Mckenzie Tucker - Colorado Nomination by Nicole Sattig Photography by Jeannie Seip Photography Issue 63 of Inspiring Teens Magazine
Nomination: Kenzie is my best friend and has inspired not just me but so many of her other friends and family in her lifetime. She is such a caring person who always wants to make you laugh and have fun. I truly believe she's inspiring teen worthy.

What do you and your BFF Nicole like to do together? We have always loved to have big sleepovers since we were little, and we also like to go on lunch and mall dates.
Where would we find you if you had all day to do and nothing to do it? I would take a drive to somewhere new and explore taking pictures.
What do you love most about senior year? You are finally at the top and almost there, so every experience is extra fun and special. I have made everything around experiences, and got a photography internship to focus on.
How did you find and why did you choose Jeannie Seip Photography for your photographer? I know multiple people that have gotten photos done by her, and I love the different settings she chose for each person.
What was your experience like? What did you love most about it? We did two different locations, and we had so much fun at the first. For the second, we went to a river and got into the water, which had to have been my favorite part!
What are you most looking forward to in the next 6 months? Seeing where the road takes me after graduation, and all the new people who are going to come into my life.

What is your family like and where do you fit in? Where do you stand out? My family has always been growing since I was little, when it just used to be my mom and I, I gained 3 step sisters, and two more siblings to follow in the next years. I loved to help my mom take care of my siblings when they were younger, as well as spending time with my stepsisters.
What is a favorite childhood memory? One of my favorite childhood memories is when I was little, my sister and I dress up as matching voodoo dolls! It was so much fun, and it was also the first time I dyed my hair!
What is a favorite family tradition that you hope never ends? A small tradition my family does is for every event we make our chip dip. It’s a recipe my family has always followed, and we can always expect to have.
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? I am a very free spirited person, always being myself and not caring what others think. I want to see the world, and make a change in the world for the better. If you were to present a topic to a group of your peers, what would it be? The power of music is something I have been recently passionate about. Doing research on how music can affect your mental health, surroundings, and current mood is something that really interests me.
Tell us more about this! Music is such a powerful thing that not many people really think about, but it is connected to everything and has such a positive impact on your mental health. When listening to music you really enjoy, your brain releases dopamine, the happy chemical! Starting the day with a fast tempo, upbeat song can set you up for a positive day just with that!
What else would you like to talk about? I love being in nature, and with the earth. I express that love through photography, but capturing moments in time forever.
What are your favorite things to take pictures of and why? I like to take photos of nature, and buildings. I always think it’s so beautiful, and it gives me a great excuse to find new places.
What style of photographer would you say you are? I would say my style is more quiet, and outdoors. Most of my photos are very calm, however I love exploring with different scenes.
Describe a favorite picture you took. One of my favorite pictures I have taken was at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. The sun behind the rock with the trees just makes the colors pop in the layers of nature!

What is the hardest thing you have ever accomplished, and how did you do it? At 13 years old I had to have major hip surgery to fix my hip dysplasia, which put me in a wheelchair for recovery for about 5 weeks. I had to have help with everything, and still go to school, so I really just had to set my mind to it!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be where you are today? My advice would be to always live in the moment. Don’t be worried about the “what ifs” in life, and focus on the experiences and possibilities of today.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years/what are your plans? In 5 years I hope to have traveled around the United States, and begun visiting other countries. I would like to have a stable income and good people around me!
What is your favorite activity or pastime that was not in your nomination? One of the little things I love to do in my free time is color, or re-read books I have. Coloring is a good anxiety and stress reliever, and is a fun way to pass time.
Do you have a hidden talent? What is it? Yes, I can play “I can’t help Falling in Love With you” on piano!
3 Things on your bucket list I want to see all 50 states, go skydiving, and release baby turtles into the ocean.
Who do you find inspiring? Someone I find inspiring would be my art teacher. She is a free spirit, and so much fun to be around and have as a teacher. I love that about her, and her positive energy.
What about you inspires others/why do you think you are inspiring? I think I am inspiring because I always try and be positive when people need it. Sometimes just giving someone a smile, or a kind sentence can really make a persons day, and I enjoy being that person.
