I embarked on my modeling career at the age of 13, inspired by my mother's work photographing confident and beautiful models. Over the years, I have gained valuable experience and honed my skills in the industry. Currently, I primarily focus on brand modeling for local Quinceanera and Glamour boutiques. This work allows me to showcase the elegance and style of these brands while continuing to grow as a model. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had thus far and look forward to further developing my modeling career in the future.

What sports do you play?
I am actively involved in volleyball and softball, both of which I find immensely enjoyable and rewarding. Additionally, I practiced Jujitsu for nearly three years and plan to resume training soon. Among these sports, Jujitsu holds a special place as my favorite due to the invaluable benefits it has brought me. Jujitsu has not only equipped me with self-defense skills but has also instilled in me a sense of self-confidence and self-discipline. These qualities have transcended the sport, positively influencing various aspects of my life.

What else would you like to talk about?
I would like to discuss the importance of pursuing our passions and giving our best efforts. I strongly believe that by wholeheartedly engaging in activities we enjoy, we open doors to endless possibilities and personal growth. I would emphasize that embracing challenges and stepping out of our comfort zones are crucial for realizing our full potential. By sharing this perspective, I hope to inspire others to courageously pursue their dreams and discover their own capabilities.

What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever?
I am deeply passionate about criminal justice and could talk about it endlessly. I believe that while we may not be able to change the entire world, we can certainly make a meaningful difference in our communities every day. My career aspirations align with this passion, as I am determined to pursue a path in criminal justice and ultimately join the S.W.A.T. team. My involvement in the criminal justice class for the past two years has been transformative. It has not only deepened my understanding of the field but has also helped me develop crucial skills such as leadership, a strong mindset, effective communication, and bravery. I am incredibly grateful for the support of my instructors and my family, whose encouragement has been invaluable.

Last year, as a freshman, I was the only student from my class to qualify for the State competition. This year, I have once again qualified for State and will be competing against students from other schools. I am filled with excitement and determination as I look forward to this challenge.

How did you find your photographer, Elizabeth Perez? What was your experience like? What did you love most about it?
I am fortunate to have my mother as my personal photographer. Working with her has been a truly positive experience, as it has taught me to overcome shyness and embrace confidence in front of the camera. My mother's professionalism and expertise in photography have been invaluable, and her guidance has taught me to be authentic and to love myself. What I love most about working with her is the supportive and empowering environment she creates, allowing me to express myself freely and capture genuine moments.

If you had nothing to do and all day to do it, where would we find you?
If I had a day with no obligations, you would likely find me at home, relaxing and watching Netflix with my beloved fur baby, Princess. This downtime allows me to unwind and enjoy some quality time with my furry companion. Princess is not just a pet but a cherished member of our family, and our time together brings me immense joy and comfort. Whether we're watching a favorite show or simply lounging together, these moments are precious and help me recharge for the days ahead.

What is up next for you that you are super excited about?
I am incredibly excited about the upcoming State competition in Dallas, Texas, following our spring break vacation. This event presents a valuable opportunity for me and my criminal justice team to showcase our skills and knowledge on a larger platform. I am looking forward to the challenges and learning experiences that lie ahead, as well as the chance to represent my school and community at such a prestigious event.

What is the hardest thing you have ever accomplished, and how did you do it?
The hardest challenge I have ever faced was winning the State competition for my criminal justice class. This competition was particularly challenging because we were judged by real S.W.A.T. officers who evaluated every move and word we used during the tests. To achieve this, I employed a multifaceted approach.

Firstly, I dedicated a significant amount of time to preparing for the competition. This involved studying diligently, practicing scenarios, and refining my communication skills. I also sought guidance from my instructors and peers, who provided valuable insights and feedback.
Secondly, I focused on maintaining a positive mindset throughout the preparation process and during the competition itself. I reminded myself of the hard work I had put in and the skills I had developed, which helped boost my confidence and composure.

Finally, I embraced the challenge with determination and a willingness to learn from each experience. I approached each test as an opportunity to improve and grow, rather than viewing mistakes as setbacks. Through perseverance, preparation, and a positive attitude, I was able to overcome the challenges and achieve success in the State competition for criminal justice.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be where you are today?
My advice to those aspiring to achieve their goals is to never doubt themselves but instead, focus on working diligently to accomplish their aspirations. It's essential to maintain a strong belief in your abilities and to persevere through challenges that may arise along the way. By staying committed to your objectives and putting in the necessary effort, you can overcome obstacles and achieve success. Remember, the path to success is rarely easy, but with dedication and determination, you can reach your goals.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years/what are your plans?
In five years, I envision myself having graduated with a master's degree in criminal justice and embarking on a fulfilling career. My goal is to join a dynamic and impactful team where I can apply my knowledge and skills to make a positive difference in the field of criminal justice. I aspire to take on challenging roles that allow me to continue learning and growing, ultimately contributing to the safety and well-being of my community. Through hard work, dedication, and a passion for my work, I am confident that I will achieve these goals and continue to advance in my career.

What is your favorite activity or pastime that was not in your nomination?
One of my favorite pastimes that was not mentioned in my nomination is dancing and performing in talent shows at my school. Dancing has always been a passion of mine, allowing me to express myself creatively and connect with others. Participating in talent shows provided me with a platform to showcase my talent and entertain my peers, creating unforgettable memories. Dancing has been a source of joy and relaxation for me, offering a much-needed break from the demands of everyday life.

Do you have a hidden talent?
Yes, I have a hidden talent for dancing and quickly learning new steps, even with short notice. I find joy in the spontaneity and challenge of picking up dance routines on the spot, showcasing my ability to adapt and perform under pressure. This talent has allowed me to participate in various dance performances and events, where I am able to demonstrate my skill and passion for dance.

3 Things on your bucket list:
1. Travel to Paris: I dream of experiencing the rich culture, history, and beauty of Paris, exploring its iconic landmarks, tasting exquisite cuisine, and immersing myself in the art and fashion scene. Visiting Paris would be a dream come true, allowing me to create lasting memories and broaden my perspective.

2. Model for Top Brands: As a model, I aspire to represent and collaborate with renowned fashion brands, showcasing their collections and embodying their unique styles. This goal not only reflects my passion for modeling but also my desire to inspire others through fashion and creativity.

3. Own Makeup Line: Another ambition of mine is to establish my own makeup line, offering high-quality products that empower individuals to express themselves confidently. I envision creating a range of versatile and inclusive cosmetics that cater to diverse skin tones and preferences, making beauty accessible to all.

These aspirations drive me to strive for excellence in my pursuits and continually seek new opportunities for growth and fulfillment.

Who do you find inspiring?
I find inspiration in several individuals who have had a significant impact on my life and career aspirations. Firstly, my oldest brother and younger brother serve as sources of inspiration for me. They have both achieved their career goals through hard work, dedication, and perseverance, demonstrating the importance of determination and commitment in pursuing one's dreams. Their success motivates me to strive for excellence in my own endeavors.

Additionally, I am inspired by my criminal justice instructors, who have played a pivotal role in shaping my academic and professional journey. Their mentorship and guidance have instilled in me valuable qualities such as confidence, hard work, and dedication. Their commitment to excellence and passion for the field of criminal justice serve as a constant reminder of the impact that dedicated individuals can have on others.

Overall, these individuals inspire me to approach life with a positive mindset, to work diligently towards my goals, and to always strive for personal and professional growth.

What about you inspires others/why do you think you are inspiring?
I believe that my ability to uplift and encourage others during challenging times is what inspires those around me. When friends or school peers are feeling discouraged, I make a conscious effort to offer them words of motivation and support. I believe in the power of positivity and strive to be a source of encouragement for others, helping them to see their potential and overcome obstacles.

I think this quality makes me inspiring because it shows that I genuinely care about the well-being of those around me. By offering words of encouragement, I aim to lift their spirits and help them believe in themselves. I believe that by spreading positivity and kindness, I can inspire others to do the same, creating a ripple effect of encouragement and support in our community.

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
I would like to share a final thought with you all: nothing is impossible when you work hard and remain committed to your goals. I have learned that with perseverance and dedication, we can overcome any obstacle and achieve great things. I want to encourage all the participants aiming to win this amazing opportunity to believe in themselves and their abilities. Each of you has a unique talent and potential, and I wish you all the best of luck in your endeavors. Remember, success is within reach if you are willing to work for it.
