This year me and my family wanted to do a kind thing and be in the holiday spirit and we raised money organization called PAWS! Let me tell you a little bit about PAWS. PAWS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving Philadelphia’s homeless and at-risk animals. PAWS is the city’s largest rescue partner and provider of low-cost, basic veterinary care for pet owners and rescue organizations that cannot otherwise access or afford it. Through its three no-kill shelters, foster care network, and special events, PAWS find loving homes for thousands of animals each year. PAWS is working to make Philadelphia a no-kill city where every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home. We started last spring and was thinking about doing it around December and Christmas time. At that point we were collecting these glass yogurt jars that we were going to use for our candles that we were going to sell. Fast forward a few months and now we had around 50 jars! At that point we stared to make the candles, and my mom was crocheting these hand warmers that we were also going to sell as well with the candles. Once we got everything done we were deciding were we should set up, finally we decided to set up at a store in Doylestown. The day of was great! So many people were so generous, some people bought a candle and or a wrist warmer, and some people just gave us a donation! In total we raised $350 for PAWS! And all of the money we raised went to PAWS.
