Nomination: Victoria Robinson is a 15 year old honor roll student athlete and plays competitive volleyball. Tori has been awarded 8 Presidential Volunteer Service Awards through her platform Fighting Childhood Hunger and is the recipient of the Governor's Medallion Award for her passion for service. Through her non-profit organization Tori's Lemon-AIDE, she has donated over 10,000 pounds of food to community outreach centers. She built/donated a blessing box to her middle school where she continues to fundraise to keep it stocked. She is a Jr. Board Member of Fostering Faith Foundation which benefits foster children in NC. Tori is exceptional.
What inspiring things about you does your nomination not cover? My inspiration for community service came from a story on the news when I was in elementary school. The story was about children in my community who may not have food to eat so I asked my mom what we could do to help. I organized a food drive at school to collect non-perishable items. To meet my goal, I set up a Lemonade stand in front of my house. By doing this I was able to surpass my goal of 500 items. That is when we decided to build a traveling lemonade stand and call it Tori’s Lemon-AIDE.
What else would you like to talk about? I would like everyone to know that I am just a teenage girl who loves volleyball, cheering, spending time with family and friends, traveling, shopping, and doing all things fun. I am just a normal teenager who wants to do what I can to make our community a better place. I hope to encourage others to become involved and give back in their own special way. Everyone has something to give, even if it is just a smile.
What do you feel passionate about or could talk about forever? My passion is giving back to my community. I love to tell my story about how and why I became involved in giving back. I created my own non-profit organization, Tori’s Lemon-AIDE which has enabled me to give back to many community outreach organizations. I am also a Jr. Board member with Fostering Faith Foundation who provides services to foster families. I love giving back, whether it is stocking my Blessing Box I built and donated, working with foster families, or just stopping by and providing a meal to a fire station. Giving back is so rewarding.
How did you find your photographer, Sullivan Blue Photography? What was your experience like? What did you love most about it? I found Sullivan Blue via social media, and she photographed many of my friends. I had a wonderful experience with Mrs. Lindsey. She made me feel beautiful and was very patient and assisted me with how to model to get the perfect shots. I loved the entire experience.
