Natalie is a driving force behind many amazing projects within the community. For example, this year she crafted a new system that allows students at her high school to earn a varsity letter for the fine arts. She is kind hearted and an overall outstanding leader.
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? I am the captain of both the ski team, and the girls lacrosse team. The girls lacrosse team was started at my school last year and I got chosen to be a team captain for the first ever team! The National Art Honor Society was also a new development last year and I got to be the first president of that as well. Along with participating in two varsity sports, I take multiple AP classes and was awarded my KLAA Scholar Athlete patch my junior year. I was also chosen by my peers to be crowned as Homecoming Queen.
What else would you like to talk about? I love to be involved in my school and community. I always strive to be a good leader and using my positions to make a difference that will have a positive impact. I strive to be a good student but more importantly, to be a good person.
What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever? My passion is art. I am a self taught artist and have been creating pieces for as long as I can remember. I work in a wide range of mediums but my favorites are drawing and photography. My work has won competitions and has been featured in the Lansing Art Gallery twice. Art is my method of expression. I love the amount of emotion that a piece can capture and convey. It is in the art room that I feel most inspired and comfortable. I am always creating new pieces with new meanings, and experimenting with new techniques.
How did you find your photographer,Kara Crandall Photography? What was your experience like? What did you love most about it? I found Kara on Instagram after seeing one of my friends' senior pictures that she had taken. My experience with her was amazing, every shoot was a lot of fun and the pictures always turned out beautiful. I loved working with her the most because she was so talented, and I love her style as well.
