She is intentional, driven, loving, and hilarious. She is in school for Occupational Therapy and will go on to help SO many people one day!
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? In addition to Jacelyn’s sweet nomination, I also feel like I am passionate, intuitive, and fiercely loyal! I really do love serving others. Whether that’s in a personal or professional capacity, having the chance to brighten a friend or loved one’s day means so much. I love an opportunity to grow and mature in my interpersonal skills, mental health, and my overall outlook on personal and professional situations.
What would you most like to talk about? I would love to talk about the leadership opportunities I’ve had in my sorority, Delta Gamma, the growth that I’ve experienced in my mental health from quarantine until now, and the massive impact that having a grace-filled, loving mentor has had on my life!
If you were to present a topic to a group of your peers, what would it be and why? I would talk about the importance of filling up your own cup before pouring into others. A leader that I admired in my first semester of college spoke constantly about filling up your cup (the cup representing yourself and the action of filling that cup being anything that promotes or diminishes your well-being). That simple image helped me understand that I couldn’t serve others in a loving way until I took care of myself and my needs. Now that I’ve had several opportunities to put that ideology into practice, I want nothing more than for others to learn that too.
